There are lots of reasons to put hidden cameras in your home from the legitimate use of keeping an eye on your kids to the more nefarious spying on other people in the home without their knowledge. Whatever the reason you want to put hidden cameras in your home this new clock radio camera with built-in DVR is not cheap.

The device retails for $499 on sale and has a high resolution, low lux camera that records to a removable 8GB SD card. The device features motion activated recording and records in MPEG-4 mode and can snap Jpeg images for a longer recording time. Images and video can be stamped with the time and date.

This old school retro TV looking thing is actually an alarm clock that will wake you up with classic game show themes and color changing text patterns. Luckily it includes a remote so you can shut it off quickly. It doesn’t say which game show themes it plays, but rest assured they are going to be annoying.

Meet the Room Tech Beingz Alarm Clock, and Mood Lamp. They’re buddies who collaborate and wake you as a team. The clock’s feet light up, the it opens it’s mouth wide to sound off in one of three different noises to wake you up. It will also move its arms up and down if you don’t get up. It will even play music and do a little dance to the tunes, .so it isn’t completely annoying.

The mood lamp is a bit more calm, with four different brightness settings depending on your mood. It too will dance, and respond to your touch. They sport a very cool retro look, with a modern twist. The pair can even communicate with one another if they’re within 15 feet. The Alarm Clock can get the Lamp to turn on it’s brightest setting. That added with the noise should get you up and make you hate them day after day.

It’s no R2-D2 projector clock, but Coby’s CR-A78 alarm clock is pretty cool in it’s own right, having kind of a 2001/Robot head with a laser look. In addition to the built-in projector that creates a virtual red LED time display on the targeted surface, the clock also has an AM/FM tuner, music alarm option, and a timer function. When I first saw this I thought the price would be expensive, but it’s only a very cheap $13.50. This one will fit right in with all of your other Futuristic looking gadgets.

Another day, another R2-D2 doo-dad to clutter up our lives. We’ll add this one to the droid dossier we’re compiling on the little guy. And for once, R2’s dome is intact and not decapitated. Just barter with some Jawas, bring this clock home to the moisture farm and have him project the time onto your wall.

At least having the time projected onto your wall makes it easy to see at night, plus you don’t have any shelf space left since your shelves have become a landing pad for Star Wars vehicles. The R2-D2 Projection Alarm Clock from Wesco Limited will be released in October and can now be pre-ordered. Should you be cleaning him one day with a screwdriver, just ignore any holographic messages he plays. Because the hot chick is probably your sister anyway and it will all lead to a lot of planet hopping, Jedi training and bad prequels. Wouldn’t you rather just kick back and have some blue milk?

Who says alarm clocks need be ordinary? That is the thought behind the new iHome iH41, a rotating alarm clock with iPod touch dock priced at around $80.

The iHome iH41 comes in an L-shape design and is built to take advantage of the variable aspect screen of the iPod touch. It can switch orientation so one can watch videos in either horizontal or vertical displays. The digital clock display also rotates to match the orientation of the iH41.

We’ve covered alarm clocks that wake you with bird songs, clocks that wake you up by cooking bacon even. Here’s one that wakes you with various smells. I know what you’re thinking, doesn’t my significant other already wake me with smells? Especially after a Mexican dinner? Not that kind.

The Osim Nioi alarm clock awakes you with gentle smells as it emits either a lavender or rose fragrance in the night to help you sleep better. It uses other smells like freshly baked bread to rouse you in the morning. Each smell comes in a smell canister. Designer Alfie Lake’s concept isn’ton store shelves, but if all goes well he’ll smell ya later. Or you him. Or you bread.

The alarm clock is one of those things many of us really don’t give much thought to — I know I don’t. My house is jammed with all sorts of high-tech goodies, yet I am rocking the same alarm clock that used to wake me up for high school. Maybe it’s time for me to upgrade to one of these cool new Memorex clocks.

Memorex announced a pair of new alarm clocks that sport the typical clock requirement of today — an iPod dock. The dock allows both clocks to wake users to tunes from their iPod and it charges the iPod at the same time. The smallest of the pair of clocks is the Memorex Mi4019. It is available in pink, black, or white colors and can wake you to a buzzer, AM/FM radio or your iPod.

We all hate alarm clocks, but without them we would all just show up at work whenever we managed to rouse ourselves out of our slumber. Probably around 1 or 2 PM. The makers of the Wake n’ Bacon alarm clock want you to feel good about waking up.

And what could be better then waking up to the smell of sizzling bacon. It works like this: At bedtime you insert a slice of uncooked bacon. It will begin cooking ten minutes before the alarm goes off, so you can wake up to some artery clogging pig meat. It’s kind of disgusting and yet a monument to awesomeness at the same time.

Chances are you’re looking for a clock that will wake you up more gently then the Dumbbell Alarm Clock. This alarm clock from Philips should do the trick.

If you happen to live in an area that doesn’t have a radio station that caters to your musical taste, your only real options are MP3s, CDs or Internet radio. CDs are too old school for the geeky among us, MP3s are cool but can get expensive if you’re not into messing with RIAA so Internet radio looks like a good option.

The catch is that your boring clock radio probably only wakes you up to an annoying beep or FM radio. While a country song might get you out of bed quickly, wouldn’t it be nicer to wake to your favorite music genre? Aluratek has a new clock radio that can wake you to FM, MP3, a beep or Internet radio stations.

After announcing their iPod computer speakers, iHome wants you to know they have Zune love too. iHome’s ZN9 is being called “the world’s first clock radio for the Zune”.

The Zune is no iPod, so the device might be looked at as a bit of a gamble for the company, but iHome should do just fine since they already have plenty of products that cater to the iPod and because no one has bothered to make an alarm clock radio for the Zune until now. It sports a distinctive X-Box shape, which should please X-fans. The price is $99 in July.

Here’s a pretty decent looking and unique alarm clock setup for your iPhone or iPod touch. It was designed specifically for both devices, taking advantage of their screen. This way you have your device and a slick looking clock both on display. Just like all the other docks, the iH41 will charge the player and throw out the audio.

The interesting feature here is that when you turn it on its side to view your device horizontally, the clock on the dock rotates so you can still read the time. The dock has an auxiliary jack that should be compatible with just about any MP3 player if you haven’t jumped on the iWagon yet. It will cost you $79.99 and it ships in July.

This Pole Dancer alarm clock will cost you some zzz’s in the morning, but it won’t cost you dollar bills. Experience a steamy show as soon as you open your eyes. You can pre-order it for £19.99 today, and on May 8 they will ship to single lonely men across the world.

She basically spins round and round with the typical cheesy stripper music playing in the background, so you’ll wake up. I would think that it might make you dream you were at a strip club, only to wake up to your disappointing alarm clock. That’s bound to wake you up pissed off and ready for your day… A day that includes tons of work and no strippers whatsoever…

Designer Jean Hong has a slightly different vision for the Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC), and that vision is the Pix-L. The device functions as both an alarm clock and a browser for your bedside. If you want to view it on your nightstand, you can prop up the mini-screen or turn it around for a better angle from above, that way it’s ideal for viewing while you’re lying on your stomach.

Just let it wake you up in the morning, then detach the PC from its stand for portable computing. Even the color scheme shown here is super nice. I would be very surprised if this designer isn’t working for Microsoft very soon.
