Hello Kitty phone includes Speakers System
For those of you who love Hello Kitty, check out this new pink Hello Kitty themed mobile phone which includes a Hello Kitty-themed speaker system. It runs on GSM 900/1800 networks and comes with a 2.2-inch 260k color screen with 176 x 220 pixels, 1.3-megapixel camera, microSD expansion slot (512MB), integrated MP3 player, 16-LED flash sidebar, USB connectivity and preloaded with games that will brainwash you into thinking “pink” and buying more stuff with a kitty on it.

The phone even has a shake control feature for the music player where you can shake it for the next track. No word on pricing and availability. Yeah, I know, another damn Hello Kitty product. What are ya gonna do? Resistance is futile at this point. I put a bullet in a Hello Kitty MP3 player once and it just reformed, got up and spawned a new product. I ran for like 2 days and they just kept multiplying. They finally left me alone when I bought my Hello Kitty toaster. They just wanted me to conform. That’s all. It’s cool now.

Spoil your pet with the Luxury Pet House

Spoil your pet with the Luxury Pet HouseIf you’re looking for new and better ways to spoil your pet, you might want to look into the Luxury Pet House. Sure, it looks like a toaster oven, but don’t worry, nobody is going to make toast out of your little furry friend. Apparently it’s more about keeping fluffy comfortable and happy in his/her own little environment. Paris Hilton would love this thing for her weird little animals.

The Luxury Pet House offers PC-managed controls, temperature and humidity limits, infrared radiation and carbon heating walls, antibiotic air, solenoid valve “medical treatment,” and carbon filter-based deodorizing. I’m guessing that the only thing it doesn’t have is an option for cryogenic freezing.

LG Microwave Toaster looks weird, saves space

LG Microwave Toaster looks weird, saves space
LG converges the Microwave and the Toaster. The device is not new, but it’s like a UFO sighting, you know they’re out there, but you’re still surprised to see one.

Obviously it hasn’t caught on, which is odd because it’s a great space saver and it frees up an additional power outlet in your kitchen. Maybe it’s tough to clean or something. Anybody out there have one of these? Do you like it?

Fagor TP-2006 X Flat Toaster

Fagor TP-2006 X Flat Toaster
This toaster tosses convention completely out the window. The Fagor TP-2006 X is a flat toaster and it looks way cooler than traditional ones. It also makes for a dangerous breakfast time. It’s probably not good for those with a house full of kids who like sticking their hands in objects.

Like other toasters, the Fagor TP-2006 X comes with a crumb tray that can be slid out. It’s clearly begging to have a burger on it’s grill as well, though I’m sure they do not recommend it. Looks like it can fit four slices of bread on it’s surface at once. It’s got me rethinking everything. If we can have a flat toaster, surely we can have a George Foreman grill that stands upright.

The Zuse toaster makes toast fun

The Zuse toaster makes toast fun
I’m not sure how fun toast is capable of being, but certainly it’s got to get better then pushing the lever and waiting for it to pop. The Zuse toaster works like a dot matrix printer for toast and will burn 12 x 12 pixel images onto your bread. It can be programmed for random patterns or you can use your own designs if you like.

It’s probably the first truly interactive toast and your mornings no longer have to be boring. Unfortunately, this is still in its concept stages. No doubt the designer is greedy and keeping all the fun for himself. But one day soon our toast will get an upgrade. Until then, toast will be as boring as it ever was.

Egg McMuffin machine: your new breakfast buddy

Egg McMuffin machine: your new breakfast buddy
If you’re one of those people who absolutely have to make a trip to McDonalds every morning to get a Egg McMuffin, then this is for you. This gadget will toast your muffins and poach two eggs in just minutes, whipping up your favorite breakfast sandwich without requiring you to make the drive.

With four slots for muffins and two for eggs, you can make yourself two sandwiches at a time. You’ll pack on the pounds in no time. It only costs $60, so after roughly 60 sandwiches, it has paid for itself. Hell, put on a uniform and hit the sidewalk selling your own version. Just don’t come crying to me when a red haired and demented clown tries to put the screws to you for turning tricks in his territory. Cause he’ll cut ya! He’s as mean as they come.

Philips gives us 1200 watts of toasting love

Posted in Kitchen by Nino Marchetti on February 29th, 2008

philips-toaster.jpgHow much power does one really need to toast a piece of bread? Philips seems to think the answer is a lot – 1200 watts to be exact – and wants to sell you its HD2618 toaster for around $120.

Turbofan toaster: hot air + heat = fast toast

Turbofan toaster

This new concept in toast making uses big fans to toast bread faster than ever before. As is often the case, necessity is the mother of invention. Oliver Newberry, a graduate of Central St. Martins College in London designed this toaster to cure the problem of beans getting cold while toast is getting warm. (In England Beans & toast are a popular treat) The Heinz company is hoping to have these units available for sale within a year.

A working prototype uses fans that blow hot air over the surface of the toast from both sides. Apparently that cuts toasting time from the average of 141 seconds to about 50 seconds. Who wouldn’t want what amounts to mini-jet engines in their toaster? Sign me up. I’ll pass on the beans however…

Kenwood lets you have tunes with your toast

Kenwood Radio Toaster

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not crank up the radio and get your day started right. The retro Sci-Fi stylings of Kenwood’s radio/toaster will add some pizazz to your decor.

You might think that despite it’s good looks and presumably great sound, inside it’s just a few wires being heated up, like any other toaster. Nope. It has an electronic temperature sensor that monitors temperature and adjusts toast timing so you get consistent toasting, time after time. It’s nicely sized as well, measuring 11 x 8.7 x 6.3 inches

Hello Kitty Toaster burns the kitty into your breakfast

Posted in Hello Kitty,Kitchen by Reuben Drake on November 10th, 2007

Hello Kitty ToasterWhat Hello Kitty fan’s kitchen would be complete without having a Hello Kitty toaster? Not only does this thing bring the annoyingly cute Hello Kitty brand into your home but the toast that’s created also bears the Hello Kitty face outlined in burned bread on one side of each and every piece.

As much as it pains us to say it, we actually have to admit that we like this image-burning toaster design better than others we’ve seen. The Pop Art toaster we saw last fall allows you to insert templates to burn different designs into your bread but only a small portion of the bread ever actually gets toasted. With this model from Hello Kitty the image is the only part that’s not toasted giving the desired result to the majority of the bread. How’s that for geeky logic?

The space age breakfast

Kenwood 21st century breakfast set has some high tech features for your kitchenWe’ve seen additions to your tap that will illuminate a colored light so you can visually distinguish between hot and cold running water before but Kenwood’s 21st century breakfast set takes things a step further.

The Response 1.7-liter kettle changes color as the water inside starts to get warm and then boil. As the temperature of the water approaches 80 degrees the kettle’s middle will cycle from blue to purple to pink to orange. A very handy feature lets you maintain a steady 80-degree temperature …

Transparent Toaster Concept

Posted in Concepts,Kitchen by Reuben Drake on September 3rd, 2007

Transparent Toaster ConceptMaybe it’s because many of us geeks heated up wires with electricity to create a make-shift toaster as our 5th grade science project, or possibly it’s that toast is one of the tried and true breakfast foods that we have trouble screwing up? Whatever the reason toasters seem to be a popular item with gadget lovers everywhere, despite a limited variety of designs available to consumers.

When we saw this transparent toaster concept we couldn’t help but share. It uses heated glass to burn a single piece of bread in plain view right before your eyes, eliminating all guessing as to what setting your toaster needs today to get it just right. How to clean it and where the crumbs go and how you get your toast out of it may still have to be worked out, but we’d be one of the first few in line to give it a try.

Pop Art ToasterNot to often does a guy get to write about breakfast gadgets but it’s a good thing that cool gadgets are everywhere, including your kitchen!
