Horizontal Game Boy Clone

Posted in Handheld Entertainmnet by Conner Flynn on June 21st, 2009

Horizontal Game Boy CloneSomebody loves the Gameboy so much that they took it from vertical to horizontal. It’s still fat, but a little more sexy. The knock-off supposedly has a sharper image than the original. Sadly, details are scant on this baby.

All we really know is that it showed up in a Photobucket set. If you’re nostalgic and like your GB wide rather than tall, you’ll have to scour the knock-off district of the internet in search of one. Then tell us where we can get one.

Harmonix announces Rock Band Country Track PackYee-haw and giddy up little doggies. Harmonix has announced that they will be releasing a new song update for their Rock Band game. The Rock Band Country Track Pack features 21 brand new songs to rock out to.

This new “Track Pack” will be available for all the major consoles like the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Wii. It features hits from numerous country artists including Shania Twain and more. Now I don’t know much about Country music and I’m not a fan, but I can only imagine that your screen will be filled with things like tractors, horses and perhaps Willie Nelson riding both. You can get this song update starting on July 21 for $29.99. The complete track listing below.

Barbie Foosball Table

Posted in Sports by Conner Flynn on June 11th, 2009

BarbieBarbie has everything. A dream house, Milabu dream car, and all kinds of other stuff I can’t name because I’m a guy. Well, now she has her own Barbie Foosball table. It’s like a bunch of 11″ ditzy bubble-headed dames suddenly got skewered through their armpits and are forced to play sports for your amusement.

That’s pretty much the whole story. It’s from french designer Chloe Ruchon who wants to make some sort of artsy-fartsy statement. We just see it as very pink and very full of airheads. It’s likely also full of several young girl’s hopes and dreams…

Botropolis: This week in robots

Botropolis: This week in robotsLook, we’ve brought on any robot apocalypse that we get. The more we keep building them in the now, the more we have to fight in the future. But it’s not like anyone heeds our warning over at Botropolis. Maybe humanity will start to pay attention when nursing home robots ram their cold steel fists up grandma and grandpa’s poop-shoots like a reverse dose of Ensure and put on their own puppet show. Or when your fancy new robot car turns into a trash compactor, kicking you out the door as a five inch bloody cube, with a line of similar cubes littering the highway. But until that day comes, all we can do is warn you. Anyhow, here’s some of what we covered this week.

iRobot: Roomba goes potty.

Power Mac G4: It puts itself away neatly.

Evolution: Robot style.

Sexy Mobinnova élan smartbook powered by NVIDIA Tegra

Sexy Mobinnova élan smartbook powered by NVIDIA TegraThe Mobinnova élan netbook, a NVIDIA Tegra-powered machine, weighs just two pounds, but can deliver 720p video on its 8.9-inch screen. We aren’t sure what OS it’s running, but we do know that it has an “innovative 3D graphical user interface,” supports hardware-accelerated Flash video, has both WiFi and 3G, and can play video for five to ten hours on a single charge.

NVIDIA claims that its Tegra platform can play an audio file continuously for 600 hours (thats 25 days!) assuming that the display is turned off. Take a deep breath. We don’t know what the pricing looks like after all. Mobinnova’s Tegra announcements also include the T8 tablet, which repackages the élan in a 10.1-inch tablet form factor with GPS and HDMI out.

Dell done with Della

Dell unveils Della to sweet talk the ladiesJust ten or so days after Dell officially launched the female-oriented Della, a site that helps women find computers to hold their recipes and count their calories, it’s over. Word is, that Dell broke up with her via a text message. Dell just wasn’t that into you baby.

She’s been replaced, with the similar, yet less femininely named “Lifestyle.”

Botropolis: This week in robots

Posted in Robots by Conner Flynn on May 15th, 2009

Botropolis: This week in robotsRobots have been busy this week, which is fitting since they are our slaves. When they are finished being busy with all the chores we give them, they’ll be busy wiping us off the face of the Earth. This week over at Botropolis we got to check out a Roomba’s chaotic path, saw one printing on the floor, and learned about a bot that asks for directions. Here’s some other stuff we covered.

Roomba mod: Roomba gets a hand.

SOBEaR: The Robot Panda Bartender.

Jackoon: The Soul Of Jackson Pollock In A Robot Body.

2-in-1 flying mouse, wiimote

Posted in Mouse by Conner Flynn on May 14th, 2009

2-in-1 flying mouse, wiimoteThis is the 2-in-1 mouse BTLS90 by Filco. It can’t decide what it wants to be. It features a gyro sensor so you can use it either on a desk or in the air like Wiimote. It doesn’t actually fly, unless you waving it around counts as flight. The mouse features an 800dpi resolution along with a USB-rechargeable 550mAh internal battery.

It isn’t much of a looker is it? I mean, it’s like a blue/black wiimote just swallowed a TV remote snake style and now it’s in for a long digestive process. It has a rather large butt too. The design team must have struggled for hours to figure out a way to make consumers stay away at all costs.
