Onkyo TX-NA809 High Quality AV Amplifier

The Onkyo TX-NA809 is a 7.1-channel AV amplifier that features the Vida VHD1900 HQV video processor and Wide Range Amplifier Technology. It is compatible with a wide variety of music formats and has support for “radiko.jp”, which gives you interruption-free radio reception.

The company also provides the Onkyo Remote app for iPhone and iPod touch owners if you want to control it from a distance. The Onkyo TX-NA809 will hit Japan on September 6th for $2,041.

Inkel VR-654BD Blu-ray player with integrated 7.1-channel AV receiver

Inkel is offering folks in South Korea the VR-654BD Blu-ray player, which comes equipped with a built-in 7.1-channel AV receiver for your home theater system. Of course there’s Blu-ray and DVD support, but the device also features USB 2.0 connectivity as well.

Some other features include the ability to handle DivX and XviD file format playback straight from a USB flash drive, DB Live 2.0, and an integrated FM tuner radio. It should hit the South Korea market by the end of this month for $600. We may see it elsewhere soon after.

Dell Streak car and AV docks go on sale

Dell has a new selection of cables, plugs, adapters, and cases for your new Streak, which is available in the UK and will be available for us this summer. The HDMI dock may exist, but right now Dell is only listing an AV dock without going into the TV connectivity options.

There’s a kickstand-equipped wallet case, a spare battery and sync cables, and an international travel kit. Prices start at £24 ($35) and the car- and TV-enabling docks will cost you £55 ($80) each.

It’s the company’s first that includes Pandora, Rhapsody, and Sirius streaming internet radio support. The Onyko TX-NR807 supports DLNA 1.5 media streaming, for playback of media stored on networked computers and drives, along with six HDMI ports, Faroudja DCDi Cinema 1080p upscaling and both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

You’ll also get Audyssey DSX soundstage extension processing and support for MP3, WMA, FLAC, Lossless, Ogg Vorbis and AAC files, a bi-directional remote control, ethernet port and 7.1 surround sound. There’s more. The TX-NR807 also supports multi-room audio, with powered zone two and three options and a serial port for system integration and more.

Marantz intros entry-level slimline AV receiverMarantz has introduced an entry-level AV receiver in the NR1501. List priced at $600, the AV receiver comes with four HDMI inputs, onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and analog video upconversion.

The NR1501 is a tad smaller than most receivers. The NR1501 has an onscreen display, but it’s the basic white text on a black, while many receivers in this price range feature full graphical user interfaces.There are also no 7.1 analog inputs, multizone functionality, or satellite radio connections.

Onkyo released their new 7.1 AV amplifier that even features an HDMI 1.3 port. It’s called the TX-SA706X, and it offers five HDMI inputs and one HDMI output supporting 1080p video signals.

The device also handles Dolby True HD, DTS-HD Master Audio and provides a maximum output of 200Watts x 7, a frequency response of 5Hz-100,000Hz and includes Audyssey Dynamic EQ Processing. Now that’s nice and powerful. You’ll be able to get the Onkyo TX-SA706 on July 19th, 2008 for €1,120.

Zyxel prepares new Powerline digital media adapter

Zyxel DMA1100PZyxel is using the Consumer Electronics Show to show off a new product it says is the first digital media adapter with built-in HomePlug AV Powerline technology. It is the DMA1100P and it prices at around $270.

The Zyxel DMA1100P works through a person’s power lines in the home to stream HD digital content to a home entertainment system from a computer or network storage devices. Zyxel says its digital media adapter will discover media files from DLNA supported devices, making them available for browsing and playback.

APC offering high tech A/V power conditioners

APC H15 Power ConditionerAPC is not just about doing back up power solutions for your home or small business network. It also has products in other power related categories such as A/V gear. One of its newest offerings is the APC H15 Power Conditioner, priced at around $450. APC has also released a less expensive model, the H10, at around $350.

The APC H15 Power Conditioner is designed to provide what APC says is full power conditioning, including surge protection, noise filtering, and automatic voltage regulation (AVR). Both the H15 and the H10 have 12 filtered, surge protection outlets, with six of these outlets offering noise filtering for digital devices. The power conditioners also offer two analog, two video, and two high-current filtered outlets for amplifiers, subwoofers and the like.
