Alessi Laser Shot watchWho needs old fashioned hands that go around a dial, when you can have lasers? That’s the thinking behind the latest concept watch from Alessi. Supposedly, the Laser Shot watch won’t burn your hand as it pew pew pews the time on your wrist using a laser beam.

So it’s totally safe. Unless you wake up one day to find the time permanently tattooed on your skin and glowing. In which case, it’s time to get a new watch. But hey, that’s the price you pay for having cool things.

Alessi Daytimer OLED watchIf you’re looking for a unique and colorful new watch, here’s a cool one that celebrates polygons. Will Alsop and Federico Grazzini created the Alessi Daytimer. This watch comes with a high-contrast blue OLED digital display framed by a geometric polyurethane case. This watch will get noticed for sure.

It even comes in a 3D polygonal case structure which is just a bit askew, and as time marches on, the display goes through nine different graphics. Just press the button to get the time. The Daytimer will cost you $120 each and is available in red, green, purple and black. Because geometry rules…Your wrist.

Alessi Cordless DECT phone with 65,000 color OLED displayThe DECT phone, designed by Italian Stefano Giovannoni, combines some very nice design with advanced functions. The phone features a 65,000 color OLED display, as well as preloaded backgrounds and ringtones.

Though it may look and sound like just a concept, the DECT phone is real. You can actually buy it. The phone also has a large directory for storing contacts and a high quality speaker. It’s priced pretty reasonably at $175.
