Eole concept watch with turbine bezel lets you blow for the time

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on May 16th, 2011

Is your own watch feeling a bit too practical? Not silly enough? Well, if that’s the case, check out the Eole watch concept from designer Julien Moise. This watch is powered by blown air, displaying the time only when you want to see it, thereby saving battery power.

It’s easy to say that this watch blows, but the truth is it’s a neat concept to conserve battery life. Even so, you will look pretty damn silly blowing for the time. The only thing that could make it worse would be if it made a kazoo type noise with each blow. There’s also a weather indicator and alarm function.

LG unveils super thin bezel monitor display

Posted in LG by Conner Flynn on February 1st, 2011

You’ve seen those video walls that companies use to promote their products. Usually they have thick bezels to match their huge display. Well, LG wants to improve this video wall technology with the 47WV30 47-inch LED super narrow bezel monitor display.

It’s currently being shown off at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2011. The LG 47WV3047-inch LED super narrow bezel monitor display offers a superior image without sacrificing convenience or cost efficiency. The 6.9 mm seam size makes it the slimmest on any 40- to 49-inch display, and it works great indoors or outdoors with brightness as high as 4,000 lux. No word on pricing yet.

Samsung’s 55-inch DID (Digital Information Display) LCD display produces an HD or a Full HD resolution (depending on the model) and has an ultra-slim bezel (3.8mm on the top and left side of the LCD and 1.9mm on the bottom and right side of the LCD).

Sadly we don’t yet have any pricing or availability details. Apparently, this 55-inch ultra-thin bezel screen will be followed by one with a diagonal measurement of 46 inches and a separation of 7.6mm.

The Midnight iPhone is exclusive to De Vere’s for £799 (USD$1199) or as a bezel fitted to an existing iPhone for £299 (USD$449).

The black Midnight iPhone was originally created by De Vere’s to show off the effect of diamonds set into its luxury De Vere Diamond iPhones. Then they realized how good the all black iPhone looked without the diamonds.
