R2-D2 Lunch Kit

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on July 20th, 2011

Most adults don’t really carry lunchboxes, but as lunchboxes get cooler, you will see more of them packing a lunch since we are all geeks at heart. This R2-D2 lunch kit is pretty cool. Adults and kids alike will want to carry this one around.

It’s only $14.99 and measures 5¾” W x 5½” D x 11¼” H and even has integrated sounds and LED light effects. That beats the Lunchbox I had as a kid. The noise that this one makes will likely get your kid in trouble.

Microsoft to Release Limited Edition Star Wars 360 Console with Kinect

Posted in Xbox 360 by Conner Flynn on July 10th, 2011

Here’s something that Star wars fans will love. It looks like Microsoft is prepping a limited edition R2-D2 Xbox 360 console with Kinect sensor that will launch with the forthcoming Kinect Star Wars.

The machine will likely not be droid shaped, but it will be in a blue and white paint job as well as the Kinect sensor itself. You are going to want to trade in your old XBox for this one for sure.

Star Wars Operation

Posted in Sci-Fi by Conner Flynn on June 27th, 2011

Remember the old Operation game. The funny bone was the hardest to get and I can still hear that buzzer! Now Hasbro is launching a new edition of the popular board game, but they have switched the red-nosed guy for R2-D2.

The game can be pre-ordered now for $27, and it will ship in September. Jawas are no longer the only guys who get to operate on droids. I wonder what R2′s hardest part to remove is.

R2-D2 barbecue grill

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on May 17th, 2011

Hey even the evil Empire likes to have a barbecue now and then and when they do they do it in style. R2 has caused them quite a bit of trouble over the years and now it is payback time. The droid will be made to serve the empire by cooking up some delicious meat.

If you have a 55-gallon drum lying around and Smoker, you can create one just like this. Then give it a paint makeover. May the force and good burgers be with you.

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on March 21st, 2011

If you didn’t already get the Droid R2-D2 edition, than all of you wannabe Luke Skywalkers out there have another option. This R2-D2 case for your iPhone. Nothing is cooler than making a phone look like a Star Wars robot after all.

This one features sculpted details and is a StarWarsShop exclusive iPhone 3G hard case. It may not pal around with C-3PO and beep and chirp at you, but it’s the next best thing to having an actual droid.

Star Wars home theater is awesome

Posted in Home Theater by Conner Flynn on March 10th, 2011

This Star Wars themed home theater can be found in Hawaii, not some Star Destroyer out in space. We’re talking 10,000 square feet. It is a vision of geek heaven. It has flat panel TVs, futuristic touchscreen remotes, a life sized R2-D2 and C-3PO, and other Star Wars stuff everywhere.

It looks just like the inside of a Star Wars spaceship, with awesome blue lighting and acoustic panels on the walls that look like spaceship doors. In this room you don’t just watch Star Wars, you live it. It has to be said though: If you take away the blue lighting, it almost looks like a Star Trek Bridge.

Darth Vader and R2-D2 USB hand warmers

Posted in USB by Conner Flynn on December 9th, 2010

Use either the dark side or the light side to keep your hands warm this holiday season. These star wars USB hand warmers feature a brushed aluminium case that provides a cozy temperature of 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) for about four hours on a two hour USB charge.

Or you can just wear gloves. These are manufactured by Takara Tomy and are limited to Japan. They come in two designs. Darth Vader and R2-D2.

World’s first remote-controlled gaming computer

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on December 9th, 2010

Meet the world’s first remote-controlled gaming computer. It’s built from a Thermaltake case and built on top of a motorized, remote-controlled base. Oh and there’s also a robotic arm. Now that’s what I call a computer.

Sadly it doesn’t shoot lasers, but I’m sure that is just one mod away from happening. This one could be R2-D2′s long lost cousin. I’m pretty sure I saw this thing in a Jawa Sandcrawler.

R2-D2 Talking Money Box

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on November 22nd, 2010

The R2-D2 talking money box is a great way to save up for all of that Star Wars gear you want to buy. But R2-D2 doesn’t talk, so really you are just getting a bunch of beeps and boops that you will need Luke to translate.

It’s just $34. Lucas has gotten rich off of you buying all of this R2 gear, so saving money is the least this little droid can help you to do.

Droid 2 Global launching on November 11th?

Posted in Motorola by Conner Flynn on November 4th, 2010

Word is that Motorola’s Droid 2 Global will be coming in two colors, one of which could be coming on next Thursday, November 11th. According to a leak, it will be the blue version of the phone. The white model isn’t mentioned, so we aren’t sure if Verizon is planning on holding that one back for a bit longer.

The white version may be too close to the R2-D2 edition and so perhaps they want to give that one a bit more exclusivity before having another white model. Anyhow, are you excited yet? It shouldn’t be long now.

Posted in Verizon by Conner Flynn on September 27th, 2010

Verizon has just announced that it will be charging $249 for the R2-D2 Limited Edition, with a $100 mail-in rebate on contract, which means that you’ll actually be paying $350 up front. For that money, you also get a Star Wars-themed dock and a box custom-designed to look like carbonite.

You’ll also get a variety of custom live wallpapers, sounds, photos, widgets, and a “binoculars app,” which is probably a digital zoom tool. There’s no mention of whether this features the rumored 1.2GHz processor from the Droid 2 World Edition.

iPhone gets some R2-D2 action too

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on August 18th, 2010

We wish we knew, but sadly no one is sure when the R2-D2 version of the Droid 2 is going on sale, so in the meantime keep using your 3G or 3GS iPhone for a little longer, so you can use this R2-D2 case.

It may not be as cool as the R2 version of the Droid 2, but it gets the job done for a cheaper price. You can pre-order it now for just $30. Awesome right?
