Lovefilm could be headed to UK PlayStation 3 consoles

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on October 11th, 2010

Many Americans may not know what Lovefilm is and may have never heard of it, but for those living in the UK, it’s basically their Netflix. So UKers are probably very happy about a video that has since been pulled from Sony’s YouTube channel.

Basically Lovefilm streaming will be coming to UK-based PS3 owners sometime this autumn, with a bunch of search options available and free trials offered to those who’ve yet to try it out. We’ll likely hear more from Sony soon, but for now keep your fingers crossed.

Gumdrop Bins let Britain recycle old chewing gum

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on August 31st, 2010

This is a great idea. Take your worn out, chewed to death wad of gum, you know that old ABC gum(Already Been Chewed) and put it to good use, instead of under a table or on the sidewalk. Britain has launched a program to recycle your tired worn out chewing gum and “repurpose” it into tires, childrens toys and even mobile phone covers.

This government initiative runs from August 18th through September 15th and encourages people to toss their used chewing gum into special Bins at locations throughout twelve towns in the UK.

In between donuts and coffee and giving out tickets, police officers face some dangerous situations. The bad guys never sleep. And most of them are armed.

Enter the e-Glove. It can be worn discreetly and will help police detect hidden knives during a pat down. When it detects metal on a person’s uh person, the glove vibrates silently to warn the officer. It costs about $153 per glove right now and is bound to make police safer.

British Red Phone Box mobile phone

British Red Phone Box mobile phoneBad teeth and Monty Python aside, nothing says British like a red phone box. The phone itself is fully functional and comes with a 65K color TFT screen, a camera, SMS, MMS and GPRS/WAP 2.0. Sure, those specs aren’t great, but it’s a red British phone box. What did you expect?

We really would have preferred a blue version. At least that way, it would be very Doctor Who. They really missed out on that idea. It could have all of the geeky sounds and everything. Oh well. You will get some early 00’s polyphonic style ringtones. 20 to be exact. Stuff like God Save the Queen and other British tunes.

Wii puts 10 Brits in Hospital Per Week

Wii puts 10 Brits in Hospital Per WeekThe latest Wii nonsense happening in the World has nothing to do with Wii-tards shattering TVs, or boyfriends recording their hot girlfriends getting fit. No, the latest Wii news is happening in Britain where The Sun is reporting that 10 Wii users per week in the UK are being hospitalized.

According to Doctors, patients are reporting excruciating pain in their shoulders and knees. They are calling the phenomenon Wii-itus and Wii-Knee, supposedly caused by making sudden movements in the tennis game and in Wii-Fit. But more likely, these are probably just out of shape gamers who are not used to moving. According to Doctors, some potential problems later in life for Wii-itus sufferers include rheumatism, arthritis, inflammation of the shoulder or wrist and a desire to play a different console. Any console that will allow them to lay in bed with a good cheeseburger.
