Your music is toast. Raise a (slice of) toast to your favorite song. This gadget combines two great things, toast and a radio. UK kitchen appliance manufacturer Breville has merged them into one device, the Breville VTT296 2 Slice Radio Toaster. It sports a retro matt black/silver finish and silver circular speaker. The radio controls sit under the speaker, on either side of the illuminated digital display.

It can store up to ten radio stations and comes with an antenna. You can also listen to music from an external MP3 player by using an auxiliary input jack. On the toaster side, it features adjustable twin toasting slots, a variable browning control, an extra high lift which ensures safe fingers, a defrost button which automatically lengthens the toasting time for frozen slices and a reheat mode.

I’ve always wanted to rip the guts out of a four-slice toaster and replace them with an Xbox 360. Luckily for me, now I don’t have to do it as someone else has done it for me. You may not be able to enjoy breakfast anymore with this mod, but you’ll be able to play CoD: Black Ops in the kitchen.

It is the work of modder ncaruso11, aka (akatheguy2) and it is dubbed the XToaster360. Best kitchen appliance ever. COD is way better than toast anyway.

We’ve seen plenty of memory card readers, but some are better looking than others. The Elecom MR-C27 SD card reader has a pretty nice design, even if it is somewhat like a toaster. It features four SD card slots for your SD/microSD/miniSD cards.

At a Google TV press event in Tokyo, Sony TV division head Yoshihisa Ishida told reporters that the company is “thinking about using Android in more consumer electronics products.” Now, he didn’t specify exactly what kinds of products, so let your imagination run wild.

Word is that Sony Ericsson has an Android 3.0 mobile gaming platform in the works. Of course you are free to speculate on what else may be coming. Maybe a Sony toaster with some decorative toast burning apps. No, probably not.

We love us some Space Invaders around here and this Space Invaders toaster is pretty awesome if we do say so ourselves. It was designed by Chris Naylor, a student designer in London.

This Space Invaders toaster toasts individual invaders into your bread so you can zap them with butter or jam and eat them up. Should this toaster ever go into production, we would buy it in a heartbeat.

This is a neat toaster design that mimics an inkjet printer. Sure, it doesn’t print on the butter, but what can you do? Still, we love the design. And we aren’t the only ones. Othmar Mühlebach’s design won second prize at the Berner Design Awards.

The design is refreshing and a nice change from the usual, looking modern and retro at the same time. The only flaw we see is that the bottom tray will be full of crumbs in no time. I’m not cleaning that up.

Nothing will keep your iPhone warm and toasty like a Frosted Pop Tart Sleeve. It’s true. They are tasty hot or cold and filled with sugary goodness. This one has sprinkles. Yum.

It’s the tastiest way to keep your iPhone safe and secure for $20. Just make sure the kids don’t find this and warm it up in the toaster. Probably won’t happen, but some kids aren’t that bright.

Yesterday we saw a PC in a vase at Computex, today it’s an Atom-based net-top in a Ferrari. There isn’t much info about it. We simply know that it has the guts of a netbook and appears to be sticking it’s tongue out in the form of a CD tray.

The body is custom-molded as well as the optical drive tray. I proclaim thee a thing of awesomeness. Other things we would like to see PCs crammed inside? Luke Skywalker’s landspeeder, Barbie’s Dream car and the Batmobile, just to name a few.

I knew there was a use for all of those old VHS tapes in the closet. Seven, count ‘em, seven VHS tapes are holding up this light bulb. Whether it’s old Sanford and Son shows or Star Trek the Next Generation, old television is the new way to light your home.

As the creator points out, the lamp is designed to be used with a CFL (compact flourescent) bulb ONLY. A standard bulb might get too hot and melt your VHS tapes. There’s nothing worse than a mound of melted tape. Trust me on that one. Goes well with the VHS toaster.

This toaster rejects bread in favor of NES titles, which are far more delicious. Created by the same modder behind the Nintoaster, this mod is just as heart healthy.

This followup is part toaster, part Super Nintendo, and is perfect for any geek kitchen. We’re hoping that the toaster/console trend keeps on keeping on, because there are still a whole bunch that need to be assimilated. Video below.

As far as innovative toasters go, I’ll stick with the VHS toaster over this butter-knife type deal. At least with that one I wont accidentally toast my hand in the morning.

It’s a design concept by Kim Been that looks like a knife but is really a handheld toaster. All you need to do is run it across the bread until it’s toasted to your liking. An animated graphic shows you how you are doing, which your you should be able to see with your own eyes.

Okay. Not really. But that’s how a format war would play out with this VHS toaster. It may look like a typical Daewoo VCR, but this one takes slices of bread instead of VHS tapes.

It actually toasts the letters VHS onto the toast. It only gets better if someone makes one that toasts movie scenes onto your bread. When your VCR is toast, then by all means let it make toast. Video below.

This toaster is part of Ivo Vos’s ‘Brunch’ collection. It’s a toast catapult or trebuchet. One cool feature is that it lets you calibrate the force and angle of your toast’s trajectory. Presumably so that you can have a plate all set up in the right place. It’s one of many prototypes for kitchen equipment from the Dutch designer.

It’s all about precision. In fact, the project is intended to be a statement on perfection, precision, and order. But the important thing is this: This toaster launches your damn toast. And that’s awesome. I’m guessing we won’t see it come to market for awhile, which is a shame. Toasters were meant to function in such ways.
