Today Kodak announced its first Easyshare camera that utilizes the companies new KAC-05011 CMOS image sensor. The Easyshare C513 is a point-and-shoot model targeting the entry-level camera buyer. What really makes this camera stand out aside from the new, higher quality CMOS sensor is the price tag. At a mere $99 the novice photographer can get a 5 megapixel camera that helps them take high quality photos with minimal shooting experience.
Digital cameras with CMOS sensors have traditionally been a little cheaper than those with CCD as they cost a little less to make but also didn’t have the image quality you would find with a CCD. This new CMOS image sensor from Kodak promises to provide an affordable digital camera without skimping on the picture quality or the functionality of the actual camera.
