This stunning watch design comes from designer Samuel Jerichow and is called the Hexagons LED watch concept. The watch uses neon tube-like hexagons to form shapes that display the time.

The hours are displayed in green, while minutes are in cyan. Users can also choose between 5 different difficulty settings. This one is nice and stylish and hopefully it goes into production one day soon. It stands out from the crowd.

Sports fans will now have a special treat on the Xbox. Microsoft has confirmed plans to launch an updated version of the ESPN service on Xbox Live on Aug. 25. One of the most interesting new features is a split-screen view for watching two games at once.

The pdate coincides with the college football season. Other new features include a mini guide at the bottom of the screen, and the ESPN “BottomLine” news and score ticker that we all know and love. ESPN on Xbox 360 is free to Xbox Live Gold members who connect through participating broadband providers.

With so many Wiis collecting dust, who would have thought that a quarter of all Netflix subscribers stream on the Wii? I guess HD doesn’t matter for these people.

Most viewers prefer to watch instantly using a PC for both Netflix and Hulu. Wii viewers will only increase as a new console is coming soon. And besides Mad Men is now available as well. Who needs to watch that in 1080p?

Netflix and Hulu dominate entirely separate sectors of digital streaming, according to a Nielsen study. Both are now available on many platforms, but Netflix is the dominant one on non-PCs, including iPads, game consoles, and media hubs, ranging from a three-to-one ratio on Apple’s tablet to seven or eight times higher.

Hulu isn’t a lame duck though. They win on computers, often by a wide margin, with 89 percent of its viewers watching on a computer versus just 42 percent of Netflix owners wanting to do the same. Networked media hubs like Roku boxes and smartphones were a close race, though they have a smaller viewing audience as a whole.

The Casio GB-6900 has passed through the FCC. The device features Bluetooth 4.0 that will last up to two years on a single battery assuming that Bluetooth communications are used for 12 hours per day. The device will feature Casio’s Touch Solar technology that will recharge the watch when it is exposed to sun or artificial light.

Casio’s prototype version of the device featured incoming call and email alerts, a finder function and wireless time synchronization via Bluetooth. Casio is also working on sports, heath, home entertainment and communications applications for the device.

Netflix announced that it is integrating with Facebook, which will allow subscribers to share what they watch through the streaming service on the social network.

This integration is coming for users in Latin America and Canada, but not for those in the U.S. That’s because of the the Video Privacy Protection Act, a 1988 law that forbids the disclosure of people’s video rental information. Companies that violate the law are liable up to $2,500 for each infraction.

Tokyoflash has yet another neat concept watch in the Right Angle LCD watch. It takes some outside of the box thinking to tell the time with this one as usual. Just flick your wrist to change the angle and reading the numbers will become clear.

The time is shown digitally with Hours-Minutes-Seconds-Milliseconds, but the layout of the numbers on the display is stretched so it distorts the image. Pretty neat and we are sure this one will go into production at some point.

We’ve been waiting patiently for Netflix streaming on the 3DS, and it looks like tomorrow’s eShop update will out the service officially. If you still plan on using Netflix since the new rates were announced yesterday, anyway.

If you plan to keep using Netflix, then you’ll be able to use it anywhere as long as you are in range of a WiFi signal. So how many of you will be watching Netflix on your 3DS?

This is interesting. The Skype install code points toward a music application called Vibes. This piece of code all but confirms it. Facebook will be launching a new application called Vibes. As in good vibes. It connects with a music download dialog in the page, apparently.

This news coincides with Spotify’s announcement that it is launching in the US. And a Spotify-Facebook partnership has been rumored. The “Vibes” name makes sense too: The Skype deal was called “Peeps”. I think we can safely expect a launch by the end of summer. This will be interesting to watch.

Star Wars fans will love this Tatooine watch almost as much as they love the planet. Back in the old days, movies were more authentic and had more style since you had to build highly detailed props instead of using green screen. Scenes had depth and character. As you might remember Lucas traveled to Tunisia, where he built the Lars homestead, which still stands in the same spot all these years later.

But the forces of nature have not been kind. It needs help. That’s why some fans have banded together to save it, through Kickstarter. They have already reached their goal, but the more help they get, the better. If you pledge $77 you’ll receive an official Lars Expedition Wristwatch, which will contain sand from the location. That makes this a kind of Holy Star Wars relic.

Tokyoflash’s latest watch design uses words to tell the time. It is called the Kisai Kaidoku. No numbers here. Just a watch that Scrabble fans and vocabulary teachers will appreciate.

So how do you tell the time with words? Just read the flashing words and you will know what time it is. The date can be read in the same way by pressing the lower button. I prefer good old numbers myself, but it’s a neat watch.

When you go jogging, the less equipment that you take the better. VEA’s new Sportive mobile watch aims to lighten your load. It has some basic phone functionality, a camera, and an MP3 player. It’s also a clock, of course.

Some other features include a 1.5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, 8GB of storage, and an SOS button that sends out your location and other vital info. It’s available on July 14th for €399 ($578). Joggers should love this device.

Dick Tracy has had a phone watch for years. Now you can too. The Burg 5 Watch allows you to slip a SIM card inside and make and receive phone calls for 60 minutes at a time. It comes in Royal Blue, Lipstick Red, Jet Black, Baby Pink and Apple White. Around the outside of the dial are buttons numbered one to nine along with a call button and dismiss button. The SIM card slips into the side of the watch.

It also has a built-in microphones and speakers, but since there is no display you will have to be able to remember every phone number you want to dial. At least the speaker calls out the incoming phone number for you so you have some idea of who is calling. It can be yours for £99.99.

The Hauppauge Digital Broadway Box is not what it sounds like. This isn’t a box full of musicals and Broadway shows. It’s a new way to watch live TV on your iPhone and iPad (as well as other mobile devices). It’s basically a small stand alone box that connects to any TV signal and streams live TV wirelessly to mobile devices like your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

Live TV can be watched over your home Wi-Fi network or it can be streamed over the Internet anywhere in the world as long as you have an Internet connection. It will arrive in July or early August for $199.

Are you a video game voyeur? If so, here’s some good news. But first, OnLive plans to launch Android and iOS apps later this year that will let you stream PS3, Xbox, and other console-quality video games from a central server. The new apps will let you play games using a virtual on-screen gamepad or an optional Bluetooth controller. Now to what you want to hear, or in this case, see. While you are waiting for those apps, OnLive already has an iPad app that lets you watch games that others are playing. You peeping gaming Toms you.

The company has released its first OnLive Viewer app for Android, for the HTC Flyer tablet. Looks like it also works on several other devices too, including the NOOK Color, HTC Thunderbolt, Desire HD, Evo 4G, and Droid X.
