Well here’s something you don’t see everyday. The iUnika GYY is an environmentally-friendly netbook that is powered by solar energy. This netbook is pretty light too at only 700grams. So what if it looks like a toy. Being environmentally conscious is often not pretty.
The GYY runs on a 400MHz processor and a version of Linux. Some other specs include 128MB of RAM, a 64GB solid-state drive and an 8-inch WVGA display with an 800 x 480 resolution. You can get the iUnika GYY starting in June for about 160 euros.




Toshiba has announced the top-of-the-range Dynabook SS RX2/WAJ. The world’s first PC to integrate a 512GB SSD (Solid State Drive). The new model comes in two versions on Toshiba’s online shop for the Japan. It features 2-bit-per-cell multi-level NAND flash memory to realize the world’s largest capacity SSD, with four times the density of SSD integrated into currently available products.
I am still not ready to start looking at upgrading any of my notebook or desktop computer to SSDs. At this point, the SSD is still too expensive for the slight benefit a consumer will get from the SSD upgrade. I will hold out until prices drop significantly for SSDs and capacities are more in line with what you can get on a traditional HDD.

Today Packard Bell announced that they will soon be releasing the Acer supplied EasyNote Butterfly. It’s just a bit too large to qualify as a netbook, measuring in at 13.4-inches and it features a LED-backlit display. Some other specs include an Intel Ultra Low Voltage processor, a multitouch trackpad and ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330 graphics.
We have no idea if this is a for real new Mac Mini or just someone’s wishful thinking. All we know is that we really really want it to be true. Could be a concept, a leak, or just a fake. Regardless, it is a thing of beauty. According to a 9to5 reader, this image came from the inside of a Russian magazine.
