There are all kinds of crazy USB hubs, but sometimes it’s best to keep it simple and classic in design. Elecom has done just that with its new U2H-TC410B “wall socket” USB hub.

No, it doesn’t actually plug into your power outlet, but it’s designed to be mounted on your wall or on the side of your desk, becoming a kind of wall socket for your USB peripherals. It’s a pretty standard four-port USB 2.0 hub aside from the design.

You thought that you were the victor in the USB wars, didn’t you? With your Artillery USB hub guarding your base camp… You did not count on an even bigger and more powerful USB 1.1 hub. While you were sucking on your stogies in celebration and kissing pictures of your gal back home, the Airplane USB Hub just layed waste to your whole platoon.

This cannon-shaped USB hub features three ports that trigger an artillery sound effect when a device is plugged in. Pretty cool, but don’t think you are going to win any USB wars with this one. It only supports USB 1.1.

Neat as it is, despite being USB 1.1, it needs to actually fire something and not just look like an old cannon. What would be cool is if it actually held a small USB drive that it could jettison out when you are done with it. If the kids are still saying FAIL this week, I suggest you say it to the Artillery USB Hub. It’s certainly not full of win.

Hot on the heels of their BlackArmor line upgrade, Seagate has updated their FreeAgent drives for the Mac with new features and improved performance. First there’s the FreeAgent Go Pro for Mac, a 2.5-inch external drive that features a FireWire 800 interface and FireWire 400 and USB interface. It will be available later this month in 250GB, 320GB and 500GB sizes and will cost $130, $150 and $190 each.

The other addition to the line up today is the Go Dock+, a USB hub with 3 ports, which is available now for $40.

Seagate has been pretty busy lately what with the announcement of their revamped FreeAgent drives. Now we come across this new $40 FreeAgent Go Dock+.

What’s interesting is that it doubles as a powered three-port USB hub. The device should prove convenient if you’re into the whole FreeAgent Go thing. Pretty nice. It almost looks like it was designed by apple.

England is a very innovative country. They’ve created such things as Policemen in tall hats, Palace guards that don’t flinch, Time-traveling Police boxes and now they are powering their supermarkets with their own parking lot.

At least one supermarket in England is setting up a high-tech parking lot that will generate energy simply from cars driving back and forth on it. The energy created will power things like cash registers and lights inside the store. It may even “power your savings”… At least, …

At first glance, this 4 port USB hub from Buffalo looks ordinary. But it isn’t. Notice how it resembles the powerstrips that you already use in your outlets. We find it cute in a geeky way. Yes, those are individual switches for each port that enables easy selection of which devices you want to use or not use.

It even features an LED light indication for when it’s dark. The hub itself will come in four colors, with an AC adapter and four USB cables that measure 1.5m in length.

Here’s a unique 4-port USB hub with the ability to juice up almost any compatible USB device. It even comes with a whole bunch of USB connectors to handle virtually anything you throw at it. Having a solar powered USB hub is awesome because you won’t add a single cent to your power bill thanks to that solar panel in the middle.

On cloudy days you can always hook it up to your car’s cigarette lighter outlet as an alternative power source. Only $20 and it’s a useful device. It’s like the K3 generator, without a windmill.

Not that that helps us get one in the here and now. Few things in life are this awesome. Now, we are on a mission to find one. This is way cooler then that time my Qosmio notebook turned into a Transformer.

Most computers only have about 2 to 4 USB ports, even the best motherboards only offer 10 or 15 USB ports. But let’s face it, you need more. You have your flash drives, your USB toys, USB Christmas lights, drink coolers etc. You NEED more ports in a USB hub.

This baby has 49. That’s right 49. You’ll never be without a USB port again unless you have way too many USB gadgets. Like say, 50. It’s actually meant for a more professional environment, like say, getting input from 49 different cameras simultaneously and the like. But you can have one too. It’s powered from a standard ATX power supply.

Same damn thing as Ravage, different paint job. It’s the Tigatron Transformers USB Drive. It comes with some attitude and 2GB of storage and supports Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista as well as Mac. It will cost you $51.

You say potato I say pot-a-to. I think we can both agree that this thing looks more like a deformed mutant brain than a potato any day. Seriously, would you buy a potato that looked like this one? Me either. Anyway, if you like your USB hubs on the disturbingly weird side, this is for you, ya damn freak.

It’s a 4-port USB 2.0 compliant hub that is what it is. The USB Potato 4-Port Hub will cost you $16 from Brando. Not Marlon Brando, the gadget site. I know I’ve seen this thing it several B movies, but I just can’t place it.

We’ve seen several USB transformers lately. There must be a movie coming out or something. There’s the transforming mouse, the Ravage USB drive, and now we have this $42 import that features a cassette deck, similar to Soundwave.

This guy can transform into a netbook. And whether you dig “Qosmio” netbooks or not, it’s a cool 4-port USB hub. So you can now have a small army of USB transformers.

We’ve seen our share of Lego USB drives, but these new Lego USB hubs are actually stackable, therefore totally awesome.

Each Lego USB Hub comes with four USB ports, and in a variety of colors that include red, blue, yellow and black. Sadly, they aren’t an official Lego product and so are only available in Korea for about $12 each. That’s a shame. I really wanted to build an entire Lego wall using these and go for the coveted Guinness world record of “Most hubs in a single wall, made by some lonely dork”.

Elecom of Japan has just introduced a few USB switches that will come with a 2- and 7-port USB hub. It allows you to share anywhere from two to seven USB-connected devices over a couple of computers without installing a private network.

Perfect if you and your wife want to share or for room mate situations, though you most likely would still want to set up a private network as their are more benefits. It’s a nice option to have though.
