Ekoore Python Touchscreen Tablet

Ekoore has introduced a new touchscreen tablet called the Python. They hope it will squeeze all other tablets out of the market, but we doubt it. It’s powered by either Microsoft Windows 7 or Linux Ubuntu and has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor and Intel GMA 3150 graphics.

The Python also features an SSD, three USB ports, a mini HDMI port, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G support. The battery will deliver around 4 hours of operation time. Sadly there’s no info on pricing at the moment.

BenQ G615HDPL 15.6-Inch LCD Monitor

BenQ’s latest LCD monitor, the G615HDPL, for the Japanese market is a 15.6-inch LED-backlight monitor with 1366 x 768 native resolution and a 500:1 contrast ratio (DCR 1,000,000:1).

It also boasts 200 cd/m2 brightness, an 8ms response time and it consumes just 7W during normal operation (5W in Eco Mode). So it shouldn’t cost you a lot on your electric bill. As far as connectivity ports, it has a mini D-Sub 15 pin and that’s it. The G615HDPL retails for about 12,000 Yen ($146). …

The MIX Wireless Mini HTPC keyboard mouse is a palm-sized 2.4GHz RF wireless keyboard which only needs batteries and a free USB port to operate. So obviously it makes a good choice for HTPC use.

The device features an optical touchpad, so you can interact more easily with your operating system and it will operate from within 10 meters of range. The device measures just 109mm x 59mm x 18mm and weighs just 93 grams.

EFO Bluetooth Google TV Mini Keyboard

The keyboard that ships with the Logitech Revue set top box is comfortable to type on, but many people may have trouble finding a place to store it when it’s not in use. Here’s a great solution. EFO has a small keyboard that will be much easier to store.

Maybe not as comfortable to use, but it is more compact. The EFO Bluetooth Google TV Keyboard has 82 keys including the typical QWERTY keyboard and keys specifically for Google TV. There’s also a track pad. The keyboard has an RF option and normally communicates via Bluetooth. It has a operating range of 10 meters and the rechargeable battery has 400mA of power. Just $52.50.

Opera Mini 5.1 now available for Windows Mobile

When it comes to web browsers many people don’t like the browsers that ship on their smartphones and start looking for alternatives that work better. Opera makes one of the more popular alternate browsers for many of the smartphone operating systems on the market.

I mentioned back in July that Opera Mini 5.1 had landed for Android devices. Opera has now announced that Opera Mini 5.1 is available for download for Windows Mobile users as well. The new venison of the browser adds some nice new features like allowing Opera to be set as the default browser.

Grace Digital Audio offers waterproof speakers for the outdoors

If you want music outside and worry about your hardware getting wet from splashes, spills, or rain Grace Digital Audio has some new wireless speakers for you. The company has three new wireless speaker models that are waterproof and have 150-foot wireless range.

The new speakers include the Rock Speaker that has a 1×1″ tweeter and a 1×4″ full range speaker. It also has an internal rechargeable battery good for 7-hours and comes with a 15V AC adapter. The speaker is IPX 7 rated and available now for $149.99. The Schooner II is available now as well for $129.99. That much money gets you a pair of wireless speakers.

Opera 5.1 browser hits download for Android

Opera has announced that the full version of the Mini 5.1 web browser is now available for download. The browser promises to speed up surfing the web on any Android smartphone. Opera claims that 61 million people are using the Mini browser globally.

The new version 5.1 for Android has some new features that will make it more appealing. 5.1 can be set as the default browser on Android smartphones. The browser is also optimized for use on devices with larger screens.

Is this the new iPod Shuffle?

The folks at tw.apple.pro say that this photo comes from “deep inside the throat”(Google Translate). So we are guessing they mean a deep throat like source within the company. It’s a 1.2inch x 1.2inch screen which could be the next iPod Shuffle.

The component is marked “Apple,” and there’s no reason to believe it isn’t legit. But just how would you operate a 1-inch touchscreen? What could you really accomplish on a screen so small?

When it comes to booting up your netbook, how fast is fast enough? Windows users are used to waiting anywhere from a few seconds to minutes depending on your system’s configuration platform. Any recent computer has a decent start time, but if you are impatient, you might want to consider Ubuntu Light.

This version will boot up your netbook in just 7 seconds. It’s a full-fledged Linux distribution which offers all the usual tools that come with a desktop OS, like your web browser, office suite, communication and security features and compatibility with thousands of third party apps. The hardware used to achieve this 7 second boot time is a Dell Inspiron Mini 10v that runs on an 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor.

Wii Game Ando Kensaku uses Google search results

It’s a scenario old as Google itself. You have an argument and you settle it by comparing the number of Google search results. You wouldn’t think they could make a whole Wii game inspired by it, but they have done just that.

The game was developed in cooperation with Google and players have to choose which of the several search terms is most popular. There are 14 mini-games in total. Chances are it won’t be released outside of Japan, but for those in the land of the rising sun it will be out on the 29th of April.

AT&T announces Dell Aero smartphone is coming soon

Dell has been peddling its Android powered Mini 3 smartphone around to carriers for a while now. It looks like AT&T has finally bit and will be offering the handset as the Dell Aero soon.

The Aero is hailed as the lightest Android smartphone around. It will operate on the AT&T 3G network and will be one of the few Android devices on AT&T.

Wacom Cintiq 21UX with 2048 Pressure Levels and Back Touchpads

If you like Wacom’s Cintiq display tablets, you’ll really like their new 21-inch model, the Cintiq 21UX. Wacom says that it has better pen performance and ergonomics and their new Grip Pen has their new Tip Sensor technology that requires near-zero pressure to start painting. It also boasts 2048 levels of pressure, double the previous model. How about eight programmable keys on each side of the tablet, over the bezel?

The most interesting feature is the two touch strips on the sides of the tablet, on the back of the bezel. They operate like mini-trackpads, which can be used for four functions depending on the application. Just change the function with your thumb using a button on the front of the tablet and use your middle or forefinger to manipulate the touchpad up and down.

Alcatel OT-808 phone looks like a notebook

Here’s something you don’t see everyday. Alcatel’s OT-808 phone looks a lot like a mini notebook. It has a cutesy look that we imagine will appeal to women. It’s a clamshell obviously and comes with a QWERTY keyboard, a 2.4 QVGA, a 1.1 inch OLED display, Bluetooth, FM, Opera Mini browser, a 2 megapixel camera, social networking, email and instant messaging support.

The dual band GSM phone will cost you $125 and comes in n assortment of notebook colors. We are curious how many of these they will actually sell.

Dell unveils Mini 5 tablet prototype

Everybody is outing their tablets. Dell has unveiled the latest prototype of the Dell Mini 5 Tablet. The new device features a 5-inch touchscreen display with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a front facing camera.

Some other specs include WiFi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity and the Dell Mini 5 runs the Android 1.6 operating system. We should have more updates on this one soon, so stay tuned.

ZiiLABS unveils Trinity smartphone platform

ziitrinity-sbSmartphones are big business despite the sagging economy with consumers flocking to the devices in droves. One of the most popular smartphone OS’ is Android and ZiiLABS has unveiled a new development platform called the Trinity that supports it.

The platform is a smartphone/multimedia phone that sports a 3.1-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 480 x 800. The device supports 1080p video and has a mini HDMI out port. It can operate on quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks, Tri-band WCDMA networks, and HSDPA networks.
