Wireless iPhone 4 alarm dock does nothing, but looks good doing it

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on May 19th, 2011

See that alarm dock for your iPhone 4? It does nothing at all. Just holds your iPhone 4 and gives it a place to call home while you sleep or do other things. Just sits there like… Well, like a lump of wood. It comes from designer Jonas Damon and is made from beautiful beach wood.

Your iPhone is going to act as your alarm clock either way right? Might as well give it a decent spot to sit in and class up your place. It won’t charge your device, won’t pump out awesome sound, but it does come with a free app to turn your iPhone into one of those clocks with the flipping numbers.

Your very own Walnut Neo Geo MVS for $649

Posted in gaming accessories by Conner Flynn on April 18th, 2011

This Neo Geo MVS arcade system from Analogue Interactive is made from 100 percent real walnut. The design is sweet and stylish. But do you really want to pay $649 for an old console encased in wood? Then again, that is the same price that the original Neo Geo AES home console sold for when it came out and that didn’t look nearly this awesome.

It’s your call, but to some of us this is bound to be just another thing to spray Pledge on and wipe down. Plus, termites could theoretically kill this thing. But if you are interested, the first units should ship next month.

Wasabi Wooden cases for iPad

Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on March 31st, 2011

Want to spruce up your now outdated old iPad? The best way to do that is to upgrade to the iPad 2, but if you don’t want to do that, then here’s a way to give it an external makeover. The Wasabi collection features five ukiyo-e (woodblock print) designs by the famous 19th century Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai.

My only concern with these is that they seem like they would be heavy. They’re made from African mahogany and will cost you $272 each. Yikes. Heavy and expensive. But they are pretty.

Posted in Netflix by Conner Flynn on March 15th, 2011

The show is called House of Cards. The deal is apparently still being negotiated but Netflix will be committing to two seasons which could cost it more than $100 million. This deal if true, puts the company directly in competition with the pay-TV business. Move over HBO and showtime.

Krator Neso 04 speakers inspired by Sydney Opera House

Posted in Speakers by Conner Flynn on March 7th, 2011

While these speakers are inspired by the Sydney Opera House, they look like they belong in Star Trek. They are some good looking speakers, that’s for sure. Most speakers are pretty ugly. There’s the Neso 04 Drop to the nature, the Neso 04 Surrealism and the Neso 2, which is handcrafted from wood. The best ones are the Neso 04 Opera House, pictured above.

No idea how expensive these will be, but they will likely cost quite a bit since you don’t see good looks like this often in the world of speakers.
