It will allow you to have Bluetooth lightsaber duels and you can choose from 11 new Star Wars character’s lightsabers. Pretty neat. May the force and your iPhone be with you, always.

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on January 3rd, 2010

We all know by now that lightsabers make noises, fake noises from the mouths of nerds as they pretend to slice through enemies. Well, here’s a real lightsaber hilt that makes real noise. It plays your favorite music, which is probably from one of the movie’s soundtracks.

It’s available in two different versions and measures 3.14 inches. They also feature microSD card slots, but no display sadly. They will simply playback music directly from a card. The Star Wars Lightsaber MP3 Player is available for just under $24.

Wii MotionPlus demoed in 3D, with lightsaber

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on July 30th, 2008

The company that worked with Nintendo on the MotionPlus controller add-on, has now released a video that demonstrates the capabilities of the new hardware using 3D tools called LiveMove2. Turns out that the 1:1 tracking is really 1:1. Also the response time is pretty instant.

Before you know it they’re playing with lightsabers and fighting off Seeker Drones, then tossing around a 3D dummy with the lightsaber. All in all a lot of fun. The end result is that this technology can map incredibly complex motions to even more specific commands then before. It’s pretty damn impressive.

Candy lightsabers filled with…goo

Candy lightsabers filled with…goo
Jedis aren’t real. Despite that fact, there are more lightsaber gadgets floating around the solar system then you can shake a… lightsaber at. These particular lightsabers won’t slice through flesh, but they will give you a sugar high that will have you bouncing off the walls like Yoda in a rubber room.

Hasbro’s Candy Lightsabers are based on the authentic movie weapons of Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker (red and blue). They’re filled with some sort of gooey, glittery, edible nastiness known as “Spliquid”, which comes in fruity flavors. If that dude who played Anakin in the prequels had sucked down a few of these, his acting would have been a lot less wooden and far more “I’ll kill you all with my candy lightsaber.”

Create your own lightsaber like a real Jedi

Create your own lightsaber like a real Jedi
You can buy any number of lightsabers. Whether in lamp form, Wii attachment, or even a lightsaber training game. But this Master Replicas Force FX Lightsaber Construction Set allows you to mix and match pieces, creating your own custom weapon.

The kit includes 3 pommels, 3 handles, 3 center bands, 3 front bodies, 3 emitters and a tri-color blade that can switch between red, green and blue. That gives you over 1000 possible combinations. One downside to this cool toy is that the blade is only illuminated by a single LED, which means you won’t get the “rising out of the hilt” effect when you turn it on. But it does have all the motion activated sound effects. All the pieces are metal, so your lightsaber will look very cool and authentic.

Developing a Fracture

Posted in Games,LucasArts by Chetz on May 7th, 2007

Fracture for PS3 from LucasArtsThe developers at LucasArts aren’t just about making games with lightsabers and TIE Fighters in them. A case in point comes in the shape of “Fracture”, one of their new titles now in development and slated for a mid-2008 release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Under development by Day 1 Studios, you step into the boots of Mason Briggs, a soldier from the mid 22nd century that uses weapons that can deform and manipulate the terrain around you to turn a physical disadvantage into a strategic advantage.
