Atmos 566 Clock is beautiful

Posted in Clocks by Conner Flynn on January 20th, 2010

We love unique clocks around here. This one is unique and then some. It looks like its from the future and may harness the power of a dying star inside. It’s from Jaeager-LeCoultre, designed by Marc Newson. Surely this clock can only be used by a Time-Lord, within a ship that’s larger on the inside.

There are only 76 of the Atmos 566s available, so its not just beautiful, it’s also outrageously expensive. Made from clear or blue Baccarat crystal, it tells the time and also displays a current sky map. It will cost you between $2,600 and $70,600.

Roomba’s journey is beautiful, organized chaos

Roomba's journey is beautiful, organized chaosThe Roomba may be autonomous and the little cleaning robot manages to keep most of your rooms nice and clean, but have you ever thought about its journey. No, I’m not getting all philosophical about the bot. I mean the path that it takes vacuuming your home.

This long-exposure shot, shot in a span of 30-minutes, reveals just its crazy and chaotic seeming, yet organized path. It’s like a dance. A dance of cleanliness. You can see the initial spiral path in the center, but after that it’s chaos that somehow manages to cover the entire area.
