When it comes to being a mobile worker, you need some gear if you are going to be productive at all. You need a notebook, a mobile phone and something to carry all that stuff in. The notebook bag is an important part of your gear and booq has unveiled a cool new laptop bag called the Viper Rush.

The bag comes in XL and M sizes with the M version fitting the 15-inch MacBook and the XL version working for the 17-inch MacBook and 15-inch PCs. The bag is semi ridged and is designed to allow you to work on your laptop without pulling it out of the bag.

Here’s a great accessory for bicyclists and motorcycle riders. It’s basically a wrist mount for your iPhone, so that you don’t have to stop every time you get a call or a message. Just receive your calls, check GPS updates on the route you’re taking and even listen to some tunes and control playback without having to pull over.

Plus it’s just plain cool to have an iPhone mounted to your wrist. Makes you feel important. The whole kit costs about $140 and will come in quite handy without your device being in hand.

You know what the Wii has been missing? The good old old Louisville Slugger. Makes sense when you think about it. Louisville Sluggers are for more than just baseball. I’m thinking a Wii home invasion title, where you wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of a robber. You could get points for different weapon choices. The good old old baseball bat is a favorite of home defense.

Then there’s all of the fighting games where you use a bat. Well, now you’ll be swinging a real one. Well, not real, but better than a plain wiimote. The Force Unleashed is a whole new game when wielding a bat.

Now when you throw your Wiimote at the TV, you can do so in style. This plastic football accessory might even make Madden sell better on the Wii. It comes from CTA Digital, the company behind the Wii bowling ball and iPhone steering wheel. They are no strangers to weird accessories.

This Football for your Wii opens up to hold your Wiimote and the face buttons of your controller are on top of the football. It’s compatible with Madden 10, Madden 09 All-Play, NCAA Football 09 All-Play, and several other football games.

Game console makers apparently entertain every single idea, no matter how silly. The latest patent dreamed up by the big N is a football accessory that holds a Wiimote and nunchuk. The idea is that it could determine throwing angle, power and direction as well as body movements, which are then translated to the game.

It beats an inflatable horse, but do we really need to be breaking more TVs, with fake footballs? It’s just a patent, but you never know. We may see this one down the road. Good idea or not.

This leaked marketing slide spotted over on NeoGAF suggests that we may be getting a bike peripheral sometime soon. I wonder if they will port the arcade hit Paperboy to the Wii so you can peddle away and throw papers or maybe you can ride in the Tour de France.

We don’t know if the image is from Nintendo or from a 3rd-party accessory maker, but it looks a lot more useful than an inflatable horse. Obviously the $89.99 controller is geared toward bike-riding and fitness activities.

The Amazon Kindle is a cool gadget and has been one of the most popular devices on Amazon since it launched. Not too long ago Amazon unveiled a new larger screen Kindle designed with reading newspapers in mind called the Kindle DX.

The Kindle DX lacked any sort of protective cover for the large screen, which meant that if users weren’t careful they could scratch the expensive gadget. A company called M-Edge has announced a new line of cases for the Kindle DX that includes the Executive Jacket and the Platform Jacket.

What you are looking at is a Game Boy hooked up to a nitrous oxide machine, so that this child can be sedated. It’s called the PediSedate and it’s probably a really bad idea.

The PediSedate was designed for use by dentists. Apparently they got bored with putting people under the normal way. The idea is to distract kids with video games while they are drugged for root canal surgery and such. That doesn’t seem creepy at all.

I find the whole Wii peripheral phenomenon fascinating. It’s fun to see what they will come up with next. However, this might be taking things a tad too far. Wii Pom Poms. Of course, it’s for those cheerleading games for the Wii.

You know, Wee Cheer and All Star Cheer squad. Your daughter is probably not playing it as she’s too busy doing the real thing. Wii controllers just look wrong with pom poms attached. The Wii Pom Poms are from Hip Street and will attach to your Wii remote and Nunchuck. This may just be the worst Wii accessory ever.

The Wiimote Controller Pocket is probably the lamest excuse for a Wii accessory we’ve ever seen. This amazing device amounts to little more then a dressed up tissue box that says Wii on it. It’s available in 3 colors and of course the idea is that it can hold your Wiimote and nunchuk. And in it’s off hours, it doubles as a pen holder. At least the product description makes no bones about the fact that it’s lame:

“Anyone can fashion a similar pouch from an empty tissue box, a wonton soup container, a paper bag, or the cardboard box that your GA-KO Alarm Clock arrived in. Sure it won’t look as nice as Hori’s rendition but the functionality is the same and the cardboard box is free.”

Why in the hell you would want to port around a PS3 I have no idea, same thing with the Wii really. But I guess we needed more accessories. Thanks to Clearvision’s new LCD attachment for the PS3 and China Vasion’s version for the Nintendo Wii, you can.

Both screens measure 7 inches and have integrated speakers along with a flip-top design that makes your console look like an oversized handheld. I can’t imagine playing any Wii game with the Wii version. You would have to stand about four feet away and good luck making out anything on that screen. If you wanted to use your Wii as a laptop I guess it would be cool.

Look who’s getting into the Wii action. Microsoft’s been working on a Wiimote type controller and it’s due to come out later this year. They actually began development way back in Summer ‘07. But the process has had it’s share of problems. According to MTV news and their exclusive source, this is what it looks like.

The familiar looking Wiimote has a speaker, microphone, four LED lights, A/B/X/Y face buttons, an analog stick and an underside trigger. The Nintendo Wiimote doesn’t have a Microphone and has a D-pad instead of an analog stick. Rare is the company working on it and they reportedly are trying to come up with a “unified interface and look for the controller.” The problems are between marketers and designers. The marketers basically want a replica of Nintendo’s Wiimote so game developers will want to port Wii games onto the 360. The designers want it more feature-rich and they have an interesting description “Halo, Gears and Forza in waggle form.”

Here’s a freeloader you’ll be happy to have living with you. It won’t eat your food, hog the remote, or even sit around smoking weed like a slacker, while your at work. No, this is the kind of freeloader we like. Apparently, they have been working on this for awhile, and now you can finally have your own region-free enabler for the Wii for only $19.99. Wii FreeLoader allows you to play any GameCube or Wii game from any region on your Wii. Just stick the FreeLoader disc into the Wii, let it do it’s thing, eject the disc and stick in the title you want to play.

Despite the fact that this thing reminds me of the old Nintendo power glove, it’s pretty neat looking, mannequin hands and all. Designer Du Tran Nguyen sees the Verva Vie Sports Glove as the ultimate piece of sporting equipment for the 21st century. How so? The Vie would allow the use of GPS to develop workouts, map routes, and even send out distress beacons(Perish the thought). It has an interface that can be controlled with one hand via strain gauges in the fingers. These interact with an E-ink screen.

It could also be used in sports to communicate plays or share information with other athletes via a handshake. Otherwise known as cheating. On the safety front, it could be used to share health information with a training partner. If there’s danger, a distress signal could be sent to other gloves, or even directly to the police or hospital.(Oh hell, my gloves are tingling, my partner’s in trouble. This sounds like a job for…me! Gloveman!)

We’ve come across our share of Wii accessories, some cool, some odd, all entertaining. So we thought we’d make a list of some of the stranger Wiimote gadgets and celebrate this odd gaming phenomenon. So here’s a list of some of our favorite Wii items Wii either wish for or wish didn’t exist, in no particular order. The Wii sure has brought some strangeness to gaming.
