We don’t know what it is, but we want one

Posted in Apple by Conner Flynn on August 17th, 2009

We don't know what it is, but we want oneWe have almost zero info on this beauty, but it has us drooling like a rabid dog. It’s a little touchscreen device that’s running Android and looks like it’s about 4.5 inches by 4 inches, like a larger version of the iPhone. Looks like it has two buttons on the top of the device and SD storage.

It may be a prototype. We don’t know who makes it or if it will even be for sale. Hopefully we’ll learn more about this device soon. If it’s real and the price is good, this could be a pretty neat open-source tablet. It’s sexy no?

Logitec LAN-W300N/R ultra slim wireless routerNot that it’s a competition or anything, but Logitec of Japan is now claiming the thinnest wireless router in the world. The LAN-W300N/R measures a sickly and anorexic 7mm at its thinnest part, while the widest part is a mere 24mm thick.

If you like your routers like supermodels, thin and sexy, the LAN-W300N/R also functions as an access point in your home or office. It’s too early to know if we will ever see it around these parts, but we hope so.

Zune HD's browser previewedOver at CNET, they had a look at a recent build of the Zune HD. Apparently the device is getting close to a final product. The hardware received some praise as well as video playback and a the music player, which has been refined. They really liked the Zune HD’s browser and found it to be excellent.

It was built by the IE team, which is good news for prospective Windows Mobile 6.5 users, and it’s comparable to the iPhone in features as well as speed. You get pinch to zoom, accelerometer-based reorientation, and a decent onscreen keyboard. No Flash though. All in all it sounds fairly awesome.

Here comes the robotic bride

Posted in Robots by Conner Flynn on July 23rd, 2009

Here comes the robotic brideThe thing about robot brides is, if you get cold feet, you’re dead. Yes, this is a humanoid robot marching down the aisle in a wedding dress. And yes, it’s freaky. So it must have happened in Japan.

The HRP-4C humanoid robot was featured in a fashion show in Osaka, walking down the runway in a wedding dress, looking forward to giving her hubby some deaded bliss if he doesn’t say I do. She didn’t actually get married on this day however, but it should serve as a reminder that there are lonely dorks out there who will marry a robot. For the sex of course.

The black Wii has a black box

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on July 14th, 2009

Black Wii has a black boxThe elusive black Wii has shown itself off a few times recently and with the August 1st launch date in Japan approaching, its back in the spotlight. Now it’s showing off it’s sexy packaging.

Sure, it’s the same old box, just done up in black, but it makes the console all the more alluring, with a hint of mystery and danger. Like that time good girl Sandy from Grease suddenly transforms and rocks John Travolta’s world all dressed in black like a bad girl. Sadly we still have no word on a release date here, but we hope it happens soon.

Possibly fake video of the PS3 slim surfacesWe’ll leave it up to you to decide if this video is real or fake. It shows off a purportedly “stolen” PS3 slim at a street market in the Philippines. You decide.

If real, the PS3 Slim certainly looks like one sexy beast. Nothing too Earth-shattering here though. The video below suffers from glaucoma and shows a black plastic box with the new rounded-off logo style from the PSPgo.

The Google-G0: How Android could take on the iPhone

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on July 6th, 2009

The Google-G0: How Android could take on the iPhoneWe’re no stranger to shiny touchscreen phone concepts, but here’s one that we’d really love to see in production. It’s designed by Taiwan’s Tryi Yeh and called the Google-G0. It’s both a touchscreen phone and a slider, with four large navigation buttons for quick access to your email, web browsing and more. The buttons change to fit your needs, depending on what you’re currently doing. Speakers and a camera are on the back.

It’s really slick and sexy. With some interest features. This is the kind of thing that can givethe iPhone a run for it’s money. Apparently the functionality continues when you plug it into the charger. For instance the image of the dock makes it look like it will let you watch TV on your phone, or use your G0 like a remote.
