Acer reveals Aspire 5755 multimedia laptop |
Acer’s latest laptop, the Aspire 5755, is for multimedia lovers who are on the go. It features Intel Core chips (with the i7-2820QM available in the premium configurations), and Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics with Nvidia’s Optimus tech.
Other features include 8GB of DDR3 memory, as much as 1TB of storage, and a 15.6 inch Acer CineCrystal LED-backlit TFT LCD screen with a maximum resolution of 1366×768. There’s also built Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) tech and an HDMI-output option.








Look at this guy twisting and posing for the camera. Acer’s Aspire 1420p tablet was caught showing off at a Chinese press event. And yes this sexy beast is coming to the states, according to a rough product page found on Acer’s US site.
Have you recently purchased an Acer Aspire laptop? If so, you may be interested to know that Acer has issued a product recall for certain models. Some of the laptops have a microphone cable on the left hand side, under the palm rest, which may overheat when extreme pressure is applied.
The Aspire Timeline notebooks manage to get 8-10 hours of battery life and they start at just $699. It accomplishes this through Intel’s ultra-low voltage processors, LED-backlit screens and dual graphics cards. Apparently you’ll get 8 hours with a regular hard drive, and 10 with an SSD.
Acer has been busy as usual. The company just announced the first computer based on NVIDIA’s ION platform. It goes by the name of AspireRevo and looks like a Nettop, but it contains an entry-level NVIDIA GPU that is much faster than previous solutions from Intel. It has a 4GB memory limit which is nice.
Acer has no plans to rest with the success of its Aspire One netbook. They’re already working hard on a new model that improves on its predecessor. The new model will feature a slimmer chassis and come with an SD memory card slot like the one that first appeared on the 8.9″ model.
