$99 8GB iPhone 3GS for Christmas? All you want for Christmas is an iPhone for yourself right? But it’s too expensive, what with all of the other gifts you need to buy. How does an 8GB iPhone 3GS for $99 sound?

This one resides in rumor territory for now, but word is that Apple is toying with the idea of releasing the device for $99 in an effort to combat Motorola’s DROID. A cheaper iPhone 3GS is always welcomed, even if it is just an 8GB version, at least it gives users another option.

Palm Pre may initially be a Best Buy ExclusiveHere’s some good news for Pre fans who haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet. The newest Best Buy ad shows the handset on sale for just $99 on a two-year contract. That’s $100 less than the previous price. The timing is interesting. This comes just a few days after Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said that “it’s too early to tell” if the Pre’s a hit.

Well, this should put his mind at ease and boost sales. The question is, is this just a one-week sale or a permanent price drop? You better grab one quick, just in case.

$99 Blu-ray players hitting this year

Samsung thinks Blu-Ray will be dead in 5 yearsYou folks who have been putting off the purchase of a new Blu-ray player can finally lay down your money and get a great deal if you hold off just a little while longer. Say, around Christmas. That’s when the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) will make the technology and licensing available to manufacturers in China, which means the usual. Cheap products. Hopefully you pick one that is quality as well as cheap.

Around that time you should see affordable $99 Blu-ray players hitting the market. What’s the poor PS3 gonna do when it isn’t the cheapest Blu-ray player anymore? Shake a tin cup at you as you enter Gamestop? This also means that prices for Blu-ray discs should lower some.

BlackBerry Storm price drops to $99 on Amazon, no rebate requiredLooks like the touch screen BlackBerry Storm has dropped to $99 on Amazon with no rebate required. Previously the price had been $249.99 with a $100 rebate, which brought the total to $149.99. It’s probably a result of Amazon competing against Verizon’s own buy one get one free sale going on through March 31, 2009.

If you don’t need two BlackBerry Storms, then why not head over to Amazon and get one for $99 (after a 2 year new subscriber agreement). I guess this should make anyone who wants one very happy.

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on December 4th, 2008

Wal-Mart to Sell $99 4GB iPhone? So, you’ve been waiting for the iPhone to hit Walmart, so you can stock up on paper towels, buy a DVD and throw an iPhone in your squeaky cart all at once. Well you’re in luck assuming you didn’t get killed by greedy shoppers during black Friday. Looks like Apple will begin selling the iPhone at Wal-Marts on December 28th.

Wal-Mart employees are apparently already receiving training on iPhone activation. Today Boy Genius Report claims that Apple may be reintroducing the 4GB iPhone to be sold at Wal-Mart for only $99 with a two year contract. They aren’t completely confident about the report, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the Walmart training materials pictured above have been seen so that suggests there is some truth to it.
