KDDI thinks that you should change your cellphone when the season changes. So KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are introducing a new line of au cellphones for the autumn-winter season. The new lineup ranges from models with 12 megapixel cameras and high-quality videos, to slim and compact models, and models for designed for the elderly as well as junior users.

The lineup features 20 models in all and includes: Exilim Keitai CA003 with a 12.2 megapixel camera compatible with high-speed shooting of 20 photos per second and Dynamic Photo function; Aquos Shot SH003 which is capable of shooting super-high-quality photos easily with a 12.1 megapixel CCD camera and a 3.4-inch touch-panel display.

In the market for a fashionable handset that will stand out and is not an iPhone? AU KDDI of Japan has a newly created brand called iida, that is aimed squarely at fashion-conscious users. One of their first handsets is the G9 slider from Sony Ericsson that is actually kinda sexy in a retro way.

Some features include: Built-in 1Seg TV tuner, Stainless steel body with titanium coating, CDMA 1X and GSM network compatible, 3″ touchscreen display at 480 x 854 resolution, 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth connectivity, and GPS navigation support.

KDDI will release the limiited edition W63S cell phone with a special 007 Quantum of Solace design from AU. The handset is priced at €110 with a contract and features an internal 2.7 inch organic EL WQVGA display with an external 1.1 inch organic EL display, 100MB internal memory, 1Seg support, EZ FeliCa, and has a 3MP shooter.

The largest TFT LCD maker you’ve probably never heard of today said it had developed for its name brand clients the world’s first 16:9 Full HD TFT-LCD with 1920 x 1080 resolution for desktop monitor. Availability for this LCD from Au Optronics is projected later this year, though we don’t know as of yet pricing or who will actually put this panel into retail environments.

Auo’s new 24-inch TFT-LCD offers up a widescreen 16:9 format for better viewing of HD content. It offers up what is described as a “stylish thin and eco-friendly” design and is 1080p capable. Thinness of the display compared with more conventional 24-inch displays measures out at some points to 14mm.
