Samsung Instinct S30 heading to Best Buy for $49.99You never know what kind of deals to expect from Best Buy Mobile. What price you see for an item depends when you go since stuff is always changing. Today you might see an Instinct that will cause you to claim bankruptcy, tomorrow you might see the miniature version of the original Instinct for cheap.

According to a new flyer, the Samsung Instinct S30 will be just $49.99 on contract at Best Buy. That’s $80 less than what Sprint will supposedly ask for it on April 19th. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it’s true.

Palm Pre may initially be a Best Buy Exclusive

Palm Pre may initially be a Best Buy ExclusiveAccording to WebOS Arena, the Palm Pre will be exclusive to Best Buy Mobile and Sprint stores for it’s first 60 days, citing a “credible source”. That isn’t a stretch as Sprint has previously given Best Buy such privileges, like in the case of the Samsung Instinct.

There was also a short time where Best Buy was also the only place outside of an Apple Store where you could purchase an iPhone. So, whether they have a “credible” source or not, it’s a good bet. Not a stretch at all. Still, it isn’t confirmed, so take it with the usual grain of salt.

Samsung Instinct is Best Buys best selling handset

Posted in Samsung by Shane McGlaun on July 10th, 2008

samsung-instinct.jpgAll of the mobile phone makers want to grab their share of the touchscreen mobile phone market. This has resulted in a slew of would be iPhone killers hitting the market and so far not one of the iPhone me too’s has really made much of a dent.

When Samsung introduced its sprint exclusive Instinct handset it even looked a lot like the iPhone and many wondered if it would be another disappointment. It only took a few weeks after the Instinct’s introduction to see that it was a hit with Sprint saying it was breaking sales records and due to its popularity the device was hard to find.

Sprint says Instinct is breaking sales records

Samsung InstinctWith the iPhone 3G coming many handset makers and wireless service providers are trying to launch competitive products to try and steal some of the iPhone thunder from Apple and AT&T. One of the most interesting devices to take aim at the iPhone is the Samsung Instinct.

Sprint has announced that the Instinct has become its fastest-selling EVDO handset ever in only a week of availability. The Instinct is exclusive to Sprint and went on sale June 20. Sprint says that the record setting sales of the device has caused a few problems though.

Samsung Instinct coming June 20 to Sprint

Samsung InstinctWe have talked about the Samsung Instinct before here at SlipperyBrick. This week Sprint announced that the phone would be available on June 20. The price for the device will be $129.99 after a 2-year contract and a $100 mail-in rebate.

The Instinct was originally pegged at a price of $199; Sprint surely felt pressure to drop the price after the iPhone 3G came in at $199. The Instinct looks very similar to the original iPhone, though it adds a couple buttons to answer and disconnect calls to the front.

Samsung Instinct now $199 after rebate
Is this the best Sprint and Samsung phone ever? Many of us think so. And it just got better. Thanks to the unveiling of the iPhone 3G with it’s $199 price tag, Sprint rethought a few things.

Like offering an extra $100 mail-in rebate which levels the playing field with AT&T. Apparently, current customers can buy the phone without renewing their 2-year contract, which is good news for those who want to switch carriers.

Sprint, Samsung bring us their Instinct

Posted in Mobile Phones by Nino Marchetti on April 1st, 2008

samsung-instinct.jpgSamsung announced today a bitching new touchscreen mobile which may very well get us to switch over to its exclusive wireless carrier Sprint. It’s called the Samsung Instinct and, sorry, there is no pricing as of yet.

The Samsung Instinct sports “localized tactile feedback, called haptics, which allow the virtual QWERTY keypad and other operations to become a sensory experience.” Sweet. It is also Sprint’s first EV-DO Rev A consumer focused mobile, meaning you can expect quicker load times for things like browsing the Web and streaming audio.
