Posted in iPod Accessories by Conner Flynn on September 8th, 2009

Best Buy has early iPod touch 3rd gen accessories Oops. Best Buy has listings for a number of accessories from Belkin for the as yet unannounced iPod touch 3rd generation. None of the listings mention a digital camera on the back of this new model, but they list six new case lines on their website. Some of those cases sport “hand straps” however, suggesting that it will have a camera.

Following up on rumors that the new model might be delayed, Pocket-lint managed to get a Riverdale New Jersey Walmart to comment that they were expecting the “newer” iPod touch models at the “end of the month.”

Palm Pre now $99 at Best Buy

Posted in Palm by Conner Flynn on July 26th, 2009

Palm Pre may initially be a Best Buy ExclusiveHere’s some good news for Pre fans who haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet. The newest Best Buy ad shows the handset on sale for just $99 on a two-year contract. That’s $100 less than the previous price. The timing is interesting. This comes just a few days after Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said that “it’s too early to tell” if the Pre’s a hit.

Well, this should put his mind at ease and boost sales. The question is, is this just a one-week sale or a permanent price drop? You better grab one quick, just in case.

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on July 6th, 2009

Best Buy to offer 80GB PS3 bundle with MGS4 and Killzone 2?Great news. It’s not exactly a price cut, but it looks like Sony may be about to offer one of its best deals to date to PS3 customers, with some help from Best Buy. Apparently, this is an effort to clear out the 80GB PS3s once and for all (to make way for… the PS3 slim?), Best Buy will selling a bundle that includes the console, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Killzone 2.

All for the usual price of $399.99. Not a price cut, but you get a lot more for your money. This bundle is supposedly set to go on sale as soon as next Sunday. Some of them have apparently already made their way into the stores’ back rooms.

Palm Pre stock levels at Best Buy for entire US now leaked

Palm Pre stock levels for launch day at Best Buy leakedThere’s no way to know for sure if the linked document is authentic or not. It builds on the original, from a few days back. It sems like a lot of trouble to go through for a joke or hoax, but there are some sick and bored people out there.

I mean, it’s a 31 page PDF file showing Palm Pre inventories for every Best Buy in the US and Puerto Rico. If this is bunk, than someone has a very sad life. Make of it what you will. Maybe it will help you get a Pre.

Palm Pre stock levels for launch day at Best Buy leaked

Posted in Palm by Conner Flynn on June 2nd, 2009

Palm Pre stock levels for launch day at Best Buy leakedLooks like Best Buy’s Pre stock for launch day is pretty meager. Distribution is strange to say the least. This shot comes from a poster over on everythingpre’s forums, who posted a bunch of alleged inventory screen shots.

They suggest that Florida and Texas stores are particularly well-off, with several stores expected to get 18, 20 or more, while Illinois stores suggest that you need not bother at all. So, is this fake or not? It could have something to do with how close each store is to Best Buy’s distribution centers. We have no idea. If this is accurate, you can always start driving to Texas or Florida.

Best Buy stores only getting 4 Palm Pres on launch day?

Posted in Palm by Conner Flynn on May 21st, 2009

Palm Pre may initially be a Best Buy ExclusiveThere’s been some talk of a Pre shortage. Apparently they ain’t kidding. 4 Palm Pres will be available per Best Buy store on launch day. That’s a total of 4250 Pre phones for the entire franchise. BGR is also reporting that RadioShack stores will get only two Pres.

Many of you are in for a rough June 6th. These numbers put your chances of getting a Palm Pre on launch day somewhere around slim and none.

Guy wants a MacBook Pro, gets a $2164.89 paving stone from Best Buy

Guy wants a MacBook Pro, gets a $2164.89 paving stone from Best BuyForget the Swine flu. The thing that’s becoming a real epidemic is buying stones in place of things like a Nintendo DS and in this case a MacBook Pro.

In this case, a buyer named Ryan bought a Macbook Pro and when he got home he opened the box and found a paving stone packed with bubble wrap, instead of a Macbook Pro. He returned to the store and the manager, “Keith”, was not very helpful. He kept falling back on the line “Apple seals the boxes, not us. Take it up with Apple.”
