Most people use their phones as a watch these days, but not as many use their watch as a phone. This is changing as watches can do more. The sWaP Rebel is first and foremost a watch. One that has cellphone functionality, a touchscreen color display, a built-in camera, FM radio and Bluetooth connectivity among other features.

The price isn’t too bad at £190 and you can choose from black, pink, orange, white and green colors, but it won’t replace your primary handset. It’s always nice to see watches doing more and more though.

Holy crap. What’s with that model’s eyes? She looks like she is about to sprout vampire teeth and drink my blood. Probably without even having hot vampire sex with me. Would you buy a phone from her? It’s creepy. It’s like I’m being threatened to buy or else her and her husband, the Joker will have their way with me while Batman watches.

Anyway, the Samsung Wave has already hit the UK last month, but folks in the US have yet to get their hands on it. Now Amazon is offering the smartphone to US customers for $440 without a contract commitment.

Citizen Japan has introduced the I:Virt M series TM84-0351V and TM84-0352V Bluetooth-enabled watches in the Japanese market. With these watches, you can read e-mails up to 210 characters directly on the watch, as well as control your cell phone’s volume, accept or reject calls, display your cell phone’s battery level and be notified of incoming calls.

Both watches are capable of magnifying the text up to 14pt from its original size. The Citizen TM84-0351V sports a leather band, while the Citizen TM84-0352V sports a stainless steel band.

At some point we need to draw the line on crazy watches that have displays you need a mathematics degree and an instruction manual to read. I want my clock to have numbers and just tell me what time it is, not impress my friends by how complicated it is.

Tokyoflash has unveiled its latest, and very complicated new watch called the Instant Trend. The thing has the expected majorly complex face to show what time it is. It also has a normal readout that can show the time in up to four zones at once.

TokyoFlash, those makers of all kinds of wacky and fun watches, have done it again. Now they have created an E-ink display watch to accompany the current e-book craze. Looks pretty sweet. The E Clock can tell the time using normal numbers, or by using patterns of dashes and lines if you like to be mysterious.

It will connect via Bluetooth to your phone, alerting you to calls and texts through vibration or a blinking indicator. It might not look like it, but the band is made from flexible stainless steel. If enough people vote for it, they will make it and offer it up. What do you think?

Remember that rumor about RIM working on a Bluetooth watch to accompany its phones? Well looky here. We may now have the first real renderings of the final product. It may be called the “inPulse” and it features an OLED display, real-time message preview, and probably caller ID.

Looks like the watch isn’t being developed by RIM. Instead, work has been farmed out to a company dedicated to the BlackBerry aftermarket. An official announcement is coming “soon.” Thing is, Bluetooth watches haven’t been great sellers, but maybe more compatibility with the Blackberry is the trick.

Citizen has announced a new Bluetooth watch, the AIBATO M. What’s interesting about this one is that it wirelessly connects to your cellphone and can, with selected handsets, remotely trigger the camera, browse emails and show call and message alerts. It comes in two colors. Black (with a rubber strap) and silver (with a metal strap).

The watches charge using an included desk-stand. A full battery is good for up to five days. It will give you audio and visual alerts and can even vibrate. Various Sharp and Softbank handsets are supported, but it’s unclear whether it will also work without the more complex camera control on other devices.

Tokyoflash watches are famous for their amazing designs. We’ve featured many of them on this site. Often amazing detailed and beautiful, they also keep time in unique ways. They are more like wearing futuristic artwork than wearing a watch.

What do you do when people are no longer buying cars due to the economy being in the toilet? You get the hell out, that’s what. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll make something that people are still buying. Like phones and watches. If you’re Hyundai you offer both in one package.

The MB-910 timepiece is actually a tri-band GSM/GPRS mobile phone with around three hours of talk time, 70 hours on standby and polyphonic ringtones. No video calls sadly, but it does have a 132 x 176 touchscreen able to display WAP-captured content, SMS and MMS messages, and videos.

Casio is a name more associated with watches and Hello Kitty phones than quality cell phones, but that doesn’t mean they can’t deliever one. This new 5 megapixel shooter from Casio is known as the Exilim C721, keeping the name of Casio’s line of digital cameras.

It features autofocus capability and a high resolution WVGA rotating display that makes it more natural to capture images while using a phone. The image quality and features won’t be as good as a standalone digital camera, but what are you gonna do?

Watches today do more than watches could do in the past. I have seen watches that have cell phones built-in and watches that connect to the Internet. Garmin is a brand closely associated with GPS devices, but the company has a wider range of products and has introduced a new watch.

It would be easy to assume that the new watch offers GPS capability, but it doesn’t. The watch monitors data from your workouts and saves it for wireless transmission to your computer for analysis. The watch is compatible with any ANT+ fitness device like heart rate monitors, foot pods, or home and gym equipment.

Hardcore fans of James Bond have another piece of gear to add to their growing collection. Sure, you have the laptop, you also have the James Bond villain watches, but you don’t have this phone.

KDDI will release the limiited edition W63S cell phone with a special 007 Quantum of Solace design from AU. The handset is priced at €110 with a contract and features an internal 2.7 inch organic EL WQVGA display with an external 1.1 inch organic EL display, 100MB internal memory, 1Seg support, EZ FeliCa, and has a 3MP shooter.

We knew that eventually a watch phone would show up that packs in all of the features we want.Turns out that it’s LG who has accomplished this with their LG-GD910 model. The phone sports a touchscreen LCD, 3G data, and a built-in camera for videoconferencing and looking cool.

Of course using that 1.43-inch screen, it might be tough to browse the internet, but it’s all about looking cool, not what you can actually accomplish. You can’t get one now and we don’t have a price yet, but LG should be showing it off at CES next month. They plan a release in Japan and Europe, but that’s all we know.

The C-watch is the latest in cell watches and probably one of the better looking ones with a touchscreen. Some of the features include: Dual Sim Card Support, It will hold two cellular phone numbers, Bluetooth Enabled for headsets, remotes, and data transfer, 1.3 MP Digital Camera, Handwriting Functionality, MP3 Player, Video Recorder, Integrated stylus. It will cost you a whooping $399.99.

What is this new pretty thing? Surely that’s too nice to be a phone. It’s Motorola’s latest, the premium Aura handset, and it’s all about design. It was inspired by high end swiss watches. The phone’s switch blade design all by itself is driven by over 200 parts and 130 of them are ball bearings used to open the handset up to an estimated 100,000 times before failure. It doesn’t end there.

The display is the work of fine engineering too. Just 1.55-inches in diameter, it’s the “world’s first” circular cellphone screen and features 16 million colors and 300 dpi clarity. I guess it doesn’t hurt that it’s coated with 62-carat sapphire crystal too, in order to prevent scratching. The phone is quad band with GPRS and EDGE featuring 7.3 hours of talk time, 2GB, AGPS, stereo Bluetooth, microUSB port, and 2MP camera. It will be available starting December 4th for $2,000.
