I love Vintage radios and 8-Tracks. Many just have a retro design that can’t be beat. The kind of style that no one is delivering today. The only thing better than a well designed vintage 8-Track player would be one that was modified as an iPod dock.

That’s exactly what we have here. This instructable shows you how to do it. Clearing out an 8-Track’s guts to to hold the contents of an iPod dock isn’t all that hard. The most important thing is that you start off with a great vintage device.

The 8-Track may be long dead, but it’s not forgotten. Just ask Cheap Trick. It lives on in the hearts and minds of a generation that loved Disco, turntables and Three’s Company.

And while a portable 8-track walkman seems like a ridiculous idea, someone has actually gone and done it. Of course, it isn’t tiny, but it’s probably the most portable 8-track player ever made. At least that we know of.

Cheap Trick are living up to their name. Their latest trick is that their newest album will be released on an 8-track tape. Hows that for gimmicky marketing? On one hand, no one will ever hear your songs, but on the other, your stunt will get all kinds of publicity for when the tracks hit iTunes.

It will cost you $30 if you still own an 8-Track player. The new album is comprised of 12 songs broken into four sets of three songs each. It must have been hard to edit them to adhere to the four 10-minute slots on a standard 8-track.
