Pandora has announced that it now has over 100 million users, and that soon the site will begin rolling out a new design. It will look nicer and also work better. Pandora will begin to use HTML5 on the front-end, which they say should create “a much faster experience.”

The site’s UI will look like a combination of iTunes and Facebook and the controls will appear centered in a top control bar.

Pandora isn’t just about music anymore. The company is expanding beyond music-based radio stations and into the world of comedy. That’s good news, because we could all use a laugh sometimes. The streaming music service will offer more than 10,000 clips from over 700 comedians.

The new service will be ready to go sometime today. It will work the same exact way as any other Pandora station: you create new radio stations based on your favorite comedians and give the thumbs up or down for those tracks you like or dislike. What do you think? Is this a good move for Pandora?

Samsung has now priced its four-door, Energy Star-rated LCD refrigerator and it is just as expensive as you might expect at $3,499 retail. It will arrive late next month. The RF4289 fridge offers 28 cubic feet of storage, including a customizable, counter-height “flex-zone” drawer with a moveable divider. This is for serious food eaters/storage enthusiasts.

It also features LED lighting and Samsung’s twin coolingplus system that separately circulates the air inside the freezer and refrigerator to eliminate odor and keep perishable produce fresher for a longer period of time. If that isn’t enough, there’s an 8-inch, Wi-Fi-enabled LCD touchscreen too, which includes several apps, including Epicurious, Weatherbug, Pandora, AP News, Google Calendar, Picasa Photos and Twitter.

Well, looks like Sharp has just unveiled a set much larger than the one you just bought. Then again, if you are the market for a new HDTV, this is going to be much larger than what your friends have too. Sharp’s 70″ AQUOS Quattron LED LCD TV, LC-70LE732U is the largest LCD television you can buy. If you can afford it that is.

Specs include full HD 1080p resolution, full-array LED backlighting, Quattron Quad Pixel Technology and Sharp AQUOS Advantage Live customer service. But that isn’t all you get. There is also built-in WiFi so you can watch on-demand movies via Netflix, VUDU and the like or apps like Facebook, Pandora and Twitter.

Panasonic has issued a press release with pricing and availability for its 2011 LCD HDTVs. The 37- and 32-inch DT30 (shown above) will ship in April for $1,299 and $1,199 and they will include the newly upgraded Viera Connect with Hulu Plus, 3D features and more.

The E3 and X30 series will feature just the basics: Netflix, Amazon VOD, Napster, Pandora, Facebook and CinemaNow. We know from the image above that they excel at displaying butterflies.

Roku has announced that its Roku XD|S or HD-XR media steaming device now supports playback from USB devices. It came as an included feature in the latest firmware update. That should make users happy.

The feature has been added as another Roku channel and is available in the Channel Store and now supports KV (H.264), MP4 (H.264), MOV (H.264), WMV/ASF (WMV9/VC-1), MP3, AAC, JPG, and PNG files. In case you are not familiar with it, the Roku devices allow you to instantly stream movies, TV shows, Netflix, Hulu Plus or Amazon VOD, or even listen to music on Pandora, directly on your TV.

Samsung’s new RF3289 fridge allows users to access Pandora or even tweet while finding a snack. The fridge is the first of its kind to feature integrated WiFi that will let you view Google calendars, check the weather, download recipes from Epicurious, or leave digital reminders and notes. If there is such a thing as being too connected, this right here may be it. I’m surprised it doesn’t tell your Facebook friends what you are eating.

The fridge has an 8-inch LCD touchscreen as well as a Twin Cooling Plus System that keeps perishable produce fresher for longer. The RSG309 and RF4289 models also provide plenty of storage space. Both will be available in Canada later this year.

Grace Digital’s new trio of internet radios have all been upgraded with color displays and are ready for CES. The Solo Touch is a $249.99 device with a 4.3-inch touchpanel, remote, Ethernet connection, RCA outputs and a headphone jack.

Next is the Bravado X for $179.99, with a 2.7-inch color display, RCA in / out and a USB connector. Lastly, there’s the $169.99 Mondo which sports a 3.5-inch color display, an alarm clock and a USB port.

Pioneer’s latest range of 3D Blu-ray players will now feature iOS support. These include the BDP-430, Elite BDP-41FD and BDP-43FD. Another shared function would be HDMI 1.4a connectivity for stereoscopic 3D capability along with 36-bit color support. For this the source and the TV need to support it. You also get Pioneer’s iControlAV iOS app which is available for free in the App Store, letting iPhone and iPod users control their player over a local network.

All three models will support a continuous mode which remembers where the movie stopped, so you can play it from that position. Using the Ethernet jack, you can also access Netflix, Pandora and YouTube without a computer.

Grace Digital has announced its GDI-IR2550p. It’s capable of streaming music directly from your Pandora stations. Other radios can already do that, but this one allows you to use thumbs up/down, bookmarking, as well as play and pause features from the front panel or on the remote.

If you own an iPhone or iPod touch, you can use the device as a remote. Plus you have access to over 50,000 radio stations, podcasts and on-demand content including NPR on-demand, FOX News, CNN, BBC and Sirius Premium Internet radio.

Tivo has just announced that the Tivo Series 3 and Tivo HD will have access to the Pandora music service. Until now Pandora has only been available on Tivo Premiere boxes. So now you can create personalized Internet radio stations with Tivo’s high end boxes as well.

We all know how it works. You just tell Pandora which music you like and the service will learn your musical tastes and find new content that you will also like. Tivo works the same way as it can recommend similar content based on shows you watch.

In Japan Denon has released the RCD-N7 Apple AirPlay CD Receiver. The $599 unit looks clean and simple and will work with compatible speakers. It boasts an iPhone dock and a USB jack and can also handle audio streaming from Rhapsody, Napster, Pandora and Last.fm.

The Party Mode Plus setting lets you enjoy a five-system multi-zone setup, and Denon’s new iPod/iPhone/iPad Remote App will handle everything. The RCD-N7 will be available next month.

Sharp has introduced two new 3D network Blu-ray players with full HD 3D 1080p/24 fps video output. The Sharp BD-HP90U and BD-HP80U. Both players provide you with access to content from a wide variety of sources like Netflix, VUDU and Pandora via Wireless LAN.

The Sharp BD-HP90U and BD-HP80U also play standard-definition DVDs and CDs, as well as DIVX HD, JPEG and MP3 files. The Sharp BD-HP90U and BD-HP80U will be available later this month for $499.99 and $429.99.

Toshiba has expanded its line of Blu-ray players with the new BDX3000. It’s the company’s first 3D-capable Blu-ray disc player. The BDX3000 delivers Full HD Blu-ray 3D playback with a suite of streaming content and comprehensive audio support.

You can combine this Blu-ray player with Toshiba’s all-new WX800 Cinema Series 3D LED HDTV and a pair of Toshiba 3D glasses. Some other features include DynaLight control and ClearFrame 240Hz technology. The BDX3000 also supports Wi-Fi and Ethernet for wireless access to streaming movies, shows and music.

Even though we can already stream Netflix to our home theater in countless ways, if you have a 2010 Panasonic HDTV or Blu-ray player, you can now join in on the fun. The video streaming widget was originally promised way back at CES and now shows up in a software update.

Just hit up the VIERA Cast menu next to existing tools like Amazon VOD, Skype and Pandora. So now everyone can officially access Netflix on one device or another.
