Roku made a grand entrance onto the retail scene on Wednesday, by landing a deal with Best Buy. The stores will carry the Roku XD both in retail and online. This is the first time one of the company’s networked media hubs will be available at stores across the US without a rebranding.

To refresh your memory, the XD can play 1080p video, supports 802.11n Wi-Fi and has a remote with the instant replay button. It lacks the dual-band Wi-Fi, component video out and USB of the XDS, but both can do Amazon Video, Hulu Plus, Netflix, and live sports from the MLB and NHL.

As far as gadgets go, USB hubs have never been sexy. Functional yes, but never sexy. LaCie’s Hub4 is trying to change that with a curved exterior and some blue USB jacks. You get four USB 3.0 ports in all for all of your SuperSpeed gadgets.

Just remember that you’ll need at least one 3.0 connector on your computer to make the most of this USB device. Aside from that you’ll just need $59.99. Sexy or not? You decide.

Most people who are familiar with the Wacom name think of the line of consumer and artist focused graphics tablets that let users draw or write directly on their computer screen. Wacom also has a full line of pen-enabled displays that are aimed at use in medical and other markets.

Wacom has added a pair of new pen enabled displays to its line called the DTU-2231 and the DTU-1631. The 2231 is a 21.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 that is designed for use in medical fields like radiology and other medical professions. The screen lets doctors make notes directly on images and highlight areas for review by other health pros.

You can get it in retail centers in Europe and it allows users to transform their current USB devices into Wireless USB devices, with easy and clutter-free access as long as they remain inside the range. The solution, consists of a pair of USB adapters, one for the device and one for the PC. It brings wireless connectivity to USB devices like hard drives, printers, digital still cameras, camcorders, CD/DVD writers and hubs. It should make life a bit more convenient. Check out this insane device that calls itself a gadget. USB hubs are great and all, but a Rotary phone USB hub? It’s the kind of thing you give a tech blogger at the end of his career, to keep him from drooling all over the nursing home, just like you used to give those toy rotary phones to kids. And even then it’s not much of a laugh unless they try to make a call with it. It’s not something you want on your desk.
