It will charge twin iPods and iPhone 3Gs while giving you NOAA emergency alerts, letting you know if Tornadoes or other natural disasters are on the way, so you can run to safety. After grabbing your charged iPhone of course. It also sports an auxiliary input for non-Apple devices.

Time Tuner Alarm Clock looks like analog

Time Tuner Alarm Clock looks like analogHere’s a great design that can’t make up it’s mind as to whether it’s from the future or the past. We like it. The Time Tuner was created by Istanbul-based Antrepo Design Industry, who decided against the traditional digital clock face. It instead boasts an analog style that resembles a radio tuner.

It’s a lot like our favorite watches from Tokyoflash. The numbers along the length of the dial light-up to show you the hour. At the same time, an illuminated vertical red line moves across the dial for minutes. If you’re looking for a clock with style, look no further.

iDesign SongView iPod alarm clockThere’s no shortage of iPod alarm clocks on the market, but every now and then you see one that stands out. Take the iDesign SongView for instance. It suckers you in with it’s 1.3 inch scrolling display on the base, which cycles between the date and time, current song, artist, playlist and album when you’re listening to your iPod. You can actually see it from across the room.

Get it? SongView? It comes with the usual remote for controlling all the features, line out and line in jacks for external speakers and will take a non-iPod MP3 player as well. Not too bad for $99.99.

Cuckoo clock speaker rocks you out of bed

Cuckoo clock speaker rocks you out of bedImagine waking up to this thing blaring out tunes. Designed by French artist Stephane Vigny, the loudspeaker clock pretty much does what you’d expect it to do. It just does it without a cuckoo bird.

When the appropriate time comes, the doors flip open, the bottom woofer extends out and music is played loudly as you are shocked awake and take a hammer to the thing. It will wake up even the deepest of sleepers. I’ve never had the pleasure of waking up to this monstrosity and already I want this concept dead.

Ila Dusk Personal Alarm does the screaming for you

Ila Dusk Personal Alarm does the screaming for youThe streets can be unsafe anywhere these days and you can’t take your safety for granted, especially if you are a woman. You can always have some mace or a taser handy, but as some added protection you may want to pack a loud alarm on your person to scare the bad guy off and alert those nearby that you are in trouble.

That’s where this device comes in handy. The Ila Personal Alarm is named after the Hindu goddess of voice and the device will omit a 130 decibel shriek that sounds like a female scream. At £19.50 it’s not a huge purchase and it’s a small price to pay for safety. It could save your life.

Sweat Alarm alerts you to night time heat

Sweat Alarm alerts you to night time heatThis odd device in the form of a fugly watch is for those who sweat a lot during a deep sleep. It’s worn on your wrist or ankle, usually with comments from your other half like, “What the hell is that?” or “How much of OUR money did it cost you strap that ugliness to your ankle?”. Which is followed by something being thrown at you and you sleeping on the couch.

The idea is that it vibrates and wakes you up when it detects you sweating during sleep. I guess it doesn’t occur to some people to sleep without blankets. And doesn’t your body naturally wake you when you are too hot? I’m calling BS on this device and if you buy it your wife should knee you in the nuts.

Visomate tells your boss when you’ve been sleeping

Visomate tells your boss when you’ve been sleepingSo you get into work in the morning and you immediately head for your spot under the desk, where you hope to pull a George Costanza and get some sleep. It’s worked so far. Suckers never check in on you. Little do you know, your boss had Visomate installed. Not good at all.

The device connects via USB and will detect when your posture is bad at your desk by keeping an eye on your eye level. If your posture slouches too much an alarm goes off, which you can silence, but you can’t stop the flashing lights. But come on, we all know that George Costanza can find a way to beat this machine. What does a guy need to do to get some shuteye at work?

The silent alarm clockAlarm clocks usually jolt you awake leaving you dazed and angry at the coming day. But not the Silent Alarm Clock. It was designed by Johan Brengesjo and will wake you up without any sound at all. Just put on the matching wireless rubber ring that has a vibration device and you’ll get a nice vibrating alarm on your finger.

USB Hub Calculator: Cheap & useful
I still can’t figure out why the calculator is making a comeback, but here’s yet another example of a new twist on the number crunching device. If the HP Quick calc isn’t enough or the keyboard calculator is too expensive, this USB Hub calculator has the added benefit of being a bit more useful.

Aside from the hub aspect, with 3 USB ports, it also has some other bonus features, like a 12/24 hour world clock with alarm, a calendar and a even a thermometer. And it’s only $19, so it won’t kill you in the wallet. If you absolutely need a calculator, it might as well have a few other functions.

The Zihotch Retro Phone Watch
Rotary dial phones seem to be making a comeback, at least in gadgets if not actual phones. First there was the rotary dial app for iPhone. Now we have the Zihotch Retro Phone Watch, which is a pretty unique watch.

So how do you tell what time it is? You need to make a phone call to find out. Just dial 117 and the you’ll get the time from a recorded voice. Dial the wrong number and you get, “We are sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service. Please check and call again.” It can also be used as an alarm. It can be yours for $79.99.

Cat clock wakes you with big eyes, glowing head
Cat owners are probably used to waking up in the dead of night to a pair of large cat eyes staring at them evilly. It keeps you on your toes and makes you wonder when he will make his move, so it’s best to sleep with one eye open. For the rest of us, there’s this creepy Led/Lcd cat clock with large eyes and glowing head.

It displays the time in it’s oversized glowing alien eyes from a multi-colored glowing skull, hypnotizing you just before you wake up. Then when you open your eyes, it plants various suggestions in your mind via the annoying beeping sound. It was spotted on ebay for $18. I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure this is an alien signaling device. Probably prepares you for your eventual abduction.

Mail Chime lets you know when you have mail
What we have here is basically a doorbell for your mailbox. It’s a transmitter and receiver combination with a 300 foot range. When mail is deposited into your box, an alarm will sound and you’ll see a red LED light until the mail is retrieved.

This sounds absolutely ridiculous right, because you probably need the exercise of checking the mail more often anyway. But for some people, especially those in apartments, checking the mail may involve leaving the apartment and going all the way down a flight of stairs or more, only to find there’s no mail. That’s the sort of situation this comes in handy for. It’s only $49.95.

The Anti Sleep Driving Alarm keeps you awake

The Anti Sleep Driving Alarm keeps you awake
Many of us do not get the proper amount of sleep. That can be dangerous when you’re behind the wheel of a several ton killing machine. The last thing that you want to do is nod off and wake up in a hospital only to find out that you’ve ushered some other poor souls into the great beyond. Or worse never wake up again.

This little gadget sits on your ear and when your head tilts forward more than 30 degrees, a high pitched alarm will sound in your ear. It’s also great for all night gamers. You wouldn’t want to nod off in the middle of a crucial level. It will cost you $14.99 and could save your life. Probably best to get more sleep, though.

Do you really think she wants to see yet another appliance that will remind her of all the work she still has to do?

Then again, if you really don’t care and she’s hard to shop for, go ahead and take the chance. The clock comes in a fridge, stove, iron, blender and washing machine. They’re priced at around $20 each. The washing machine shakes and shows a sudsy animation when it’s time to wake up. Oh, she’ll love that.
