We’ve seen these mailbox type email alert gadgets before, but this one is tiny enough to be cute and useful. The USB Mail Box Friends Alert is an $18 device that plugs into your USB port, where it will monitor your email, Twitter, and Facebook accounts using its companion software.

The mailbox lights up red or green to notify you of an update. Also, upping the cute factor, the little plastic flag will actually raise. It supports Windows 7, Vista, and XP.

It’s good to know what’s going on in your credit card account. It’s even better to know what’s happening in real-time. That’s why Visa is testing a real-time notification system for mobile phones. Users are able to choose the alert level (whether for all or only the expensive items) and even choose if they prefer SMS or Email alerts.

Currently VISA employees are testing the system to work out all the kinks. things out. Since we are dealing with VISA, we are guessing that the service won’t be free once it goes public, but that remains to be seen.

We’ve all seen the movie The Exorcist. Remember when Linda Blair’s head spun around? This is a lot like that, but with Vader and a Stormtrooper. And minus the messy green vomit. At first I passed on showing you these, but then I thought about it and realized that decapitated spinning Star Wars heads have got to be awesome. My God how I would love to torment Jar-Jar’s head, but alas, that’s not an option.

They’ll come in very handy if you are in a noisy environment or if you’re phone is on silent. If you get a call, heads won’t roll, they’ll spin. $9 a head. Might be nice to have the head of George Lucas himself, considering all he has done to the franchise. Yeah, I’d like to watch that one spin for a while.

That is if you don’t mind watching this little guy whack himself on the head every time you get a message. With a really creepy voice I might add.

You can customize it with mp3 files for any of your contacts. Hear a different mp3 song when your different contacts send you a message. It works with Skype, MSN, and Yahoo Messenger.
