Posted in 1seg,PSP by Chris Weber on July 17th, 2007

PSP-S310 1seg digital tv antenna for the Sony PSPWhen the new slim PSP launches on September 20th, those with 1seg digital TV available in their area will be able to pick up television signals through their handheld game console.

The PSP-S310 1seg antenna will mount on the top of the PSP similar to how the EyeToy does and according to Kotaku will bring in so-so reception until they get some kinks worked out. Good reception or not this is both really cool and almost meaningless to us in the U.S. where 1seg just isn’t available.

Posted in PSP by Darrin Olson on June 24th, 2007

PSP Firmware gets upgrade to 3.5When Sony released the version 3.5 firmware upgrade at the end of May the big talk was the new Remote Play functionality that was added through the update and little else. Lightly grounded rumors had been floating since the firmware release that it may have also increased the processor speed of the PSP, but it’s pretty hard to tell since all the games running on it are at the 266 MHz speed.

When the PSP was originally released the processor had more speed potential but it was capped due to what most …

USPTO reveals PSP Phone

PSP Phone reveiled by drawing and us patent office websiteA recent patent application filing at the US patent office by Sony Ericsson reveals what looks to be a PSP phone. This does kinda’ make sense since everything is moving toward integrating with a mobile phone lately. Also, it’s been difficult to take a traditional mobile phone and integrate games with it, so why not go the other way around and integrate a phone into an existing mobile game design.

It looks like that’s what Sony Ericsson is up to. The PSP is already designed well …

Remote Play to PS3 added to latest PSP firmware upgradeSony has now released a new version of its firmware for the Playstation Portable (ver. 3.50) that enables the Remote Play capabilities through a wireless internet connection from your PS3 sitting in the next room, the next town or the next country.

The Playstation 3 firmware was updated recently as well in order to support this feature and the PSP upgrade closes the loop to allow you to control your PS3 using your PSP. The Remote Play feature to me sounds a little better than it is. Remote Play …
