Rocking chairs are great for just kicking back and relaxing, but I don’t own one because I wouldn’t use it very often. I would just use it a bit, then go back to my armchair. Now if I could convert that rocker into an armchair, that would be perfect. “Fotel” by designer Peter Vardai does just that, and in only 20 seconds.

Optimus Prime ain’t jack if you can’t sit on him. Eat it Optimus. This design concept features a carbon fiber frame with springy and comfortable elastic bands on the seating surfaces. It looks pretty sweet and modern too.

Why park your afterburners in an ordinary chair when you can sit still and look like you are flying in this thing? In case it wasn’t obvious, designer Gianni Pedone based the Morfojet chair on a pair of jet turbines.

It doesn’t just look sweet, the Morfojet also has a built-in CD player and speakers. It’s so awesome that a pair of aviator goggles should be required just to sit in it. When you’ve got turbines as arm rests, that says power. But why did they not put giant speakers in the turbines? That would have completed it nicely.

It’s a simple enough story. First we see the human lying back, perfectly relaxed in their Armchair Paradise pod, looking quite content. Next, we see that the pod has slammed it’s jaws shut, trapping the human inside, leaving the legs exposed. It will take approximately 2.5 hours to fully digest the human mass. Midway through digestion, the legs will fall away from the structure, having not been consumed. Every pod knows that human legs are the worst part. Too stringy.

How do they lure humans inside? Total comfort of course, after a hard day’s work, plus a built-in sound system that envelopes you in sound. THAT is how they get us!
