German paper claims 3Ds will launch on November 11

A German newspaper has published a rumor that it dug up claiming that the Nintendo 3DS will launch in Japan on November 11. The 3DS is the latest portable gaming console from Nintendo and will support 3D gaming with no glasses required.

The German paper, Blid, also claims that the 3DS will hit Europe in the spring of 2011. The story offered no insights into a launch date for the US. The publication also listed several video games that it claims are launch titles for the portable console.

Nintendo’s next handheld, the Nintendo 3DS, will be much more powerful, as it’s hardware specs are a vast improvement over the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo DSi. IGN is reporting on these new specs, citing “persons familiar with the hardware who spoke to us under the condition of anonymity,”.

Here are the specs: CPU: 2 x 266MHz ARM11, GPU: PICA200 133MHz GPU by DMP, RAM: 64MB, Video RAM: 4MB, Storage: 1.5GB Flash-based.

Nintendo 3DS might support digital newspapers and magazines

When you think of a Nintendo handheld, you rightly think gaming, but the new 3DS might just support reading newspapers and magazines too. Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has said that the company is looking at ways to automatically beam newspaper and magazine articles to a 3DS handheld.

The 3DS is fully capable of receiving data while in sleep mode, after all. It could automatically connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot, and download the material of your choice. Then again this device still has a small screen and not so great resolution. It will be interesting to see what it can do.

Will the next Wii be 3D?

3D is everywhere, flaunting it’s 3 dimensions in our faces. We now have the details regarding Nintendo’s 3DS and now it looks like Nintendo may be planning another 3D gaming system. The next Nintendo Wii may offer 3D support.

Nintendo’s president, Satoru Iwata told a Japanese newspaper that they were definitely looking into other 3D products aside from the Nintendo 3DS. Here’s what he had to say:
