Some leaked packaging images suggest that only two models of the Xbox 360 will be available in the future. Depicted in the above photo are current and planned boxes for the 360 Arcade; the latter box lists only one other 360, the 120GB Elite.

The Pro, in production since 2005, is MIA. It’s typically the best-selling Xbox system. The photo backs up earlier reports that Microsoft is phasing out the Pro. Game bundles may help clear out earlier stock, after which the Elite’s price is expected fall to that of the Pro in September.

MMA is one f the fastest growing sports in the world and events like the UFC and Strikeforce are selling out some of the biggest arenas around the globe. With the raging popularity of the sport, it’s no surprise that video games are starting to come out for fans to enjoy.

Not too long ago the first UFC game debuted and now EA has announced the fighter roster for its EA Sports MMA game set to debut in 2010. The game will be available for both Xbox and PS3.

These “Deep Red” and “Metallic Blue,” controllers are the mot patriotic dualshocks we’ve ever seen. Combine them with a white dualshock and you can call yourself an all American gamer. Sony says they should be available this October.

October is a little late for fireworks, parades and barbecues, but at least you’ll be rocking true American colors year round as you game with these babies.

EA and Dice have been working together on the fantastic Battlefield franchise for a long time now. Most of the games in the franchise have been sold on discs in retail outlets. The first download-only title from the two firms was Battlefield 1943 released earlier this month.

EA and Dice have announced that the game has set sales records for download-only games and has sold over 600,000 copies on Xbox and PS3 since it debuted on July 8. The game set the record for fastest selling day one and first week download games.

I am a fan of music games and have spent lots of time with Rock Band. It continues to bum me out that Logitech doesn’t offer any controllers for Rock Band even though it does make some of the coolest controllers for Guitar Hero.

Logitech announced its latest Guitar Hero controller for the PS3 today called the Logitech Wireless Drum Controller. The device connects to the PS3 via a 2.4GHz USB receiver and can last for up to 50 hours on a single pair of AA batteries.

We’ll leave it up to you to decide if this video is real or fake. It shows off a purportedly “stolen” PS3 slim at a street market in the Philippines. You decide.

If real, the PS3 Slim certainly looks like one sexy beast. Nothing too Earth-shattering here though. The video below suffers from glaucoma and shows a black plastic box with the new rounded-off logo style from the PSPgo.

We all know that some game consoles consume a whole lot more power than others. Wii won’t mention any names. TrickleStar knows this and so has introduced their TV TrickleSaver device aimed at cutting down on some of that wasted power consumption.

Just plug both your TV and game console into the device (it will also work with a power bar), and then the device does it’s thing, cutting off power to the game console when you shut off your TV. It even works with other devices other than game consoles. TrickleStar outs the PS3 as its primary target, with the Xbox 360 a close second.

Great news. It’s not exactly a price cut, but it looks like Sony may be about to offer one of its best deals to date to PS3 customers, with some help from Best Buy. Apparently, this is an effort to clear out the 80GB PS3s once and for all (to make way for… the PS3 slim?), Best Buy will selling a bundle that includes the console, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Killzone 2.

All for the usual price of $399.99. Not a price cut, but you get a lot more for your money. This bundle is supposedly set to go on sale as soon as next Sunday. Some of them have apparently already made their way into the stores’ back rooms.

I am a big fan of the Battlefield franchise and have played most of the games in the series. I really like games like this when they are set in modern times like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but going old school is cool too.

EA and Dice have announced that the next iteration of the franchise is set to debut on the Xbox and PS3 on July 8 and 9th as a download only. The good news for fans of the franchise is that the game is cheap at $15 or 1200 MS points.

News on the PS3 slim has been scarce since E3, but today’s rumor is that Sony has signed manufacturing agreements with both Foxconn and Pegatron to build the slimmed down console in time for a July delivery. That seems reasonable and lines up with stuff we’ve heard.

The crazy part of the rumor is the suggestion that the slim will be the last PS3 model of this generation, and that a next-gen console based on Sony’s motion controller is hitting in spring 2010. That part we aren’t buying. The PS3 is only now in its prime and Sony already said that the motion controller was for the existing console.

Sony has a fancy new seal that they want to start slapping on new products. Specifically onto approved third-party peripherals for their game consoles. It could mean that we can expect better accessories or it may be a bunch of BS that does nothing but add a seal to products.

Before we can even guess what to expect, we have to wait and see who opts into the plan, and what nature of product they can get away with making. Hopefully it means better quality all around.

One of Ars Technica’s sources says that the Xbox 360 lineup will see price shifts this fall. They also confirm that the PS3 Slim is still on the way. In September the Xbox 360 Pro (Priced at 60GB, $299) will be replaced by the Elite (Priced at 120GB for $399). On one hand, the Xbox is getting a price cut. On the other, the 360 doesn’t sound like it’s getting cheaper with a lower entry level price.

You’ll also be happy to know that ars has also restated their claim that a PS3 Slim will arrive this fall along with price drops “on the hardware that’s out now.”

According to Kotaku, Sony is touching base with developers and apparently the controller will launch in Spring 2010 (Next year’s E3 sounds right.) . Sony says that the controller will function “with any games across all genres from casual to [hard]core”.

To refresh your memory, the controller will work with Sony’s Eye camera and microphone, which will add face and voice recognition and make the motion tracking more accurate. Sony apparently told developers that the DualShock “could” be used along with the motion controller, much like how Nintendo uses the Wiimote and Nunchuck.

Third-party wireless guitar controllers for the Xbox 360 have been hard to come by, but Logitech is leading the charge with this new Guitar Hero-licensed controller that’s similar to its PS3 and PS2 offerings, except that its orange, and Xbox 360-compatible.

It features a wood neck, rosewood fingerboard, and metal frets just like the others, along with a touch-sensitive slider on the neck, strum bar and fret buttons that are “virtually silent,”. It also has a range of 30 feet.

This Hellboy Xbox 360 case mod is awesome. And very very red. It was made by Frank Gonzales, who has previously created a Gears of War and other case mods. He really outdid himself with this one. It looks as if it has just clawed it’s way free from hell and is ready for some serious gaming.

My first reaction upon seeing this was to wonder where the horns were, but it is absolutely perfect as it is.
