Acer entered the smartphone market just a few months ago, but sadly they’re now having problems with several U.S. carriers, which means we most likely won’t see any smartphones in the U.S. from the company until next year.

According to Acer’s PR people, they don’t have any phones planned for the U.S. until 2010 now. It sucks for those of us in the states because other countries are already getting their hands on the devices.

When you have several prototypes rejected by carriers here in America, it might be time to try China. And that’s just what Michael Dell is doing. Reuters is reporting that Dell is aiming to launch multiple smartphones in the Chinese market before 2010.

A pair of analysts are saying that the firm is working with Chi Mei Communications for the hardware, while China-based Red Office is engineering the OS. Apparently if the China rollout goes good, the US and Europe are on Dell’s list of next-up launch markets.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings says that by late this year or in 2010, Netflix might let users get rid of the red envelopes and subscribe just to their streaming service. Reed realizes that in order to maintain their current level of success, it has to “nail” the streaming aspect.

Most of us envision streaming becoming more popular in the coming years. It’s faster cheaper and it’s great for them if they can strong-arm studios into providing new releases for download. There was no talk of pricing, but Netflix has always been pretty fair.

Sure, we’ve heard it all when it comes to Ford jokes. Found On Road Dead, Fix Or Repair Daily, etc. Say what you like about Ford, you can’t deny the coolness of their SmartGauge LCD panels in their new 2010 hybrids.

Instead of the usual boring analog dials, Ford gives you a LCD screen cluster and even some animations. Notice the fuel gauge. Nice to look at, easy to find and functional. The best part about using an LCD display is that it’s fairly customizable. You can display battery charge, GPS and Satellite radio coverage, maybe even current mp3 track information. Of course there’s the usual boring MPH and RPM indicators. They just don’t look boring.

T3 Magazine commissioned some future designs for their “future tech” feature. Here’s a Wii concept for 2010, which is right around the corner. Apparently blue hair is all the rage in the future. And I’m guessing that her bra has bluetooth to control some game by pure boob boucing and nipple position.

It should be noted that in 2010 brainwaves are used to control characters with some head gear, which also sports in-ear headphones. It’s nice to see the Wiimote all thin and streamlined, with just one button too. I’m looking forward to blue haired girl gamers gripping my Wiimote in 2010. Thank you Nintendo. Thank you future.
