Whether it’s marriage by shotgun or just a pat on the back, you can’t do much better then getting this beautiful steampunk clock as a gift. It beats the hell out of a toaster or a blender. The father spent weeks working on the clock, which is walnut with brass and other metals.

He did a pretty good job considering that the son only recently introduced him to the whole steampunk thing. Plus the guy is grade A crazy in a good way like Doc Emmett Brown. He wanted to wear a steam-punk suit to the wedding, but his wife wouldn’t let him. It’s made by Diversified Artistic Designs (D.A.D.).

If Flash Gordon had a laptop, this would be his preferred USB memory. It’s the creation of a crazy modder over in Russia and it’s full of retro steampunk shininess, hand crafted from polished brass and copper, with a lot of attention to detail. He got all of it just right.

Which makes me wonder why no company has yet taken advantage of the whole steampunk thing and started mass producing usb memory like this. They could move a ton of items. Geeks like me would eat it up. I shouldn’t have to rely on a modder from Russia for my usb needs, that’s all I’m saying.

Jake Von Slott has created a Steampunk PC design that is sure to be gold with DIY steampunk enthusiasts. He took a huge 24 inch LCD monitor and crammed an entire CPU behind it and the design still looks awesome. If you want to do it yourself, you’ll have to trim of all the excess plastic and get the monitor in a nice rectangular shape. The entire Monitor/CPU assembly sits on an ornate frame that Jake made from a shelf from the dump.

It’s all super ornate. The fan of this computer is even decorated in a neat mesh. Of course everything inside is very un-steampunk. It’s got a state-of-the-art Intel pentium-4 chipset and all the bells and whistles.

We’ve seen some crazy awesome watches lately. Like the UR-202 for instance. But the DeWitt Concept No. 1 is something else again. It’s a unique one-of-a-kind timepiece that’ll set you back a cool $633,000 if you have a pile of cash that’s burning a hole in your bank vault. It was bought from an auction, sight unseen.

What makes it so special? According to the creators of the watch, this “gothic pirate spaceship of a watch is taking the steampunk oeuvre to new heights with its expanding riveted case, flying tourbillon, five barrels and a 21 day power reserve.” Yes, they know that the way to a geek’s heart is through his wrist. Steampunk and the mention of Gothic pirates don’t hurt either.

Check out this steampunk clarinet mod, which foregoes music and adopts violence as it’s new tune. There isn’t alot of info about it, but I like to imagine that some band geek got picked on a bit too much and went all Travis Bickle while creating it. You talking to me? You must be talking to me…

Looks like it doesn’t actually fire, but is more of an art piece. I also envision a post-apocalyptic future where a trio of musicians wander the wasteland. When trouble comes, they make as if to play some music. But when they open their instrument cases…All hell breaks loose. We love the clarinet gun.

The Wind, Dyson DC16 handheld cleaner looks like it’s a Sci-Fi ray gun from the future, but you are more likely to see Han Solo cleaning up the Millenium Falcon then shooting lasers with this thing. The device is the love child of Miyake designer Dai Fujiwara and James Dyson. They apparently had too much to drink and started brainstorming about how sexy they could make a vacuum.

The result is a sexy new handheld carpet sucker at an affordable price of $194. It’s got a great steampunk look and a trigger. Need I say more?

Here’s a great design if you dare to be different. The Vintage iPod Tube Amp/Charger has the cool somewhat steampunk/Sci-Fi look of a mad scientists lair. According to the manufacturer, you ca enjoy your playlists with the “warmth and richness only a vintage tube amplifier can provide”. I don’t know about that, but I love the design.

Many musicians believe that the harmonic richness and the pure tone of tube-based circuitry can’t be beat. That’s their thinking with this device. Just plug your iPod into the Vintage Amplifier/Charger, sit back with the included remote, and browse through your playlists. They claim that audio details that have been lost in MP3 files through compression, dramatically re-emerge through the 25 watts RMS per channel, all-tube pre-amp system. It will cost you a hefty $800 to find out if they are right. No doubt some of us don’t mind missing out on the differences we can’t hear anyway, at that price.

Clearly inspired by Captain Nemo’s adventures, this timepiece from HD3 Complication would look right at home in some steampunk Sci-Fi flick. It is so cool in fact, that only 11 were made apparently. Which seems appropriate. Only some ultra-secret society could have watches this cool.

Very nautical in theme, you can tell the time using the rotating wheel cylinders on the left with the minutes on the sextant-like disc. Each moving section is a work of naval engineering art. All of the working parts can be seen from the front and the rear through sapphire glass panels. Forget gaudy gold, the case is made of titanium and platinum. Whatever the materials, the look of this watch is simply stunning.

Nothing wrong with mixing a little bling with your espresso. These Mini Verticale Elektra espresso makers are pure eye candy, and sport a beautiful steampunk design. The shiny caffeine demons will literally smack down every other appliance in your kitchen, and make them worship at their metal feet, just by their mere presence.

They are actually a scaled down version of the very large machines used in coffee houses and cafes in Europe. And though they might not be the most practical espresso maker you could have in your kitchen, they certainly make a statement. The Mini Verticale comes in metal, copper and brass finish.
