WowWee Spyball spy camera

WowWee Spyball spy cameraMuch like the Rovio, the WowWee Spyball spy camera will let you live out some James Bond fantasies. Or at the very least snap some upskirt pics. The tiny remote controlled robotic ball features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and gets around on sleek wheels, capable of smooth mobility and quick 360-degree turns.

It can also transform from a ball to a camera and back within seconds, and it does it’s job quietly, so you can sneak around and get some dirt on people. The blackmail will follow. Another cool feature is that when it’s connected to a home network, the Spyball can be controlled remotely via the Internet.

Custom Desert Eagle may be the strangest Wii gun mod yet

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on January 5th, 2009

Custom Desert Eagle may be the strangest Wii gun mod yeteBay seller fordelite_76 is just brimming with confidence that you will bid and bid high on this auction for a custom Wii gun they created. I can tell, because he uses a lot of asterisks and the word AWESOME sandwiched in between. That’s confidence. And why not? “IT WORKS GREAT AND LOOKS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER WII GUN OUT THERE ..I HAVENT SEEN …”

Who could argue with that? It looks so realistic with the large white Wiimote attached bayonet style. I bet the thinking was that if you can’t frag your enemy from a distance, just approach and stab your TV Civil War style. Another strange thing is that in the pics the gun appears to be hardwired to the Wimote’s B button via a bent hanger wire that pulls the trigger. Now that’s craftsmanship.

iPhone Nano concept photo surfaces

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on December 23rd, 2008

iPhone Nano concept photo surfacesRumors of an iPhone nano have been persistent for weeks now, and here are the first pics of the so-far fantasy phone. It looks about 3/4 the size of the iPhone, slimmer but still sexy. Is this just wishful thinking?

It could be true, but many don’t see it happening in January. For an announcement of this calibur, Steve Jobs would be making it, right? He’s not going to be at the Macworld keynote next month. But think about this. Why does he have to be there to make the announcement? Why not “phone it in” on an iPhone Nano?

Actual video of a Wiimote to the TV

Posted in Humor by Conner Flynn on December 15th, 2008

Actual video of a Wiimote to the TVThis is the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. We’ve seen tons of tons pics of the aftermath of what an LCD TV looks like after it’s had a Wiimote encounter of the nerd kind, but I’m thinking this may be the first actual recorded instance of the phenomenon. It’s captivating.

The dude is playing Wii Bowling real close to the TV. When the carnage takes place, the first thing he does is call for his mama, then he touches the TV and gives it a few gentle nudges, no doubt believing that this will somehow make it all right again. Again he calls for his mama. Video below.

Scientists extract images directly from the brain

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on December 11th, 2008

Scientists extract images directly from the brainIn what could be the first step toward recording your dreams, researchers from Japan’s ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories have developed new brain analysis technology that can reconstruct the images inside a person’s mind and display them on a computer monitor. That means it won’t be long before you can share your thoughts and dreams with others the way you share your flickr pics. They’ve successfully displayed simple images produced in the human brain on a computer screen.

The device converts electrical signals sent to the visual cortex into images that can be viewed on a computer screen. In the experiment, they showed test subjects the six letters in the word neuron and successfully reconstructed the word on screen by measuring brain activity. So, is this awesome or scary as hell? I vote scary.

T-Mobile branded Samsung “Memoir” cameraphone surfaces

T-Mobile branded Samsung “Memoir” cameraphone surfacesThe latest blurry photos to surface are these two hazy pics that supposedly show-off a T-Mobile Samsung destined for the US. The alleged big brother to the Samsung Behold reportedly features an 8 megapixel camera. Tmo News is also reporting that it’s going to run on Touchwiz, the same UI as the Behold, and that it’s being called the Memoir.

It’s not a smartphone as the Touchwiz interface doesn’t have the flash and whiz-bang of Android or OSX, so don’t expect wifi. But that’s just what people are guessing. 3G is expected, along with a full html browser. Nobody knows for sure.

Lacie intros currenkey flash drive

Lacie intros currenkey flash driveLaCie’s latest offering makes their flash drives more portable, though you’ll need to be careful that you don’t unwittingly spend it.

It’s thicker than a coin, but the metal exterior of the USB 2.0 drive provides the illusion, thereby making it easy to lose in a pocket full of change, or worse, in some stores register. It will cost you $20 for the 4GB version and $30 for the 8GB version. Not a bad price for the sizes, so you won’t mind too much when you accidentally pay for something with it and some dude at Walmart has some free pics of your wife…

Transparent Billboards promoting Sony PSPCheck out this creative marketing campaign for Sony’s PSP gaming console. Have you seen one in your neighborhood? I’m guessing no, since this is actually a concept for a PSP campaign made by a fan. But how cool would it be to spot a transparent PSP with a Tie Fighter, or even Spiderman in the background. Hit the link for more pics. Sony needs to hire this guy at once.

Nokia “Wahoo” 3G half-QWERTY flip uncoveredWe didn’t see this one coming. Boy Genius has uncovered some pics and specs on a new Nokia flip that’s destined for AT&T. It’s super secret codename? “Wahoo”. Damn they’re creative. This quad-band clamshell has an interesting half-QWERTY keypad, internal 2.2-inch QVGA display, 1.36-inch external unit, push-to-talk, microSD expansion, and A2DP support. It sports a form-factor that’s similar to the BlackBerry Pearl Flip. Nothing on a release date. Wa-freakin-hoo.

Marware’s Game Grip makes your iPhone look fugly

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on November 2nd, 2008

Marware’s Game Grip makes your iPhone look fuglyGaming on the iPhone and iPod touch could be awesome with some kind of thin DS-like overcoat, but the fugly looking thing above doesn’t fit the bill. Two large foam handles only make it look like a reject from a kid’s version of the podracer scene from Star Wars. Yeah, this thing could definitely win in a Special Olympics pod race, but that’s about it.

Your sleek device is lost within. You can almost hear it’s muffled cries for help. This thing doesn’t even sport any buttons, no extra battery life. No functionality period. All for $50. It’s as if your precious iPhone were some drooling abomination that earned itself a “special” helmet for rides on the short bus.
