News Corp’s The Daily iPad news app is on the way. A weekly subscription will cost you $0.99, and it will hit the iPad on January 17th according to All Things D. The app will feature a lot of video and come with some cool multimedia capabilities, including some kind of 3D effect.

The Daily ushers in a new push subscription feature for Apple where iTunes can automatically do recurring billing for the digital periodical. It was previously rumored for a December launch, but it looks like it may have been delayed to give the app some time to be fine tuned or to work out last minute details for a subscription billing service from Apple.

We have been hearing rumors about the features that Apple will announce in the iPad 2, and one of those features is two video cameras to make use of Apple’s FaceTime software.

And some supposed iPad 2 cases have shown up that seem to have space on the back for a rear camera, and an opening which is reportedly for an SD card slot. Take this with a grain of salt for now, but you never know. Anything is possible.

Apple confirms white iPhone 4 for Spring 2011

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on December 6th, 2010

The white iPhone 4 has been delayed several times and was even removed from the online Apple Store. There was never any official confirmation from Apple that the device was canceled, but that was the rumor. And now the latest in the white iPhone 4 saga is that some new signage has been going up in Apple stores which features a footnote that the white iPhone will be available in spring 2011.

Hopefully that is really the case. It’s in line with what Apple previously mentioned. Maybe we can get a happy ending for all of you white iPhone fans yet.

Mac App Store launching on December 13th?

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on December 6th, 2010

We know that the Mac App Store is launching soon. Steve Jobs has said that it would go live “within 90 days” back when it was announced on October 20th. Now AppleTell has an inside source who claims that Apple is trying to launch the Mac App Store before Christmas, specifically on December 13th and telling developers to have their software ready by Monday, December 6th.

The Mac App Store will require an OS update to end users and the new OS X 10.6.6 has already been seeded to developers. If true, they are being pretty aggressive with this timeline.

They’re testing out a new EasyPay point-of-sale type system that Apple’s calling ZipCheck, with iPods, to minimize long check out lines.

LMP Bluetooth Keypad for Apple Wireless Keyboard

Posted in Bluetooth by Conner Flynn on December 1st, 2010

The LMP Bluetooth Keypad shares the same cylindrical base and brushed aluminum finish as the Apple Wireless Keyboard, which is no mistake. The LMP Keypad can be used all by itself, but it also has a connector that snaps onto the right side of the Apple Wireless Keyboard, extending it.

The LMP Keypad does require a couple of AA batteries, though, making it a bit of a pain. We don’t have any info yet on pricing or availability just yet though.

Apple Bans Android Magazine App

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on November 29th, 2010

Apple is well known for being way too ban-happy, and the recent banning of an Android Magazine App from the App Store shows that they are still at it. This comes after Apple has stated that its application policies have relaxed a little more of late. Not enough apparently.

Unfortunately for publisher Mediaprovider their recent Android magazine App has been banned from the Apple App Store. Below is the conversation Dixon of Mediaprovider had with Richard of the Apple App Store team, after the app was rejected.

iPad 2 details surface

Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on November 26th, 2010

Digitimes is reporting that Apple will be adding five new features to the iPad 2. These include video chat, a thinner glass panel for better portability, a USB port, new display technology and 3-axis gyroscopes. The video chat we’re talking about is likely FaceTime, so that means that the camera feature will be hitting the iPad.

The improved display could be Apple’s Retina Display. The USB port would be very welcomed by everyone. We’ll have to see how this rumor pans out. It does all make sense, but that doesn’t mean it’s true.

Information collected by Billboard gave 1969′s Abbey Road the lead, both as the top-selling album and for “Here Comes the Sun” as the top-selling song. Many consider Abbey Road to be their best album. Now a newer generation of listeners can be exposed to the band, while others can re-discover them.

That’s the word on the street. That Apple will be launching an iPad 2 next April. Of course we all knew that Apple wasn’t going to stop with just one iPad. Analyst Brian Marshall of Gleacher thinks that the iPad 2 will be coming out once the CDMA version of the iPhone hits the market.

The rumor can be traced to Digitimes, who says that Apple has commissioned several companies to roll out high density interconnect boards for the device. We know it’s coming and right now April seems like a good bet.

Destroyed Apple Products

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on November 19th, 2010

There’s something beautiful about a destroyed Apple product. Michael Tompert and photographer Paul Fairchild must think so too since they thought it would be a good idea to destroy a range of Apple products, and they photograph them.

Some of the products used include and iPad and iPhone. I guess it really compliments the product if it is beautiful both intact and destroyed. You can see the rest of the photos of the destroyed Apple products over at Fubiz.
