Online retailers Gamestop and Amazon have both independently put up listings for the DJ Hero / turntable bundle and both list the same October 27th ship date with a price of $119.99 for Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The PS2 version will cost you either the same or $20 cheaper, depending on which site you go with.

Nothing official from Activision though. We’re thinking the prices and date are accurate. But until Activision confirms it, nobody knows for sure. Looks like four more months until you can get your DJ fix.

Pioneer has made some of the coolest car and home stereos around for a long time. When I was a kid, my day bought a new Pioneer stereo that cost him $500, which was big money back in the day. I promptly broke the turntable trying to scratch and spent a week or so being grounded. Ah, the good old days.

Pioneer is a bigger name in home theater and in-car electronics than home stereos today. The company has announced a slick new double DIN head unit that is the top-of-the-line the company offers. The Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT has a 7-inch motorized touchscreen that covers up the CD/DVD player and radio.

Guitar Hero and Rock Band are a couple of popular music video games, but for some audiophiles rock music isn’t what they want. Some music fans are into hip-hop, electronic and other genres where DJs spin the tunes rather than rock bands jamming live.

Activision is set to add DJ Hero to its music game line up. We have already seen an aftermarket DJ Hero turntable from Numark and Activison has now announced a special edition DJ Hero game is coming.

We’ve seen DJ Hero’s turntable/controller, so here’s the controller from The Ultimate DJ . It looks just like we saw in the screenshot.

Looks like you’ll be able to upload your own samples with a compatible USB mic as well as use the preloaded ones and you can rotate the mixer to the left if you are a lefty.

If you’ve been paying attention to the gadget world you know that we’ve featured many turntables. Companies are making more and more. Seriously, people are spinning more vinyl. And according to the New York Post, Best Buy is thinking about selling vinyl records in their stores. Yes, it’s hard to believe.

Vinyl albums’ sales are growing. As much as 15 percent in 2007 and 89% more in 2008. The 2009 forecast is even better. And so Best Buy has started a pilot program in 100 stores. The results were good. So good that they are thinking about using as much as eight square feet in each of their stores to sell vinyl records.

It’s basically an AT-AT toy with an electronic turntable glued to the side and spray painted gold. For some reason a golden Darth Vader and Yoda are riding up front, while the iPod sits in the butt area. Surely this is what happens when the Empire goes all gangsta on your ass. You get a slow drive-by walk-by with this beast poppin a cap in you.

Isn’t it ironic that some of the most beautiful turntables have shown up long after the days of vinyl? If only we had had such beauty back in the days of records. Germany based company, Montegiro, has a new high-end audio system in the form of the new Legno turntable.

It uses bamboo as well as high-grade steel to produce beautiful music from your old vinyl collection. The company decided to use a bamboo chassis because of the wood’s stabilizing and resonance-damping properties. There are also four adjustable and high-grade steel feet with rubber O-rings. The Montegiro’s Legno luxury wooden turntable is now available for a mind-blowing $13,240.

If you love the Earth, you probably recycle. Paper, bottles, cans, your Mac G4… Etsy seller “Pixelthis” created this neat looking clock from an old Mac G4 side panel. It’s simple, minimal, even modern looking.

The “Gabriel” turntable from Angelis Labor resembles a starship construction yard more than a fancy record player. Four separate arms will ride the grooves of your vinyl treasures on a platter that is suspended on a magnetically levitated spindle. Mmmm. Shiny and nice. Four arms are better then one, I guess.

If you actually had a robot willing to play your old records, this is pretty much what it would look like. The price is just as mind-blowing of course “between $27k-$64k”. I know that some of you will disagree, but is the sound that you are going to get from vinyl ever worth that much money?

If you’re a DJ or a wannabe DJ, you’ll want a turntable that sets you apart from the rest. You could spend some real money to get yourself a decent set-up or you can make your own if you have an old hard drive laying around. That’s what a group of students at universities in the UK, Austria, and New Zealand did.

They all worked together to come up with a digital DJ interface, and the HDD-turntable you see above sits at the center. The students fell in love with the weight of the disk and the quality of its bearings. All you need are “a few op amps, resistors and a programmable microcontroller of some kind” and you can be mixing like they do. Hit the link for instructions.

Living room DJ’s can now also be poseurs, joining the ranks of plastic guitar Gods everywhere. After two years of development, the “controller” for the new game is basically a “simplified DJ deck” as you might expect. You get a platter for scratching; sampling buttons; cross fader; and a sound effects dial which is the equivalent of the whammy bar in Guitar Hero.

It should hit shelves this summer and word is it will include the ability to use Guitar Hero guitars for versus mode face-offs. No flowing musical notes gliding down a guitar neck here. Instead, DJ Hero will flow the music down and around a virtual record in a half arc. Either left top to middle bottom if you are left handed, or right top to middle bottom if you are right handed. Wannabe DJ’s I’m sure have been waiting for this, as for the rest of you, do you guys have any room left in your home after buying all the other games?

It doesn’t get more 80′s then this. The Tokidoki company has come up with this nice looking watch that outdoes the turntable watch we told you about many months ago.

It ups the retro pop feel with vibrant colors and a nice 80s style. It makes me feel like cranking some Huey Lewis and the News while messing around on my hoverboard. The vinyl face rotates as each second ticks by. The time is displayed on the left side, looking like a radio dial. Stainless steel with leather strap. My geek mind is convinced that if you wear something this outrageously retro, Doc Brown will show up in his DeLorean. Which is why I’m getting one.
