Horizontal Game Boy Clone

Horizontal Game Boy CloneSomebody loves the Gameboy so much that they took it from vertical to horizontal. It’s still fat, but a little more sexy. The knock-off supposedly has a sharper image than the original. Sadly, details are scant on this baby.

All we really know is that it showed up in a Photobucket set. If you’re nostalgic and like your GB wide rather than tall, you’ll have to scour the knock-off district of the internet in search of one. Then tell us where we can get one.

Asus Eee 1002HA netbook review

Posted in Review by Shane McGlaun on March 20th, 2009

eee1002ha-coverAnyone who owns a TV, knows how to read, or listens to the radio knows that the global economy sucks today and will continue to be poor for most of 2009 and possibly into 2010 depending on whom you listen to. That means that all sorts of retailers are having a hard time with many of the largest electronics and computer firms announcing major losses and layoffs.

Despite the poor economy one sector of the computer market is continuing to grow impressively is the netbook market. The reason for the continued growth of the netbook market is simple — the machines are cheap. The average netbook sells for under $400 and offers portability and battery life that makes working on the road less of a chore for many users.

iPhone Nano concept photo surfaces

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on December 23rd, 2008

iPhone Nano concept photo surfacesRumors of an iPhone nano have been persistent for weeks now, and here are the first pics of the so-far fantasy phone. It looks about 3/4 the size of the iPhone, slimmer but still sexy. Is this just wishful thinking?

It could be true, but many don’t see it happening in January. For an announcement of this calibur, Steve Jobs would be making it, right? He’s not going to be at the Macworld keynote next month. But think about this. Why does he have to be there to make the announcement? Why not “phone it in” on an iPhone Nano?

Sony Ericsson ultra-slim T700 3G mobile phone
The Sony Ericsson T700 is now official. And officially sexy. They obviously took a page from Apples design team. Measuring only 10mm thick, the slim candybar phone boasts 3G connections and high speed HSDPA. The handset also offers a 3.2MP camera, stereo Bluetooth, two speakers and a memory stick slot. It will also geotag photos, but instead of packing full GPA, it uses cell-tower data to roughly work out your position. The Sony Ericsson Ultra-slim T700 phone should be available in the fourth quarter of 2008.

iRiver E100 MP3 player is thin, kind of sexy
This isn’t your typical run of the mill MP3 player. It’s got stereo speakers, FM radio, a microSD card slot, line-in, and a new D-Click system. Then there’s the large 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen. Did I mention, it weighs just two ounces? This sweet MP3 Player is available in two capacities, a 4GB version and 8GB, both with flash memory. Some color choices are Solid Black, White, Sky Blue, and Pink.

You get a bunch of audio and video formats, Rhapsody, Napster, and Yahoo subscription services, voice recording, text viewer, photo viewer, and more. The battery will give you 5 hours of video playback or 17 hours of music. You wouldn’t expect it to be reasonably priced, but it is, at just $109.99 for the 4GB model or $159.99 for the 8GB version. Nice! You are getting a lot for your money.

PSP concept is a slick & sexy slider

PSP Concept is a slick & sexy slider
This fan-made PSP concept is an awesome slider, with a look that beats the hell out of the old one and then spits on it for good measure. It’s got an amazing large screen and an iPhone style home button in front.

Just slide it open and it’s ready for gaming, revealing the D-Pad, two analog nubs, and the face buttons. This is one hell of a nice concept, considering I’m not much of a PSP fan and it’s got me wanting one yesterday. We can only hope that the next PSP looks something like this.

12 Star Trek gadgets that became reality
Like many Sci-Fi novels shows and movies, Star Trek showed us futuristic gadgets that at the time were complete Science fiction, but soon came to be a reality. Here’s a list of such technology, in no particular order.

These might be new to you if you have always been far to enamored with the women of Star Trek to notice the tech and gadgets. I don’t blame you, from Yeoman Rand to Tasha Yar, to Beverly Crusher and beyond, there’s some hot babes gallivanting around in the final frontier. Before we get so easily sidetracked, back to the theme. Star Trek gadgets and tech. Some you can own, some are in the works and some are just strange.

The iRiver Spinn is sexy
iRiver’s new PMP looks pretty damn sexy. It’s called the Spinn and has a 3.2″ AMOLED display capable of displaying a 480 x272 resolution which is a widescreen format. Video is displayed at 30 frames per second and it can be used as a photo viewer and MP3 player. iRiver also threw in an FM tuner, DMB for those areas which support it, and text viewer. That’s a nice set of features in this great looking PMP.

As far as connectivity, the Spinn supports Bluetooth and USB. Controlling the device is done with a toggle wheel on the right. Memory sizes are from 4GB up to 16GB. Due out later this year the iRiver Spinn is bound to do very well and get very far on looks alone.

Fast-moving luggage

Volkswagon Viseo concept vehicle luggageVolkswagen has developed its latest vehicle concept for an electric car of the future. Designed in collaboration with German design student Marc Kirsch for his diploma project, the Volkswagen Viseo is a three-seater that produces zero carbon emissions. Created to show that being environmentally friendly doesn’t mean that you don’t look sexy, the Viseo has that streamlined look that screams sports car sex appeal. Unfortunately we don’t know what kind of miles per charge the electric cars in the future will get so while the Viseo looks great it’s still an unknown performer.

One novel new feature about the Viseo is that the back-end of the car can detach and becomes a suitcase that you can wheel around. Something like this sounds great if you need to fly a lot and park your car longterm at the airport but as an everyday idea, it’s not so hot.

New Brother inkjets sport widescreen display

Brother MFC-885CW all in one printer with widescreen displayWhile there never really is anything sexy to say about all-in-one printers Brother has unveiled a few new models which at least have our heads turning. The most interesting of these is the MFC-885CW, priced at around $250.

The Brother MFC-885CW is one of the first inkjet printers to sport a widescreen color LCD, measuring 4.2-inches. This larger screen display, says Brother, helps users better preview digital photos off of a supported media card as well as previewing incoming faxes before printing. This model is also quite network ready, offering both Ethernet and wireless 802.11 connectivity offerings.

Bringing the sexy back to sound

Loit Eagle Neo-retro CD Player designed by Art LebedevIf space travel were as easy as driving to the local Kwik-E-Mart then this is the device that would have to be in our ship’s cockpit. Say hello to today’s new sexyness, the Eagle Neo-Retro CD Player from Loit, a Singapore-based electronics firm.

Designed by Art Lebedev, the same house that brought us the $1,500 OLED keyboard Optimus Maximus, this CD player looks more like a nice piece of art than a means to play your tunes. I mean, just look at it: if that doesn’t say “HAL, play me something like Dirty Vegas meets Justin Timberlake and make it fresh,” what does?
