Acer reveals Aspire 5755 multimedia laptop

Acer’s latest laptop, the Aspire 5755, is for multimedia lovers who are on the go. It features Intel Core chips (with the i7-2820QM available in the premium configurations), and Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics with Nvidia’s Optimus tech.

Other features include 8GB of DDR3 memory, as much as 1TB of storage, and a 15.6 inch Acer CineCrystal LED-backlit TFT LCD screen with a maximum resolution of 1366×768. There’s also built Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) tech and an HDMI-output option.

Acer announces new Aspire TimelineX Series laptops, starting at $599

Acer has refreshed their Aspire TimelineX notebooks with a redesign and Sandy Bridge processors too. The 13.1-inch 3830T, 14-inch 4830T, and 15.6-inch 5830T all sport a two-tone aluminum design, USB 3.0, a choice of Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs, and Acer’s clear.fi software for sharing media among DLNA devices.

The 14- and 15.6-inch versions feature onboard optical drives and number pads, and on some models, you can choose a discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT520M or GT540M card. The screen resolution is 1366 x 768 on all of these. The 3830T, 4830T, and 5830T are available now, starting at $799, $699, and $599.

Acer announces Aspire Predator AG3600 gaming rig

Acer has announced its latest Predator Series gaming rig, the AG3600. This beast looks great. Some of the specs include a 2nd generation Intel Core i5 2300 CPU, with Intel’s H67 chipset and Turbo Boost 2.0, discrete NVIDIA GeForece GT 420 graphics, 8GB of DDR3 SDRAM, and a 1.5TB SATA hard drive.

Aside from that it also packs in a multicard reader, three PCI Express x1 slots, 10 USB 2.0 ports, three audio ins, mini HDMI, DVI and a D-SUB port. And you can get it fast since the Predator AG3600 is available now for around $899.

Acer announces Aspire 5750, 5750G, and 7750G laptops

Acer has announced several new laptops, including the new Aspire 5750, 5750G and 7750G. The trio all feature Intel’s 2nd gen Core i7 2630QM CPUs. The Aspire 5750 and 7750 have up to 6GB of memory, while the 5750 is upgradeable to 8GB using two 4GB modules. The 7750G has a hard drive capacity of up to 750GB, while the 5750 has up to a 640GB HDD.

The 5750G comes with NVIDIA’s new GeForece GT 540M graphics, while the 7750G comes with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6550 or 6650 graphics standard. All three models also boast LED, backlit displays, with the Aspire 5750 and 5750G measuring 15.6-inches, while the 7750G is a 17.3-incher with a resolution of 1600 x 900.

Acer launches Aspire Ethos 8943G & 5943G HD notebooks

Acer has outed a couple of new swanky notebooks in the Acer Aspire Ethos series. These sport some slick new design along with multimedia performance. The Acer Aspire Ethos 8943G and Aspire Ethos 5943G come with your choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, 18-inch 1920 x 1080 and 15.6-inch 1366 x 768 displays, and ATI Mobility Radeon HD5000 graphics.

You’ll also get Dolby Home Theater surround support, with 5.1 output, and the Ethos 5943G as a full five speakers on its own. Storage is up to 1.28TB (two 640GB HDDs) and you can choose between DVD or a Blu-ray drive.

Aspire 1420p tablet looks sexyLook at this guy twisting and posing for the camera. Acer’s Aspire 1420p tablet was caught showing off at a Chinese press event. And yes this sexy beast is coming to the states, according to a rough product page found on Acer’s US site.

It looks like it packs an 11.6-inch LED-backlit multitouch screen with WXGA resolution, an Intel Celeron processor with integrated graphics, up to 8GB RAM and 320GB HDD, 802.11b/g/Draft-N, Bluetooth, a multi-card reader, webcam, and optional 3G.

Acer recalls some Aspire laptopsHave you recently purchased an Acer Aspire laptop? If so, you may be interested to know that Acer has issued a product recall for certain models. Some of the laptops have a microphone cable on the left hand side, under the palm rest, which may overheat when extreme pressure is applied.

The models in question include the Aspire models AS3410, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3810TZG which were manufactured before September 15th 2009. Hit up the link for more details to see what you should do if you have one.

Acer Aspire Timelines get 8-hour battery life for $699The Aspire Timeline notebooks manage to get 8-10 hours of battery life and they start at just $699. It accomplishes this through Intel’s ultra-low voltage processors, LED-backlit screens and dual graphics cards. Apparently you’ll get 8 hours with a regular hard drive, and 10 with an SSD.

The charger helps keep the power consumption down by cutting the power when it senses a full charge. The notebook is a tad over an inch thick, by 13.3, 14 and 15.6 inches at 3.5-5.3 pounds.

Acer AspireREvo launched

Acer AspireREvo launchedAcer has been busy as usual. The company just announced the first computer based on NVIDIA’s ION platform. It goes by the name of AspireRevo and looks like a Nettop, but it contains an entry-level NVIDIA GPU that is much faster than previous solutions from Intel. It has a 4GB memory limit which is nice.

It’ll run 1080p videos, output 7.1 surround sound audio and is compatible with DX 10 graphics. It will ship with Vista Home Premium at launch, followed by Windows 7 soon after.

New Acer Aspire One is coming

New Acer Aspire One is comingAcer has no plans to rest with the success of its Aspire One netbook. They’re already working hard on a new model that improves on its predecessor. The new model will feature a slimmer chassis and come with an SD memory card slot like the one that first appeared on the 8.9″ model.

There can be only one reason for the slimmer chassis: an SSD instead of a hard drive. The presence of the Windows key on the keyboard suggests the new Aspire One will run XP, though a Linux version is likely.

It’s an 18.4-inch behemoth featuring Intel’s new Core 2 Quad Mobile Q9000 CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB 7200 SATA hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT graphics with 512MB of dedicated video memory.

Aside from that, it’s identical to the previous 8930G models. Truth is most of us probably don’t need a quad-core CPU in our laptop, but why the hell not? You gotta keep up with the Jones’ and we are talking about power here. For a price. And it’s not as bad as you might think. It’s available now for $1800.

Acer unveils four new Aspire Gemstone laptops

Acer unveils Aspire 8930, 6930, 5735 & 4730 Gemstone laptopsI picked up an Acer Gemstone 6920 awhile back and it’s an awesome and powerful laptop. Those who are wanting to get in on the Gemstone action and haven’t yet now have four new models to look at. The high-end Aspire 8930 sports a 18.4-inch HD CineCrystal display, 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo T9400 CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA’s GeForce 9700M GT, optional Blu-ray drive, WiFi, 320GB 7,200RPM SATA drive and starts at $1,699.99.

The 6930 features a 16-inch WXGA LCD and as you might expect, less few less options for $699.99. Then there’s the 5735 with a Pentium T3200, 15.6-inch WXGA display, and 2GB of RAM for $549.99. Last but not least is the 14.1-inch 4730, which also starts at $549.99. All are available now.
