Today we got a chance to go hands-on with the DSM-330 DivX Connected HD Media Player that D-Link debuted last month. This media player is a handy piece of wireless-capable hardware that bridges the gap between your computer and your TV bringing your downloaded digital media into the living room at up to 720p, and in our tests it did so with ease.

Antec has unveiled a new computing kit for those wishing to upgrade their existing PCs into being more multimedia focused. It is called the Antec Multimedia Station and there will be four models available, ranging in price from around $30 to $120.

Antec said these four new bundles, which include  IR receiver, remote and media management software, offer “1080p resolution, can play nearly all media formats and is compatible with Windows Media Center Edition, Windows Vista and XP.” More details on the four offerings can be found after the jump via Antec.

Tritton earlier this week unveiled a external video card which is Mac-compatible via USB 2.0. It is called the Tritton SEE2 Xtreme and pricing is set around $120.

The Tritton SEE2 Xtreme is an external box-formed video card which uses USB 2.0 to work with up to six additional displays (one card per display, four maximum with Apple computers). The company said this device, though originally designed for use with Windows XP and Vista, is now also compatible with the Mac OS. It offers support for up to 1920 x 1200 resolution for DVI and VGA.

Kingston Technology is getting colorful and miniature with some new USB flash drives tied to its DataTraveler line. These are called the Kingston DataTraveler Mini Slims and you’ll find them pricing around $11 for 2GB or $19 for 4GB.

The Kingston DataTraveler Mini Slim come in three different colors, including black, blue and pink. Memory capacity goes up to 4GB of storage and the drive measures 1.529- x 0.645- x 0.253-inches, making it one small device. It is definitely something you’ll have to be careful not to lose.

Jointech has announced a Windows CE laptop which is pretty cheap when you look at what it has to offer. The Jointech JL7100 is priced at what looks to be around $100 (whether that is American or Hong Kong currency is unknown).

The Jointech JL7100 sports a 7-inch display capable of 800 x 480 VGA resolution. It runs Windows CE 5.0 and includes many of the typical Microsoft applications of that OS, including Word, Excel, Media Player and Internet Explorer. Keep in mind that this is not a full Windows XP or Vista laptop, so your choices for installing other types of software will be limited.

Samsung this week began showcasing a new extender for Windows Media Center which looks decidedly more stylish than similar products on the market. It is called the Samsung MediaLive and to get one you’ll have to cough up around $200.

The Samsung MediaLive lets you stream either wired or wirelessly, including HD content, from a PC equipped with Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate. It is designed to be paired with most 2008-model Samsung HDTVs, though I imagine you can use it with most any teleivsion which has the correct A/V inputs and HD support.

AOC earlier this month rolled out a new 22-inch display which the maker things will give your PC a bit of that old Mac touch. It is called the AOC 2218Ph and pricing is said to be around $430.

The AOC 2218Ph sports “state-of-the-art metallic workmanship, piano-black bezel, polished aluminum cabinet and zinc multi-flex stand.” If that doesn’t jump up and make you say “that looks like a Mac!” than we don’t know what will. Seriously though, the 2218Ph looks pretty cool, even if the marketing is somewhat flawed.

The migration form the desktop PC to the notebook PC has been very noticeable to PC makers. Notebook computers commonly outsell their desktop brethren, but that doesn’t mean there is no place for the desktop PC today.

Acer is looking to lure businesses who need small form factor computers, but don’t want or need to go to typically more expensive notebook systems with its new Veriton S461. The S461 is a small system measuring in at 4” W x 16.3” D x 13.6” high. Acer also packs the computer with features that are appealing to businesses.

Gaming notebooks are known for a few things—power, gaming performance and a high price. Your typical gaming notebook will often cost three times or more the amount that you can get a normal notebook for. Not all notebooks for gaming are hugely expensive though and Toshiba has introduced a new gaming machine that has a very reasonable price.

The new Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q701 is a Best Buy exclusive system that retails for $1,549.99. The machine has Toshiba’s slick looking fiery finish with Rouge design. Graphics for the notebook are via NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GTS discrete card and the CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 processor.

Master modder TiTON’s latest Team Fortress mod recreates a TF2 sentry. Less deadly, but very impressive. It might even be too pretty to use. This life size Valve-inspired mod is simply awesome. This one is impressive enough, but he plans on building a teleporter pad to accompany the set, and also a Windows Vista Sideshow-enabled touchscreen attachment disguised as a Sapper.

Worldwide computer manufacturer ASUS was showcasing last week a new laptop which more on the rugged side in terms of durability. It is known as the ASUS B51 and no pricing or availability information is known of as yet.

The ASUS B51 sports a lightweight magnesium alloy chassis which is buffered by rubber bumpers along its edges. The B51’s hard drive is “floated on a sponge protection system.”

SimTech Systems, developers of the MindMapper creativity and personal productivity software, have taken MindMapper portable. It is know available as the MindMapper 2008 USB Edition, priced at around $150.

The MindMapper 2008 USB Edition comes in the form of software installed on a 4GB USB flash drive. It automatically starts up when you plug in the drive, eliminating the need to install the software on your PC.

The concept behind all-in-one PCs is interesting to me. You cram everything a PC needs inside the LCD case and save space on the floor and make things more attractive overall. The downside of an all-in-one design is that they tend to offer less performance than can be had on traditional computers and they tend to cost more than similar standard computers.

Today Averatec announced its first all-in-one computer and it is simply called the Averatec All-In-One. The computer has a 22-inch display and inside the display case is crammed 2GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD, built-in HDTV tuner and more. The computer is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 CPU and uses a discrete NVIDIA GeForce 8400 for graphics.

For many students around the country summer vacation has just started. The cold, hard reality of it is that back to school is just around the corner. To help make back to school a bit more tolerable Gateway is announcing new desktop and notebook computers.

Gateway is offering multiple new models of desktop and notebook systems that will retail from $549.99 to $1149.99. The three lines of Gateway notebooks; the P-Series, M-Series, and T-series are all offering new configurations. One new configuration in the M-series is the M-6848 featuring a Core 2 Duo T5750, 4GB of RAM and more for $799.99.

Toshiba this week announced it had updated select models of its Satellite laptops with new processor technology and other features. These models include the Satellite P300, Satellite A300, Satellite M300 and Satellite U400.

These updated Toshiba Satellite laptops feature Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo processor technology in addition to other enhancements such as “sleep-and-charge” USB ports and face recognition. You can get the full details via a Toshiba press release after the jump.
