Tag Heuer Alligator Skin Android Phone For $6,700

Posted in Mobile Phones by Reuben Drake on June 28th, 2011

Vertu phones. Tag Heuer. Can’t afford them and we don’t really want one anyway. Tag Heuer’s latest offering is an Android smartphone running Android Froyo 2.2. Outdated enough for you?

It will cost you $6,700 to rock that old OS too. Did we mention that it features Alligator skin as well? Basically an animal died to bring you this ugly outdated and overpriced phone. They shouldn’t have.

The case is made from forged titanium with a matte black PVD finish and the same hand stitched leather as the interior of the car itself. You better hurry if you want one though. Only 2,011 will be made. Very clever.

Vertu Constellation Quest shows up at the FCC

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on October 19th, 2010

Vertu’s QWERTY keyboard Constellation Quest has just gotten a thumbs up from the FCC. There are the usual pictures, but there’s also a detailed manual that shows the phone to be running a heavily skinned version of Symbian.

Some other specs include HSDPA data and WiFi, and Vertu is even packing it with a 32GB microSD card. We don’t have all of the details however, like when it will hit stores and how outrageously priced it will be. But at least luxury handset enthusiasts have something new to swoon over.

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on March 29th, 2010

Vertu is outing four cool new models for their upcoming anniversary. These include the Kinko, Kikusui, Nanten and Daigo. These have real gold all over and as usual it costs a ridiculous amount to get mediocre specs.

If you have a spare fortune and don’t believe in charity, you’ll want to buy one as soon as possible. $215,000 is just pocket money. All four of them sport unique and cool designs. Try not to get mugged because of your phone.

vertuv-sbWe all know that Vertu has some very nice looking phones that tend to focus more on style and fashion than performance and features. If you are the sort that likes the Vertu line, you may be wishing there were accessories to go along with the handsets.

Vertu has announced the V collection that includes a slick Bluetooth headset, a memory card reader, and a pen. The Bluetooth headset stores in a case that looks more like a pen than a headset. It has an articulating earpiece and works with any Bluetooth device.

Lori Drew acquitted by judge in MySpace suicide caseA federal judge in Los Angeles overturned a guilty verdict on Thursday against Lori Drew, a participant in a cyberbullying hoax against a 13-year-old girl who later committed suicide.

According to U.S. District Judge George Wu, the federal case against Drew revolved around the idea that violating the terms of service for MySpace was the equivalent of computer hacking, which “…leaves it up to a website owner to determine what is a crime”. Wu threw out the …

Vertu Ascent Ti Damascus Steel

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on June 7th, 2009

Vertu Ascent Ti Damascus SteelThe Vertu Ascent Ti Damascus Steel was apparently developed by relying on “ancient steel forging” techniques. The kind used throughout the centuries to make Samurai swords. This results in the metal being harder. The specs aren’t exactly mind blowing, with a QVGA display, S40 user interface, GSM/UMTS connectivity, a 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash and 4GB of internal memory.

There will only be a hundred available, so expect to pay a pretty penny for this handset that’s as tough as a sword. We don’t have a price just yet.

Fake Lamborghini Vertu phone from China

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on April 20th, 2009

Fake Lamborghini Vertu phone from ChinaKnockoff phones must be pretty profitable for those who knock them off. After all, they just keep coming. This one is an oddball because there is no such thing as a Vertu Lamborghini phone, making this clone something of an “original”.

Thing is, it isn’t an authentic Vertu, and they don’t have the support of Lamborghini. But hey, some people just have to try to look classy with fake stuff.

Chairman phone for the rich and geeky

Posted in Mobile Phones by Shane McGlaun on March 26th, 2009

chairmanphone-sbIt doesn’t matter if you are a homeless New Yorker or an uber rich businessperson; most of us have one gadget in common — the cell phone. There are few people today that don’t have a mobile phone, though the type of phones we use varies greatly. Many geeks carry the iPhone and your mom may have the cheap phone that comes free with her plan. The mega rich also have their own type of cell phone.

Mobile phones like the Vertu Signature Dragon have been available for the elite for a while. A new handset is now available for the well-heeled buyer called The Chairman. The device is from SCI Innovations and watchmaker Ulysse Nardin. The main design feature of the phone is a functional watch rotor. The phone is offered in solid gold and steel/gold versions as well as all steel versions.

The Vertu Signature Dragon

The Vertu Signature DragonThe Wynn is one of those super luxurious hotels along the Strip at Las Vegas, so of course they host a whole bunch of high-end items such as exotic cars, designer clothes and expensive phones. The Vertu shop there is currently displaying it’s latest luxury cell phone, the Vertu Signature Dragon. Just like the Vertu Signature Cobra, the Dragon is not yet featured on the company’s website.

It’s a pretty cool looking phone. I think the only thing they could have done was to make the dragon’s eyes glow red when there’s an incoming call. Sadly, it doesn’t breath fire either, but it will burn a hole in your pocket with it’s enormous cost.

CA has musical highway for Honda Civics

CA has musical pock marked highway for Honda CivicsIf you have a Honda Civic and happen to be in Lancaster, California then you’ll want to drive over a magical and musical pock marked road with special grooves that plays a tune.

It was created by Honda for an upcoming advertising campaign. The road plays “The William Tell Overture”. (Most of us know it as the theme from The Lone Ranger) To get the most out of the musical road, the company advises you to drive over it with a Honda Civic because the road was tuned specifically to the tires and wheelbase of a Civic. Hit the link for a video. It somehow sounded more impressive with the Lone Ranger.

Posted in Mobile Accessories by Shane McGlaun on August 11th, 2008

Noreve iPhone 3G Diamond PouchThere is no shortage of insanely expensive gadgets and accessories for the wealthy geek that feels the need to show off. The catch is that some of the really expensive handsets — like the Vertu Signature — can show off how rich you are, but really don’t offer much in the way of cool features and usability.

What if you are one of the really rich types that wants a phone that actually works well — like the iPhone 3G — but the iPhone just isn’t expensive enough for you? You could go with the iPhone 3G and then swath it in the most expensive iPhone 3G accessory ever — the $15,000 Noreve Diamond Case.

The Vertu Constellation Rococo collection

The Vertu Constellation Rococo collection
Vertu is a British-based company that produces luxury mobile phones and they’re celebrating their 10th anniversary with a special event. The company is launching another luxury series, called the Constellation Rococo Collection. The stylish devices are inspired by eighteenth century French art, fashion and the interior design movement by the same name.

The series will go on sale this summer and will be available in noir, scarlet, ivory and an exclusive sapphire edition. The sapphire edition has a cabochon sapphire for a center button, cabochon sapphire screws, and of course Rococo patterns engraved onto the bezel. No pricing available yet, but my guess is it will not be cheap.
