Toshiba’s Android-powered AC100 Netbook now available for order in the UK

Many Toshiba fans have no doubt been drooling over the company’s AC100 Android-powered netbook and waiting patiently to get their hands on it. Well, it’s now available to order. You’ll need £293 (or $451 yankee dollars) for the Wi-Fi-only version.

The 3G version is called the 10U, is currently still in development, so you’ll need to wait on that one. In the meantime, the Wi-Fi version will give you a 10-inch display, Android 2.1, NVIDIA dual-core Tegra 250 chip, 512MB of RAM, Up to 8-hours of battery life, 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1 and HDMI output.

Toshiba AC100 Android Netbook with seven days of standby battery life

Toshiba’s AC100 is the company’s first machine to run on Android, and packs an amazing eight hours of battery, or up to seven days of standby life.

It runs on an NVIDIA Tegra 250 chip, with 512MB of DDR2 RAM, and 8GB NAND flash memory. The SD/MMC card reader expands the storage and the 1.3MP webcam with microphone will have you using video-chatting. It’s running Android 2.1 Eclair, has a 10.1-inch TruBrite screen with LED-backlighting, and 1,024 x 600 resolution and weighs 870g.
