Kodak has unveiled a small army of new digital imaging products for the consumer market, including three digital cameras, a HD television dock and a digital picture frame. One of the more interesting items from this lime up is the EasyShare Z812 IS zoom digital camera.

The Kodak EasyShare Z812 IS, priced at around $300 and available now, offers up eight-megapixels of resolution and a SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH 12x optical zoom lens. It is capable of capturing still images (16:9 aspect ratio) and video (720p at 30fps). You’ll also find this camera sports features like optical image stabilization and ISO settings up to 3200.

Today Kodak announced its first Easyshare camera that utilizes the companies new KAC-05011 CMOS image sensor. The Easyshare C513 is a point-and-shoot model targeting the entry-level camera buyer. What really makes this camera stand out aside from the new, higher quality CMOS sensor is the price tag. At a mere $99 the novice photographer can get a 5 megapixel camera that helps them take high quality photos with minimal shooting experience.

Digital cameras with CMOS sensors have traditionally been a little cheaper than those with CCD as they cost a little less to make but also didn’t have the image quality you would find with a CCD. This new CMOS image sensor from Kodak promises to provide an affordable digital camera without skimping on the picture quality or the functionality of the actual camera.

Kodak pushes on the megapixel race a little further with a new 12, yes, 12 megapixel digital camera called the EasyShare Z1275.

In addition to the mega-megapixel’s, this camera has 5x Schneider-Kreuznach Variogo optical zoom, a 2.5 inch LCD viewer and saves images to either a Memory Stick Duo or SD card. You may also notice the little “HD” label on the front, which is indicative of the MPEG4 video recording this camera can do at a resolution of 1280 x 720.

You can get your hands on this 12 megapixel shooter for a mere $249, but in order to keep that low price with all those megapixels Kodak had to forfeit some other somewhat common features like any kind of viewfinder other than the LCD screen. Recently announced by Kodak was the latest addition to its large line of digital cameras. The Kodak EasyShare Z885 Zoom Digital Camera boasts a high ISO that will allow users to take “great pictures in any lighting conditions.” Along with this, the EasyShare Z885 also has a 5x optical zoom and a high 8.1 mega-pixel resolution. It is also said that because these features are so easy to use, combined with 10 automatic smart scene modes, the number of stunning shots available to take is immeasurable.

Set for release in May, the EasyShare Z885 will sell with a retail price of $199.95.

If you are a snapshot photographer like me, I can’t think of a feature set in a camera better than the new Kodak V705. An upgrade from the similar Kodak V570, the V705 has added a few upgrades including a 7.1 megapixel CCD. The Kodak V705 is a dual lens camera with dual sensor as well.
One thing I was surprised at is that this camera doesn’t have a dock. It is a Kodak Easyshare, but if you want to hook it up to a printer, there are some adapters or a plug in you can use.
