Here’s another geeky item for your desk or your shelf. This speaker will connect to almost any music source, via a stereo jack and power comes from your computer’s USB port, and a 5W speaker plays your favorite songs. But sadly you can’t solve this cube. It’s just for music.

Great addition to your nerd gadget stash at just $30 even if you can’t twist the thing and puzzle your brain. It’s still a neat retro speaker.

Vader doesn’t like books. When faced with a shelf full of books, he’s been known to violently stab them with his lightsaber. If you feel the same way as I do about the Star Wars prequels, these bookends would be the perfect place for any prequel-related books and movies as they will be stabbed with a lightsaber and left on the shelf.

The light saber is illuminated from the inside, powered by batteries. It’s priced at $49.95 and worth every penny.

Today’s iPod dock of the day is the Maxell MXSP-D240 which comes in black or white colors and looks like a barrel. We can only assume that a Mario accessory is on the way.

This dock comes with a few 53mm driver units and should roll onto the Japanese market sometime this month for €76. Careful you don’t let this one roll off your shelf. Anybody digging this design? Maybe I’m being too harsh.

Revo has a new radio dock, the IKON, with DAB+ radio and Internet radio. It also functions as an iPhone/iPod dock and features media sharing capability from both Macs and PCs over a local Ethernet or Wi-Fi network. What really sets it apart is the 3.5″ touchscreen display, which offers a much better interface and will show off the usual info like album art and song data.

The bookshelf-sized stereo also provides FM radio and an aux-in jack for alternative sources. The Revo IKON also sports flat-panel NXT speakers with 30W of power. It’s set to arrive in the UK for £280. After that the IKON will ship worldwide in October.

I can’t decide if this is pointless or actually useful, but if you are looking for a way to organize your gadgets while they charge, you may want to check out the Power Shelf. It plugs directly into your power outlet, you can then plug your gadget into the power outlet and store it on the shelf.

Boston Acoustics recently unveiled its new Vista flagship line of loudspeakers. Four models make up the mix, ranging in price from around $400 upwards to $1,700.

Introduced in this new line up are a floorstanding loudspeaker, center channel, bookshelf and subwoofer. All look to be well made, feature laden products which should be fully available by the end of the summer. You can get full details after the jump.

Klipsch announced today some great looking new speakers which it says put out extremely great music. The speakers are the new W series and you’ll find them pricing as follows when they become available later this month – around $1,500 for a pair of WF-35 floorstanders, $1,200 for a pair of WF-34 floorstanders, $600 for a pair of WB-14 bookshelf models, $500 for each WC-24 center channel and $750 for a pair of WS-24 surrounds.

Klipsch said the speakers in the Icon W Series will be available in solid wood grain with two different finishes and that they will also sport new horn engineering. You can get the full details of these new speakers after the jump.

LG put out more detailed information today on some new home theater systems first shown off at CES earlier this year. These include, besides the LHT888, the new LHT874, LHT854, LFD850 and LFA840.

These systems are in the processing of appearing at retail locations such as Best Buy and Circuit City. LG describes them as featuring “distinctive designs” and “advanced technology. We detail the other items in this new line up after the jump.

Of all the emotions we go through when playing games, frustration is probably the dominant one. Here, we have a psycological profile of the gamecube come to life. In the fall of 2003, Kathryn Elliot was asked to pick up a product, analyze the intricacies of color involved, then redesign it based on a dominant emotion associated with it. She chose Nintendo’s GameCube, so it was naturally going to depict frustration. She named it the Frustration Game Cube. Or Frube. It’s designed to aggravate, portray and possibly even relieve a player’s frustration, with Frube’s many changes.

To highlight an element of frustration in the color scheme of the gaming device, she colored the GameCube purple and yellow, which are aggressive colors. The shape of Frube further irritates as it will no longer sit on a shelf easily. Some other design changes are asymmetrical position of the front plug-in panel and a jagged cut lid, which makes it difficult to figure out which side opens and how.

Minnesota artist Debra Dresler decided to take a vintage 1950′s Viewmaster and reel and turn it into a clock. The result is an interesting art piece that would look great on any shelf. For those too young to have enjoyed the View Master, an explanation is in order. This old gadget allowed you to look through 2 eye pieces and view slides, which rotated round on a disc. To view the next image you would pull down the lever and the disc rotated to the next image.

The clock hands are in the center of the image reel on this modified viewmaster and it takes just 1 AA battery which will power the clock for several months. But can you use it as a clock AND view reels at a cost of $145? I hope so.

The USB Mini-Fridge definitely has its advantages, but slowly cooling down one can at a time sometimes just won’t do the trick to keep up your caffeine high through a full night of gaming.

Sanyo had introduced a handy little gadget to recharge batteries using solar power. The Eneloop solar charger will recharge 4 AA batteries using nothing but the sun. It also has a port to let you charge other devices with rechargeable batteries via a USB connection.

At the same time Sanyo has also released a small, hand held heater that is also rechargeable, and works similarly to the small little liquid packets you would put inside your gloves at the slopes, creating a small amount of heat radiant heat.
