You crazy kids and your peripherals and attachments. In my day, we had an Atari 2600 and the only thing attached to it was a joystick. Bah! Now you kids have attachments for everything. Are you playing a game or cleaning with a vacuum? Well, here’s some Band Hero DS attachments.

Players can use the On Tour guitar attachment, sing some vocals on the system’s built-in mic, or use the drum skin attachment above for percussion. However, if you’ve already upgraded to the DSi, then too bad for you. The guitar attachments will not be able to plug into the GBA cartridge port that the system doesn’t have and the drum skin won’t fit on the frame.

We love the Wii. Especially when it uses the Wiimote and other attachments properly, so it’s not all gimmicky. But Wii Breakfast may be taking it to extremes.

You can use the Wiimote alone as one of any 60 instruments featured in Wii Music. But that’s no fun. You need cheap plastic to really rock out with your orchestra. Plastic in the shape of a violin, saxophone and a pair of drumsticks. Now you’re rockin! Break out the formal-wear and pass some martinis around and your livingroom concert is complete.

The eGear WiiMusic Pack includes all three instrument attachments. The drumstick doubles as a conductor’s baton. That’s still 56 pieces short of a full Wii Music symphony orchestra, but it’s a start. For $30 it will make you feel like you are more then just a Wii music pretender.
