Space Invader Watch

Posted in Watches by Conner Flynn on June 23rd, 2011

We love us some Space Invaders around here and this watch is just awesome. The Romain Jerome Space Invaders Watch comes with either a color space invader face or a monotone black and white face. The watch uses a multi-level face which was very difficult to manufacture, but it creates the proper effect and makes the face look like it’s made from pixels.

It also has a mechanical self-winding movement, and lugs fitted with safety screws and integrated ball-and-socket joints for ergonomic wrist adjustments. Each style is limited to just 78 pieces, but sadly there is no information on pricing or availability.

Space Intruder Multi-Tool

Posted in Tools by Conner Flynn on March 17th, 2011

If you love Space Invaders and are a fan of carrying a multi-tool with you, then looky here. This Space Intruder Multi-tool is for you. With both Phillips and flathead screwdriver blades, this thing is barely a multi-tool. You won’t be repairing much with this thing.

But it is awesome and retro. Most importantly it looks like a Space Invader, regardless of it’s name. Now we just need to get Pac-Man in on the multi-tool business. Maybe Donkey Kong.

The Millennium Table with 60 Classic Arcade Games

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on January 17th, 2011

This tabletop arcade machine comes from Europe and was designed to be a coffee table/ arcade system. That’s what makes it a millennium table I guess. We need games in our tables in this millennium, otherwise it’s just a “so last century” table.

The arcade system holds 60 classic games including Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Asteroids etc. It features a 19″ LCD, fire buttons and a joy stick on both sides of the table for two player games. The Millennium Table retails for £1900.00 (or about $3010).

Space Invaders Couch looks uncomfortable

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on July 30th, 2010

This Space Invaders couch is awesome, even if it does look uncomfortable. It’s the perfect seat for playing the classic game and once you win, you can consider it your throne as you will have vanquished your alien foes.

Sadly, this sofa will likely never get made. Only myself and two other people would buy it. It was created by designer Igor Chak. It probably folds up and eats you if you lose the game.

Space Invaders messenger bag

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on June 27th, 2010

This Space Invaders messenger bag displays your allegiance to human-kind and tells passers-by that you are not afraid to kill row upon row of aliens to get the high score. Sure, these are not official Space Invaders on this messenger bag, but they look good to me.

This vinyl messenger bag will carry your portable gadgets, maybe a small laptop, or an iPad. And you’ll be displaying your geeky side.

Space Invaders toaster

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on May 16th, 2010

We love us some Space Invaders around here and this Space Invaders toaster is pretty awesome if we do say so ourselves. It was designed by Chris Naylor, a student designer in London.

This Space Invaders toaster toasts individual invaders into your bread so you can zap them with butter or jam and eat them up. Should this toaster ever go into production, we would buy it in a heartbeat.

Space Invaders Salt and Pepper shakers

Posted in Kitchen by Conner Flynn on March 31st, 2010

Those aliens from Space Invaders have now set their sights on seasoning food at the dinner table. Probably because food doesn’t shoot back like we do.

Spice invaders if you will. Too bad they are not for sale yet. As soon as they become available, I’m buying like fifty of these and lining them all up on the table so I can play a 3D game. I’ll shoot them one at a time and watch the salt and pepper spray out of their alien bodies.

Awesome Space Invaders clock

Posted in Clocks by Conner Flynn on March 8th, 2010

Check out this amazing Space Invaders clock. Space Invaders may have been released about six years after Pong, that doesn’t mean that this Space Invaders clock uses newer technology than the Adafruit Pong Clock that has been circulating.

The two clocks actually share the very same guts inside, but the Space Invaders clock has updated firmware. This is one of the coolest Space Invaders clocks we’ve seen. I’d wake up to that. The fight between man and alien never looked so cool.

Heat Changing Arcade Mugs

Posted in Home by Conner Flynn on February 8th, 2010

You can never have too much Pac-Man in your life. Or Space Invaders. Excuse me, “Pac Boy” and “Space Intruders”. You could buy yourself a regular mug featuring arcade scenes, but these mugs from Thinkgeek react to the heat in your drink and actually do things.

For instance the Pac Boy mug starts off with an empty maze, but when you add heat and it gets filled with detail. Same with the Space Intruders mug.

Space Invaders tights for the geek girl in your life

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on January 14th, 2010

We love Space Invaders and if we could we would have our human women wear tights with the alien invaders on them. Well, now we can. These would make a great Valentine’s Day gift for that geek girlfriend.

They’re designed and distributed from Australia by Black Milk Clothing and they not only have the classic aliens from the game, they also show off your figure. $80 seems a bit steep, but putting a classic arcade game on your cameltoe? Priceless.

Space Invaders shower curtain

Posted in Home by Conner Flynn on September 29th, 2009

Space Invaders shower curtainLike Pac-Man, you just can’t have enough Space Invaders in your life. That includes the shower too. Now you can get clean and go pew pew pew as you battle the alien menace.

Of course it won’t actually move like in the arcade. You’ll have to use your imagination. Unless you’re the type to pee in the shower, in which case, fire away. Hope you can hit the UFO on top.

Space Foosball turns Foosball into a video game

Posted in Games by Conner Flynn on September 22nd, 2009

Space Foosball turns Foosball into a video gameWe’ve seen some crazy Foosball tables, but nothing like this one. It’s clearly from the future and it’s name is Space Foosball. Basically they’ve turned foosball into a tabletop video game.

Sure it takes some of the fun out of it. No spinning paddles that kick a real ball around the table. But think about it. The players can now be anything. Donkey Kong Vs. Mario, Space Invaders… The possibilities are endless.

Neo Geo mini arcade cabinet mod

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on August 10th, 2009

Neo Geo mini arcade cabinet modPocket Lucho is known for building awesome mini-arcade cabinets using vintage game consoles. And after spending five months perfecting an earlier Neo Geo cabinet design, he has posted some detailed info on this awesome project.

He used a Neo Geo MVS mv1b board, 5-inch PSOne LCD, and Space Invaders Play TV controls. He attached the control panel and the PS one display with magnets make the wiring more accessible, and check out that detailed exterior design. Amazing work all around.

Space Invaders and Pac-Man art cars

Posted in Automotive by Conner Flynn on July 1st, 2009

Space Invaders and Pac-Man art carsPimping your ride with new shocks, struts, and a more powerful engine is all well and good, but if it can’t get by on looks alone what’s the point? These art cars are real lookers. These mini Coopers put the geek on the street my brotha.

Who wouldn’t love a Pac-man and Space Invaders themed car? These beauties were designed by Matt W. Moore, who clearly has a love of retro arcade games. This Pac-Man version is the best. Click through to see the Space Invaders car, which also rocks my geek socks.

Space Invaders retro tabletop bank now available in the US

Posted in Games by Conner Flynn on April 3rd, 2009

Space Invaders retro tabletop game bankYou might remember the awesome Space Invaders Game Bank that we featured a while back. At that time it was only available in Japan. Good news, now there is a version that you can get in the US and Europe, although we’re not sure if it takes currency other than Yen.

To refresh your memory, when last we left it, this bank was accepting up to 80 100 yen coins, and each time you drop a coin in, another invader lights up. So, you are playing the game in reverse. It pays to have more invaders on screen.
