Las Vegas Hosts Worlds Largest Tech Show |
Today was the opening day of Consumer Electronics Show 2007 (CES). As you’ve no doubt noticed we’ve been bringing you coverage and news from the show.
The three day event hosts close to 3,000 companies and about 150,000 people. The show is centered at the Las Vegas Convention Center but it also spills over into surrounding casinos.

At first glance you might think the new Sony VAIO VGX-TP1 is a new product from Apple with the white color and unusual shape, but Sony has taken a new direction in desktop design with this cylinder shaped design.
LaCie announced the release of its new external Blu-ray capable DVD Burner. Named the “LaCie d2 Blu-ray Drive,” it supports external connection via either USB or FireWire. LaCie made the announcement at CES 2007. The company is claiming that the d2 is one of the first of its kind.

Windows Vista, the latest and greatest OS from Microsoft, hasn’t even been released to general consumers yet and experts are finding vulnerability exploits and related code being sold and discussed on the internet through underground sites. This operating system has been touted by Microsoft as being the most secure operating system yet, but the security has been brought into question due to some flaws reported on a Russian and US sites recently.
Today Adobe has announced that on Friday it will release a beta version of Adobe Photoshop CS3. Probably the most significant point in this release (and the driving point in our post) is the fact that it is a universal binary version allowing it to run on Mac’s with the new Intel chip, and and at the same time not forgetting about their Windows customers by supporting XP and Vista. Adobe says this is to allow a smoother transition to newer hardware platforms, namely the Mac.
Lenovo has released the ThinkPad T60, the first 15.4-inch widescreen in Lenovo’s T Series of notebook computers. According to Lenovo, the T60 weighs in at only 5.1 pounds, making it the lightest 15.4-inch widescreen notebook among the top five PC vendors.
