Wii Sports Resort bundle with two MotionPlus accessoriesThe latest news to hit us from the Tokyo Game Show is this new limited edition Wii Sport Resort bundle that comes with a pair of MotionPlus accessories. The bundle will arrive on October 12th for $60.

So you save $10 if you bought the $50 Sport Resort with MotionPlus and a second $20 MotionPlus separately. Not Earth shattering news, but it’s something from the big N. Wii Sports Resort has already sold more than 1.25 million units in the United States alone, so it’s the least they could do.

PSPGo Converter Cable looks ridiculous

Posted in PSP Go! by Conner Flynn on September 24th, 2009

PSPGo Converter Cable looks ridiculousThe PSP Go isn’t compatible with your current PSP accessories, but Sony has come up with a solution. A ridiculously huge solution. Peripherals like the 1Seg Tuner and GPS Receiver will be able to fit in the Go’s proprietary “Multi use connector.”

The “cable” will wrap around the system, so that PSP Go owners can plug new devices into it. Doesn’t look so portable with the added bulk. Apparently this design is not final and it’s a prototype. Thank god. Hopefully they trim this thing down.

Best Buy has early iPod touch 3rd gen accessories

Posted in iPod Accessories by Conner Flynn on September 8th, 2009

Best Buy has early iPod touch 3rd gen accessories Oops. Best Buy has listings for a number of accessories from Belkin for the as yet unannounced iPod touch 3rd generation. None of the listings mention a digital camera on the back of this new model, but they list six new case lines on their website. Some of those cases sport “hand straps” however, suggesting that it will have a camera.

Following up on rumors that the new model might be delayed, Pocket-lint managed to get a Riverdale New Jersey Walmart to comment that they were expecting the “newer” iPod touch models at the “end of the month.”

Mad Catz unveils Modern Warfare 2 accessoriesMad Catz is going all out for the release of the Modern Warfare 2 game this November. They’ve announced some new accessories to enhance gameplay, including some custom controllers, a “Throat Communicator”, mice, faceplates and “skinz”.

Officially licensed Star Wars lightsaber and blaster accessories for the Wii

Officially licensed Star Wars lightsaber and blaster accessories for the WiiWe know that you like to get all nerdy with your Wii on occasion and swing around a lightsaber while your little dog looks on in his Princess Leia slave costume. Well, if you’re going to nerd out, you may as well do it with officially licensed Wii accessories.

We’ve seen our share of Wii lightsabers, but they just aren’t endorsed by Lucas’ money machine. This one is. This lightsaber glows, and Bensussen Deutsch & Associates have plans for a matching blaster too. The accessories don’t make room for MotionPlus, but so what. They’ll be shipping with Star Wars - The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, a game that doesn’t support MotionPlus.

PSP Go forces you to buy all-new accessories

Posted in PSP Go! by Conner Flynn on June 8th, 2009

PSP Go forces you to buy all-new accessoriesSony has a bunch of accessories that will be available for PSP Go when it hits US shelves on October 1. The usual stuff, like cases, wrist straps, Sony-branded screen protectors etc. Problem is the handheld doesn’t have a standard mini USB port like the PSP-3000, so you will have to buy all new accessories.

The PSP Go has a new multifunction port on its base that is used for everything, whether it’s data transfer, charging or video output. Asking owners of the older model to change a USB cable would have been fine, we think. But the fact that components like A/V cables, voice headsets and pretty much anything made to work with the 3000, are completely incompatible is a real slap in the face to PSP owners.

Leather chair hides your Billiards accessories

Leather chair hides your Billiards accessoriesDamn their hides. The rich have all the cool things. Like this leather chair that takes up a bunch of space and only seats one. That’s because the rest of the chair is devoted to hiding some of your other rich accessories, like your billiards stuff.

It helps keep your overpriced pad all neat and tidy. Who cares that it looks freakish and pompous and only seats one. If you want two people to be able to sit during a Billiards game, you’ll just buy two and store some more expensive stuff in the second one. Ahhh, it’s good to be rich and buy fugly things.

New Wii accessories from NykoNyko has unveiled new accessory packs for their Wand 3rd-Party Wiimote. You can get the Wand Action Pak and the the Wand Core Pak. The Wand Action Pak includes a Wand Wiimote and Pistol Grip. The new pistol grip has a digital connection to the remote instead of the usual mechanical connection to a button. It’s Trans-Port so they claim it will reduce wear and tear. There is also a switch on the bottom of the grip that can flip the A and B buttons for use in different games. That’s probbly the best part.

Micro Innovations goes all bamboo

Micro Innovations goes all bambooTwo creatures love bamboo a whole lot. Pandas and eco-loving hippies. I make fun, but both creatures are smart, because bamboo grows super fast so chopping it down to be used in electronic devices, or to eat, is a good idea. Micro Innovations is the latest company to feature accessories made with a bamboo shell.

Those accessories include speakers, a card reader, a webcam, USB hub, keyboard and a mouse. Hopefully the guts of these devices are a little greener as well, not just the casing. These should be available in an electronics store near you around April or May.

New PS3 accessories add a Joystick, use of Xbox 360 controllers

New PS3 accessories add a Joystick, use of Xbox 360 controllersThere aren’t many arcade-style joysticks available for the PS3, probably because there aren’t many fighting games on the console. That are worth playing anyway. Despite this, the XCM Dominator is headed our way. No price or availability just yet.

Another addition is this strange XCM Cross Battle Adapter hub. It lets PS3 owners synch up their wired Xbox 360 controllers and play games using them. It will cost you $40. This might be a little more useful since it’s a better controller, but won’t you be plagued by mapping issues? Hell if I know.

My mouse pad serves but one function – to provide a surface for my rodent to glide around. Most people would feel that’s enough, but for those desiring more you can take the Zonet ZUP8020 Multifunctional Mouse Pad for a spin.

This Zonet mouse pad, usefully most likely if you are tight on space, also offers you a four port USB 2.0 hub, stereo speakers, an integrated microphone, headphone output and audio input. All of this is built right into the pad, along with blue light which glows when you plug the mouse pad in. If you desire one, it will cost you around $20 at Amazon.
