The news comes from a press release which talks about the inclusion of 25 audio files (including 15 custom ringtones) from film composer Ennio Morricone.

That’s right, the man who scored Sergio Leone’s “Spaghetti Westerns.” Seems like an odd partnership, but hey, those are some darn good tunes.

Sprint offers bird call ringtones

Posted in Sprint by Shane McGlaun on October 16th, 2009

sprint-logoThis is just plain weird. As much as I get tired of hearing whatever the person standing in line at the checkout counter next to me has as their ringtone, a chirping bird would be worse than some crappy country song. Sprint has announced that it has teamed up with the Audubon to release bird call ringtones.

There will be 28 different bird ringtones offered including the Field Sparrow, Red-bellied Woodpecker, and the Black-capped Chickadee. The ringtones can be downloaded by texting BIRD to 1111 or downloaded from the Sprint Digital Lounge.

Mister Cartoon branded Samsung r450 headed to MetroPCSHere’s some clever marketing. Samsung and MetroPCS have teamed up with tattoo artist Mark Machado aka Mister Cartoon to release a limited edition SCH-r450. The handsets will feature tattoo inspired wallpapers, ringtones and animations in a re-colored case with Mister Cartoon designed graphics on the battery cover.

If you want one, you better act quick because only 30,010 will be produced. Why 30,010, right? Because the first 10 will be signed by Mister Cartoon himself and will be auctioned off for charity. You still have 30,000 chances though, right?

British Red Phone Box mobile phone

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on July 20th, 2009

British Red Phone Box mobile phoneBad teeth and Monty Python aside, nothing says British like a red phone box. The phone itself is fully functional and comes with a 65K color TFT screen, a camera, SMS, MMS and GPRS/WAP 2.0. Sure, those specs aren’t great, but it’s a red British phone box. What did you expect?

We really would have preferred a blue version. At least that way, it would be very Doctor Who. They really missed out on that idea. It could have all of the geeky sounds and everything. Oh well. You will get some early 00’s polyphonic style ringtones. 20 to be exact. Stuff like God Save the Queen and other British tunes.

HyundaiWhat do you do when people are no longer buying cars due to the economy being in the toilet? You get the hell out, that’s what. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll make something that people are still buying. Like phones and watches. If you’re Hyundai you offer both in one package.

The MB-910 timepiece is actually a tri-band GSM/GPRS mobile phone with around three hours of talk time, 70 hours on standby and polyphonic ringtones. No video calls sadly, but it does have a 132 x 176 touchscreen able to display WAP-captured content, SMS and MMS messages, and videos.
